  1. Thanks for starting this thread I called today and added the drink package.  We did not add a package of any kind for the kids.  I originally declined the drink package because the quote showed the tips for all 4 people in the cabin (2 of these being kids under 16).  My husband doesn't drink alcohol but I looked at the $89 soda package and realized the price for 2 is something that would allow me to have a few drinks and try some that I haven’t in the past and allow soda for both of us.  I also spoke to probably the most helpful NCL customer service representative, something i didn't believe actually existed anymore.  Take care everyone and enjoy your cruises.

I cruised with my son at 9 months of age.  We used the insert style bottles so they were convenient.  If you need to clean you can bring dish soap and a bottle cleaner, thats what we used for the sippy type cups. They will have hot water but not boiling for sterilization.

    Can they provide a kettle?

Some cruiselines will others say it is a fire hazard.

Does anyone know the size of the cot which we will have in our cabin? Think it’s a pack and play but these can be many different sizes.

The one they provided was a smaller size pack and play.  It took up a lot of real estate in the cabin.

Food is usually available on the promenade they have sandwiches and fruit there.  We would often order a couple bananas with morning room service at the beginning of the cruise and keep in our room for him of we needed a snack. We also brought cheerios from the buffet.  We also carried favorites from home as we have a few food allergies.

They used to have a preschool group that met in the morning, there was a baby play room (not 100% certain that was on Royal).

Several of the cruise lines allowed you to order diapers and wipes pre-boarding at a premium.  We always drove to the port so just brought our own.

There were toy exchanges but we never actually used them.

I know we met a mom that ran out of diapers and had enough to share to get her through one trip.

The staff doted on our little ones during their cruises.  Many have children back home they miss and would share pictures and stories about them with us.  We had a waiter who was expecting the birth of a child and would make little animals out of napkins for our son.

The cruise experience is a great way to travel with your little ones.  My son is 11 and about to go on his 11th cruise this year.  He is almost as excited as I am and now we can take a much smaller suitcase.

    Enjoy.

  3. I will be visiting Belize and I have a few questions, and thought I might be able to locate

either a few local tour operators or perhaps an expat who live in Belize full time who would

have a moment to discuss the area.

If you would email me at tkaull@gmail.com I would be very appreciative.

(I have no idea if this is allowed or not so I will apologize ahead of time.)

  4. We make rules and work on them before the cruise. Kids learn our room number, and know they can only go on balcony accompanied. We stacked the two chairs an put the table upside down on it. Kids had to sit on the floor, with a towel if it's dirty. I am anxious with two kids, however I want them to have experiences. My kids understand this is what must be done to enjoy the balcony.

  5. We will be taking late sept cruise from Vancouver and have two kids who love trains. They are already watching videos and have mapped route from airport to cruiseport. We are arriving day before and will shuttle back to airport the morning of the cruise.

Question is what is most economical choice of fares. We will have two days in Vancouver after the cruise, and 2 adults and 2 kids (we have minimal luggage).

Any suggestions we don't mind public transport being fairly rural it is fun and educational to figure out routes. Thanks in advance.

  6. We booked our first HAL cruise to Alaska. I am so excited to be in neptune suite 6088 and wanted to see if anyone had pictures or thought the room was ok? We have done NCL, RCL and even carnival but so excited to see Alaska and HAL. I have been reading and reading but any tips would be great.

    Thanks.

  7. We are on the Liberty of the Seas, last trip we got the soda package. They use fountain guns, and you could not get a decent drink not one tasted correct. We watched people carry on boxes of soda cans with no issues last time so are hoping to do this for our trip coming up.

Is this possible or am I setting myself up for failure?
