  1. You guys are great! 😊 Sounds like there's more options than I know what to do with late night. Walter, you're right, I am overthinking this, but that's just who I am, LOL πŸ˜„ I dragged my best friend into this and I have to make sure she has an awesome time. Now that you guys have chimed in, I feel much better. We are both very excited and happy to be going, it'll be much easier for me to be flexible without my family in tow. Searching for my red outfit as we speak!πŸ’ƒπŸ» Thanks for the heads up about the bed. Not sure about bringing a mattress topper with me on the airplane, but buying a cheap one in Miami might be an option, a firmer mattress can be ok, but I don't want to wake up like I slept on a pull-out couch πŸ₯±
  2. Thanks for all the help πŸ™‚ some more, please? Beds - I hear the beds can be really firm, read that someone had to have the room steward put two comforters on top of their mattress instead of an egg crate. Did an egg crate or mattress topper actually exist, and they were just out of them, or is that just a fish tale? 🎣 how's the pillows? Is there someplace to eat 24 hours? When is last call? What time do the events wrap up? Does the ship get quiet in the wee hours? Been reading reviews, it really runs the gamut of people who were bored and felt everything closed up way early, to people who thought there was too much partying going on. I know it's a personal take on things. Someone was complaining about people just coming too close - I guess it's a product of how many sailors are aboard, or is that just the vibe?
  3. Bom dia and thanks for taking the time to post up such a wonderful review 😊 pictures are great! I have a similar sensory issue to you and I was wondering if there were any other locations on the ship or experiences that may have also bothered you? I'm a bit afraid to walk into Razzle Dazzles! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
  4. The polar vortex πŸ₯Ά Damn. Forgot about that. Everything so changeable now. I get cold easily, so thanks for the heads up, hopefully it will be warm and sunny, but you never know anymore. Might have to dance to keep warm, LOL , looks like one of the last places I can blend in with the crowd πŸ˜… We got our reservations linked together, and I think I'm going to revisit the bottle of champagne with them. I found terms and conditions c. The group of cabins using the Referral Link must have (1) additional cabin linked, for a total of (2) cabins
  5. Ok! Our reservations have been successfully linked together 😊 I just called to find out about the celebrate together promotion, and unfortunately you need to have three cabins linked, though the wording isn't that clear. When you’re onboard celebrating with your crew, we make it easy to book, link your reservations, and dine together β€” and get perks for doing it. When you book and link your reservation with your fellow Sailors, you’ll get a complimentary bottle of bubbly (1 per cabin) I did mention that it was a big birthday, so he said they may be able to come up with a surprise for her. Maybe I'll just put a bottle of champagne in her room? He said there was a $50 credit for referral, but it had ended and if they reestablish it, I can ask for it if it happens before we sail. More money for spa always good πŸ™‚
  6. Thanks for your help! I can't believe there's no robes in the rooms, I think they're truly missing a marketing possibility. Not sure what the robes look like in the Rockstar Suites, but I can imagine some very swanky, red/black satin robes to make you feel extra, could be a big seller? On one cruise line that shall remain nameless, they removed the robes from the room the day before disembarkation, perhaps to avert accidental pilfering πŸ™„ didn't notice this until I stepped out of the shower and went to put it on, lol, no worries this time! πŸ˜„
  7. OMG, this will be fantastic! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ thanks for taking the time to post this up for me, we will say a toast to you and CC after we open the bottle! Cheers! πŸ₯³
  8. Thank you so much for the information! πŸ™‚I just got in touch with my friend and we're exchanging QR codes that I found on the app under messages, then contacts, which brought up a link for me to send her. We'll see how this goes, but it does look pretty straightforward. I'm glad to hear we may be able to open the divider on the balcony and have our own little back alley, LOL. I know they open them when they are cleaning the rooms and turning over the ship in between sailings. Thanks for letting me know about the door lock - it would be very unfortunate to come back to a super hot room if I went out through her front door on our way out.
  9. Thanks for answering, I'm really happy to be having my own cabin, and that bathroom does look tiny, shower especially. I usually have to share a balcony room with my husband and son who take up a lot of room, LOL. I haven't been on a vacation away from my family in many years and looking forward to the luxury of having my own space. The hammock looks like a great place for a nap! I'm glad to hear that we have control over the temperature in the room, and that you were always comfortable in the ship. Trying so hard not to overpack 🫠
  10. Thank you so much for the speedy reply! I can't imagine that black soap going over well with anybody except the marketing team, LOL. I bet it was a mess to clean up off the sink, too. I will bring my black go with everything sweater, will go nicely with the red πŸ™‚
  11. Hi everybody! πŸ™‚ VV first timer, a couple months out, 45 days for rsvp's coming soon and I have some questions, thanks! Celebrating a milestone birthday of my long time bff - as part of her gift to herself, she wanted her own cabin, so we are side by side, in the central sea terrace. I'm kind of excited that she pushed for this, as I've never had my own cabin and probably never will again, LOL. She's only been on one cruise before and I've been on a few. Since we're each paying for our own cabins, how do we make reservations for dinner, shows and exercise classes, for two of us at one time? Meaning, can I, as one person in a room, be allowed to make reservations for two people, me and someone in another cabin? Can the door between our balconies be opened so we can hang out together, or have passage to the other room without going in the hallway? Are there bathrobes and slippers in the room? Is the bar soap really black? πŸ˜‹ I was wondering about the temperature around the ship and restaurants? Leaving from Miami - I realize that the ship is moving creating wind, but how cold on deck if they have the dance parties out there? I'm trying hard not to overpack, my fam won't be there to help meπŸ’ͺ🏻 Thanks for any info! Getting excited, it looks like a lot of fun πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ’ƒπŸ»
  12. Hey @minidonuts85 Seriously jealous!! 😊 I hope that you have a great trip! πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ
  13. I wear my contact lenses and a regular mask and it works great πŸ™‚
  14. Hi! πŸ™‚ Open sandals are not going to be the best choice, and never really came across any sandy beaches, everything was a little bit crunchy underfoot. Did cut my foot open once when I didn't have them on. Not to mention stepping on sea cucumbers kind of icky 😝 I found these reasonably priced shoes with a good sole, very comfy can walk around in them all day. Check out this other thread πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ
  15. πŸ˜… lol, I totally overpacked! Spent most days in a bathing suit and cover up, I knew that we would have a lot of wet clothes between the three of us. A wet bag was a must. One of the best things I brought were these magnetic hooks that you can use on the wall of the cabin. I used them mostly in the hallway to hang things to dry, there were not enough places in the bathroom, even though it had a clothesline: https://www.amazon.com/GREATMAG-Magnetic-Kitchen-Outdoor-Hanging/dp/B08BFBHV5X?th=1 Also, the cabin doesn't have a lot of power outlets, so a long extension cord that does not have a surge suppressor on it would be very convenient https://www.amazon.com/GE-Extension-Outlet-Perfect-Kitchen/dp/B000Q68W2G/ref=asc_df_B000Q68W2G/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=423904863271&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17876186609283593033&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007388&hvtargid=pla-911550428783&ref=&adgrpid=98975650952&th=1 A European adapter - there is a desk with two power outlets, one being European style, so if you bring one of the round pronged adapters you can convert it to a 2 prong USA type plug for devices that can be used in both 110/220 power, like most phones and laptops. Conversely, Europeans can bring an American adapter and get an extra outlet on the other side of the desk. https://www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-Europe-Travel-Converter/dp/B097GCZWMM/ref=asc_df_B097GCZWMM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532923056828&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17756297808396134407&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007388&hvtargid=pla-1393365441968&th=1
  16. Hi πŸ™‚ we brought our trip vouchers and "mandatory health questionnaires" on board with us, and I remember having to sign conditions of boarding online shortly after booking, to which they sent me an email with the following Thank you for confirming you have read our health boarding conditions and fitness to travel Nothing that had to be signed by a doctor, but we don't have any conditions that needed to be noted and we weren't going to be diving, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
  17. If one does want to take pictures, the best strategy would be to wait for everybody else to go, and be last on the line. On my first run through, I'm behind a lady who was trying to videotape with her insta360 stick camera, kept getting sidetracked, and I would have to try to avoid bumping by swimming alongside of her. I made sure the next time to be the person right behind the guide, and that worked out great. Insta360 lady cued up behind me, and told me afterwards it was very helpful that I was in front so she could catch up by follow my bright red bathing suit easily, lol πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ I would love to see that video. Make sure you have adequate sun protection, I wore a long sleeve, one piece bathing suit.
  18. The boat was really nice! It has a power bimini, sort of convertible roof, very cool. We had a great time zipping around - they do have an open bow with seating, so make sure if it's important to be in the shade, to sit in the back because everybody tends to grab the same seat they took originally. Also, I would bring your snorkel gear from the ship, so to not waste time trying to put together a set of snorkel gear on the boat that works for you. See below, the top comes all the way down so that it's flush with the top of the windshield. They have juice and water on board, which is nice coming out of the saltwater 🌊
  19. Hi! πŸ™‚ We never had a problem getting on the tender, there were no tickets on our sailing, easiest tendering ever! Not sure when you're going, but I think our sailing was pretty full, so if it's a sample of how it normally goes, I wouldn't worry about it, they were very timely and plenty of room. The tenders hold 120+ people and there are only 330 guests. It's not like on a large ship where you have to queue up, or go to the auditorium and listen for your number, nothing like that. I hope you have a great time!
  20. Hi! πŸ™‚ Yes, since we bookended the cruise at the Hilton, wound up in that mall a bunch, (each morning to grab a latte at Brioche DorΓ©e) and it had more stores than I anticipated, super convenient from the pedestrian bridge at the Hilton. https://www.pacificplaza.pf/boutiques/ Since we spent so much time being active, didn’t get to do much shopping during the cruise, except the local handicraft tables at the dock while for waiting for the tender. At the mall I bought some Hinano beer glasses at the Carrefour, which had all kinds of souvenirs at reasonable prices. The best advice I can give you regarding souvenirs is to turn it over and make sure it's made there in French Polynesia. Pareos are everywhere and I kept looking, they are all so unique, so many different colors and patterns, I never grabbed one until we were leaving the airport! Some excursions you can create your own, I hear. Now that I have it at home, I was twisting it around, and my husband looked at me and said it'll make a nice table cloth! LOL! πŸ™„πŸ€£
  21. There were only those high end (IDK- I'm not much of a drinker?) after dinner drinks one had to pay for, everything else was included. Those drinks, and a trip to the boutique or spa, seem to be the only things you could spend money on board for, besides excursions πŸ€™πŸ»
  22. That's sounds like a good way to wade into this, I know my teen would love it, lol πŸ™‚ nice to have something to do together that doesn't take up the whole day because I don't think my dh would be into it. Thanks for the encouragement! Such a beautiful part of the world, warm and clear, I look forward to going back and seeing more πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ 🩡
  23. Thanks so much for such a thoughtful and well laid out answer! πŸ™‚ It might be ok for me, I've grown up by the beach and been doing Pilates for a very long time. Much appreciate the time you put into your posting, it's a lot to think about. And another expensive hobby LOL πŸ˜†
