  1. LeeAnne! He looks like he's trying to make friends with you! 😍 Great pic! Thx!
  2. The drift snorkel happens on a day when we're in Tahaa and doesn't infringe on the two days in Bora Bora 🙂
  3. Hi! We 3 are signed up for this on your trip, so if you do it, we'll see you there. I may not make the second and third pass, but I think it'll be fine for us, I've read a lot about it. My understanding is they don't go to the same place they used to. A rash guard is going to be an important thing to bring along - I bought a long sleeve one piece bathing suit that I'm going to use for this. Your going to need some kind of swim shoes or booties, to protect your feet that you will swap out for swim fins at the beginning. I've also heard it's a good idea to wear shorts. I bring a lot of sunscreen, and use it pretty religiously, so I'm not too worried. Famous last words, LOL!
  4. Dress code from the menu board outside one of the restaurants on board last year screen shot from YouTube, sorry for the quality
  5. Thanks, we have an overnight in BB, so plan to spend the other day on the motu 😎 looks beautiful. I love to just lay around on beach vacation, this will be a pretty active vacation, and the motu is part of planned downtime.
  6. La ora na! Thanks for responding 🙂 I did get the Southern sky chart from Amazon, and came across a resource for downloading the night sky for each month. Also found that there is an astronomy Society for Tahiti, and I plan to write to them and see if they have any viewings from their big telescope. I wonder how steady the ship is trying to see through telescope or astronomy binoculars? Here is some of their beautiful astronomy photos: https://sattahiti.jimdofree.com/astrophotographie/ Hope we can make the blessing ceremony, I will probably have a constant stream of happy tears, and will make for terrible pictures, lol 😆 We have an afternoon H2O snorkel set up for the 1st day in Bora Bora, hope it doesn't coincide. I wanted to thank you Sita! after doing my research I found your post about leaving money on the table by not going through travel agent, I did my due diligence and wound up with a good amount of onboard credit, and a reasonably priced upgrade 😁 thanks for the inspiration! I love this place, and appreciate every one who shares their knowledge.
  7. Hi everyone 🙂 appreciate all the help this thread has been! Now that I have gone through the dailies, gotta say thank goodness the covid restrictions are no longer in place 😷 so happy to be past it! Does anybody recall when they do the marriage blessing ceremony? It's not a private one that would be arranged for a fee, just a more casual thing? I didn't want to schedule anything against it, not sure dh will go for it, but who knows? Maybe the moonlight and stars will get to him, lol 🥰 30 years Speaking of stars - does anyone know of astronomy excursions other than the kind that are folklore-based? My son is very interested in the southern hemisphere night sky, and I would love to learn more about it. Is it true that you can see the Milky Way with your Naked Eyes? Wow! 🌌 Anyone done spa treatments? I've downloaded the menu, and they have some different experiences, just was wondering what your experience may have been like?
  8. Ok - one more thing? 🫠 What is the difference between Gala, Tahitian, and regular night?
  9. White ones? 🤔 So, nice, solid white leather sneakers with dockers style pants is a go at the main dining room, with a button down or polo? Thanks for the thorough explanation of the rsvp situation, I hadn't realized there was a limit 😊
  10. Thanks! 🙂 Hmm, may I ask what kind of sneakers? Lol, usually it's me who needs things, but the son has grown a lot recently and had to get all new summer stuff. When do you make the dinner reservations? All at the start of the cruise? Each day? Appreciate your help 🤙🏻
  11. You have to do dummy booking. You can't see the percentage of how full the ship is actually, is but you can get an idea of how many cabins are available in your level. So log into your PG account, select the cruise you're on from the main menu, and choose the cabin level - it will come back and show at the top, how many people, plug that in if not 2, comes back with cabin level to select again, click that, then the deck plan page comes up and says that you're assigned to cabin blah blah blah. If that category has more than one cabin available, it will ask if you want to choose another cabin? Yes, click on that, it will come back, usually, with up to five cabins to choose from. That's how I knew they were down to the last two cabins that would hold three people, there was a cabin on the end that I wouldn't take even if it is a balcony, due to its position. So there was one left that was meeting my criteria. When travel agent sent me the email, I jumped on it.
  12. LOL! At this stage in my life, they would have to be some really big coconut shells 🥥🥥 not sure my neck is up to it! I do look forward to buying a pareo when we get to Tahiti, precruise. We're staying at the Hilton for a couple days, and I understand there is a shopping center across the street where I hope to score one. I would really love to learn how to do the flower crowns and lei from the ladies, not sure when they teach that or if they give you anything like that when you come onboard? So you've been before? Awesome 🤙🏻
  13. I'm sorry that they've made it difficult to get a deal, have you ever considered booking online using a VPN from a different country? I don't know if that would work for this kind of thing, but it's the only thing that comes to mind. I did keep checking the cabins to see how full the sailing was. Using that, you may be able to show them the logic of moving you up, so someone else can book the less expensive cabin you would leave behind 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just wanted to say Slovenia is lovely! First we went to the Predjama Castle, then to Ljubljana, where they were having a huge celebration in the city, giving out free beer (two kinds!) and sausage sandwiches - we had no idea what we had stumbled on! We had a great time, everyone was very welcoming to us. Seems like a nice place to live, and free college! Wow! We just finished paying our son's first year 🤑
  14. Thanks! I did see it on the website, but in reading trip reports, it seems a little less rigid for the guys than that? My son only has black dress shoes and Keens closed toe sandals (besides sneakers) so want to get something appropriate, but that he'll use again. I'm all set, sundresses are easy and light, not sure about a pareo being tied around my waist at dinner 🥴 lol
  15. OMG! So great! This is just what I needed, you're an angel 😇 Though I'm still confused about the dress code 🙈 Anybody? Gala night? Polynesian night? What's the difference? Is there a place where my teen son can get dinner in shorts? When do reservations open for the restaurants? Can we do them all at once, or a daily thing? Lol, this answers a lot of questions, though now much more to think about! 🙃 Thank you so much!
  16. Hi! I'm still smiling! 🤗 We only booked the trip May 1st, I did a bunch of research, trying to find a good travel agent as mine had retired, and turns out her agency didn't handle PG anyways. We are on the 8 day, I wound up with a good amount of OBC, and told the travel agent that I was interested in upgrades if any became available. I was totally ready to stick with my original choice, but for the three of us, it was less than the above number mentioned. I got an email from the agent yesterday. Not sure where you are booking from, may be different outside of USA? You may be able to tranfer booking to an agent and get something from it. Good Luck, fingers crossed 🤞🏻
  17. la ora na! 🧜🏻‍♀️ I hope you all are well out there! It's our first time on PG and was wondering if anyone had recent daily activities schedules and/or menus that you could post up? We're going next month and trying to get a feel for the Rhythm of the ship. Mauruuru roa!
  18. Hi! We are on the same trip as you, just got, and took my upgrade offer from window to balcony! So happy, it would have been my first window room, lol, not that there's anything wrong with that 😅 We have 3 and the extra room, plus just having a balcony! OMG!
