Have a terrific second week! Love the Regal! I was on the Christmas cruise-3rd year & 4th cruise on the ship. Unfortunately, I came home with pneumonia-lots of guests coughing. I had gotten a pneumonia vaccination too!

We felt Princess had definitely cut some corners this year and the food had slipped. Even the Winemakers dinner was not the usual quality. Our CG dinner was good but it's hard to mess up a filet. Definitely the pizza was not the same -different cheese or something.

Spent time at the retreat pool and Sanctuary both wonderful! Muts is just a bit too loud for me unless it's a football game.

I can't complain, I'm a big Regal fan & the price was unbelievable this year for a holiday cruise.

Enjoy the Caribbean! Hope you get to many of the beautiful beaches this week & stay healthy & take lots of vitamin C.

  2. We were on the 12/17-28/17 sailing. A summary sheet was not delivered to our cabin. However, on the morning we disembarked, copies of the summary sheet were available in a rack next to guest services.

My cabin stewart gave me one as I was leaving.

  3. Thank you h-sar for your very enjoyable On Regal right now live! I was on the 11 day Christmas cruise. This was my fourth time on the Regal and third Christmas cruise. The Regal is my favorite Princess ship and I'm heart broken it won't be repeating the 11 day next Christmas [emoji30]. I may have to jump ship to Celebrity next Christmas. Princess are you are reading this?? I was lucky to book the Sanctuary for the entire cruise. Only one day it was a bit windy. The staff were very accommodating. Some days they would move my chair 3 times

following the sun. The afternoon tea delivered to the Sanctuary was the best. We also enjoyed the retreat pool. The Regal staff and crew were fabulous. We thought the MRD food had slipped a bit from the previous year and we were disappointed in the new Sabatini menu. We did enjoy the Winemakers dinner and the Crown Grill. You were lucky to have a quick and smooth debarkation. It was a mess when we left the ship at 9:30. The porter said it was an issue with customs. I could not believe the lines. Usually it's quick and & so organized. We enjoyed the itinerary and would do it again. Unfortunately I left the ship with an upper respiratory infection that was diagnosed as pneumonia when I got home. Hope you and your family aren't too tired today from your long travel day. Enjoy your special Regal memories and planning for next years cruise!

  4. Carolyn, I'm really enjoying reading your Live posts. I will be joining you on the 17th. I'm hoping to secure a chair in the Sanctuary for the cruise. The new terminal & check in sounds fabulous. You boarded so quickly. Unfortunately I

don't have medallion cabin. I am Elite so hopefully we won't have too much of a wait. I was surprised to hear about your first dining experience. This will be my fourth time on the Regal and the food was usually excellent. Maybe the new chef has to get into the groove! Did you select the night for the Wine Makers dinner or did they give you the date. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Crown Grill. Have a fun day in Jamaica! I'll check back in closer to the 17th. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and respond to everyone's questions.

  5. Wonderful new Terminal 2 experience - no more queuing outside, breeze thru check-in, enjoying the revamped Preferred lounge, and we have our medallions! 01c90e67a91f52e6e700c57fdc9eb24e.jpgecfb893882757910d7926e575c57ffd6.jpg6434d7cdfff5fa1ef0ea929588d2188a.jpg

Wow thanks for the photos! Is the preferred lounge for Elites or just the Medallion passengers? I'm on the 12/17 cruise. Unfortunately the cabin was not selected for the Roll out. I'm subscribed & enjoying your live! Bon Voyage and have a fantastic cruise!

  6. You're on the same deck as the Seawalk and Seaview Bar, just a fair ways forward of them, along with being forward if the pool, etc

Should be s pretty quiet cabin, maybe a smidgen of noise during the day from the Sanctuary but it would be minimal.

You may feel a tad more motion than mid-ship, and a bit of sway/side to side motion too from being so high up. For lots of people, not a problem at all...

    Happy sails..

The Sanctuary and the adult pool area are both quiet during the day. I book the Lido deck whenever I can-my favorite!

  7. Last February I stumbled across a good deal on the Silhouette for an April sailing on a 7 day Caribbean cruise. At the time the Concierge cabins were less then a balcony. I paid $1402 for a solo cabin. Loved the ship and had a great cruise.

    I will continue to look

at last minute sailings hoping to find good deals.

  8. I don't have a photo but have stayed in a partial obstructed cabin on the Solstice and have booked it again

The top of the lifeboat is level with the floor of the balcony

So your view out to sea is fine and depending on the cabin you can also see the sea looking down between the boats

The cabin is identical to any other balcony cabin

  9. How do you book a second passenger "no show" ?

Email address, home address & phone number required plus

    the on line check-in?

Would like to hear how it's done. It's sad the single supplement has gotten so high that solo passengers need to think about this [emoji6]

  10. I stayed in this cabin on the Silhouette 2 weeks ago and loved it. The balcony was huge-could have easily accommodated 6 people. There were 2 families on each side with small children. We sailed on Easter Sunday. I only heard the children on the balcony when they were outside with their parents but nothing inside the cabin. I would reserve the cabin again in a heart beat! Lovely cabin, the bed is next to the balcony. Very close to the elevator. Even with all the families on board the hallway was quiet. Enjoyed the new embarkation Concierge lunch in the MDR. A nice relaxing way to begin the cruise. As we were leaving the dining room the announcement was made the cabins were ready. Perfect timing. My cabin Stewart was terrific. She exchanged my bottle of champagne for Chardonnay. I requested cheese and crackers for the daily appetizer that was delivered. The app was too salty for my taste but the cheese plate included a little fruit and nuts. This was my 4th Celebrity cruise & the Silhouette is an amazing ship.

    Have a wonderful cruise! [emoji41]

  11. So glad DS said it was #1! I totally agree. It was an awesome week & the Silhouette is a special ship! I arrived @ the airport about 10 am and it started to pour rain shortly after. My 1 pm flight was diverted to Ft Myers due to the weather. I missed my connection in Atlanta & had to spend Sunday night in Ft Lauderdale. I went to the baggage desk to pick up my luggage that arrived by the ships Luggage Valet service. I was horrified my luggage sat outside in the rain until 4pm. You could ring out the clothes everything was soaked. Southwest did the minimal paying for $50 of dry cleaning & said I should have hard side luggage! I filed claims with Celebrity's Travel protection. My leather heels and hand bag are ruined and many bright colors bled on to white clothing. The luggage is ruined and it was brand new. Ft Lauderdale got over 3.5 inches of rain that afternoon. I will always line my luggage with plastic and pack my clothing in bags to protect everything. Oh well it could have been worse - luggage could have been lost! Hope to see everyone on another Celebrity cruise soon! [emoji41]

  12. I was also on the Silhouette last week and all I can say is WOW! The Silhouette is definitely the shining star of the fleet. I have been on many cruises and this was my fourth time on Celebrity. This ship surpassed the other 3 Celebrity cruises. My only comment is bar service in the Oceanview on the pool decks and in the MDR could be increased. I did not make it to the Sky Lounge. With so many having the beverage packages, additional Sommeliers & bar staff would help keep up with the demand. I thought the dinners in the MDR were excellent. Steaks were very good and could be cut with a butter knife. I've not been on the Luxury liners but think Celebrity is steps ahead of other lines. I too booked another cruise while on board and definitely want to sail on the Edge. I also enjoy Princess Regal and Royal. I liked Sara, CD and her energy. The Captain was awesome,

friendly, & funny. His positive tone is shared by the staff who can't seem to do enough for the passengers. My bed was so comfortable and I had a huge balcony near the hump. I enjoyed the Concierge level cabin and would book again. [emoji41]

  13. You don't say which ship or cruise lines you are on. There are 3 different cruise piers.

The downtown pier, Punta Langosta, is relatively short. This is where NCL and Disney will typically dock. The Puerta Maya pier is long and there are bicyle ricksaws that can take your aunt to the shopping area or taxi stand. This si where Carnival, Princess, Hal ships will typically dock. With the renovations at the International pier, I don't know what is available there. The International pier is where RCL and Celebrity and other lines typically dock.

She will be at International pier.

Is that the furthest port to the taxis?

    Thank you!

  14. Are there golf carts that provide rides from the ship to the terminal? My aunt can't walk long distances and this would be helpful to get her to the terminal
