No way would I cruise with a mask on. How are you supposed to eat, drink, or swim in the pool with a mask on when you are doing this around people? Nah...we'll wait until the vaccine is available, hopefully by the end of the year.
Who really knows how much a mask helps? Fauci changed his mind two times concerning this subject. In March he said that wearing it really only makes you feel good, and doesn't really help stop the virus. Then he said by wearing the mask you are preventing others from getting it and now he's saying it can help both ways....go figure:( And remember when some people were cleaning everything with clorox over and over again and wiping down groceries?
Hopefully next year at this time we will all be just talking about this awful time in our lives. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected, physically, psychologically, and monetarily.

Got right through to an agent (no wait) and successfully switched my $250 NRD Baltimore to Bermuda 5 night cruise from Grandeur Sep 26, 2020 to Enchantment (Grandeur retiring) Sep 18, 2021 for the same price. It took *45 minutes* for the 'other department' to work through all the paperwork but as my agent told me this is brand new for them. She checked in a few times to let me know they were still working on it. I kept my corner deck 7 aft JS - went from Grandeur 7650 to Enchantment 7666. I had a fantastic price of $1363.87 and it actually reduced to $1288.47 as the taxes/fees/port expenses cheaper!
I have a small $265.50 FCC in the works that should be here any day now (verbal estimate was 30 days from 4/8) that I'll be able to apply to the $1038.47 balance. Have my vacation receipt pdf. The current MD resident discount price for the cruise is $2520.38.
I really don't think Grandeur will be sailing this September and even if it was my husband - this is a solo cruise - wouldn't have wanted me back in the house without a 2 week quarantine somewhere else even if I had decided I felt safe enough to go... which is also doubtful.
Happy that I can look forward to this other cruise in another year. Sad I won't be experiencing Grandeur as I had hoped.
Is your final payment date now extended to May or June 2021?

I'm not sure if this has been asked/answered: If our final payment is due at the end of May for our Sept. 2020 cruise and we want to lift and switch it to Sept., 2021, will our final payment be extended to May, 2021?

8D's were reclassified to 4D's
Yeah! Thank You again!!

One more question....we are in an 8D category, but I don't find that category on any of the Caribbean itineraries on Symphony of the Seas for 2021. So does the lift and shift program have to be the exact same category or can it just be an OVB? I see lots of 4D's available.

Ports don’t matter. As longs as it’s Caribbean.
Wonderful! Thank you for your quick response!

Okay, here's a problem with the "lift and shift" program. The Symphony of the Seas itinerary(ports) has changed from this year to 2021. It's still a 7 day Caribbbean itinerary, RC has changed the ports:( So does this mean we can't use lift and shift for Sept. 2021?
Thank you so much for helping us and answering our questions:)

I just looked on the RC site and clicked on the covid update and it was dated May 5...maybe I read it too fast and was looking for the information posted here and didn't see it. I will check RC's site again. Thank you.

I just looked at the RC site and did not see this update. Please give me the link so I can share it with my cruisemates for our Sept., 2020 cruise.
To clarify, can we "lift and switch" our Sept. 12 cruise to Sept. 2011, and get the same cabin category at the same price as long as it is a 7 day Caribbean cruise? Since we aren't at final payment date, wouldn't it be better for us to make our decision before final payment date?

We got ALL our money back within a week after Royal canceled our 5/17 cruise, so please explain the "racket?"
Wow...you will be the first who received their money from a May cruise. Good for you!

I saw RC's most recent announcement about no sailing until after June 11, but I didn't see if they extended the CWC past Sept. 1. Does anyone know anything about this? Our cruise is in Sept. with final payment end of May.

Will new requirements over physical distancing, air quality, wearing masks, etc., will this finally be the end of interior smoking on RCI ships in the casino? Celebrity does not allow it, Azamara does not have casinos on most ships. Can't figure out how people would smoke through a mask.
This would be sooo wonderful if they banned smoking from the casino on the ship. My hair and clothes will no longer smell from walking through or playing in the casino:)

We met a very nice couple on one of our cruises and exchanged emails and addresses. But as soon as they found out about our political views, they dumped us and ceased all communication (which we had never discussed on our cruise).....

try emailing or contacting the third party (insurance company that RC uses) and explain that the cruise was cancelled by RC due to covid-19. It's worth a try to et your premium refunded..

We are in the "table for two please" group. When we go on a cruise, my DH and I love spending as much time as we can together. It's fun meeting and talking to people at different venues, but we've had some really bad experiences with table mates that we enjoy "just us" at dinner so much more. As with most things, to each his own.....whatever floats your boat (excuse the pun).🛳️

Probably an unpopular opinion but I hated the entire experience.
I don't think your opinion is unpopular at all. We did not like Wonderland either....and MANY others agree with us. The ambiance is very pretty and the chocolate dessert is very good, but not worth the price. When you have to go to another place to eat after you leave there, that should tell you something. And the price is soooo not worth your hard earned money.

okay...thank you. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. Thank you again for your quick response.

My May 11th cancelled cruise was removed from my cruise planner five days after cancellation. Got my FCC last night, still waiting on credit to hit c/c.
Thank you for your very quick response. Did you also receive an email confirmation from RC or your TA?

Cancelled a July 10 cruise under the cruise w/ confidence. Total cost including a $200 non refundable deposit was $2250. Refund was $2,050 back to my CC and a $200 FCC for the deposit amount, as they are waiving the $100pp penalty fee. Unless they change their process, you should get the entire $500 NRD as a FCC.
RC cancelled our May 10 cruise this past Friday, and since I rec'd two different explanations from my TA, we decided to take the full refund. I realize that RC is overwhelmed with all of the cancellations so we may not see a credit on our cc for a while, but when will we receive a confirmation email and our May 10 cruise removed from our cruise planner when we log on to RC? Hopefully someone can answer these two questions:) Thank you and hope everyone stays healthy during this very difficult time in our world.
-
Are we supposed to get an email confirmation from RC showing that we cancelled our cruise and requested full payment? If so, has anyone rec'd one? When I sign on to RC it is still showing our May cruise. Shouldn't this cruise be deleted from this page? Please advise...and thank you:)

We did Wonderland on the Harmony in January. Very interesting experience, but one and done for us.
Agree....interesting, but not appetizing. The only think that tasted good was the chocolate dessert. Not worth the high price tag either:)

I cancelled my cruise using the on-line form. I haven't received an email confirmation yet and my May 10 cruise is still showing up on my cruise planner. Any idea when this cruise will be removed from my planner?

Cash is king. Take your money. Too uncertain now. Plus I cruise through a third party and get a minimum 25% cheaper than royals prices plus paid gratuities, plus obc, plus specialty dinners. I never book through royal.
Would love to know who your third party is with all of those perks!!!

I'm in the same boat (er...excuse the pun:). I check my cc every day now for my refund for my May 10th cruise that I cancelled at the end of March. I did receive an email from RC at the end of April asking for my patience and that I should hear from them again by May 6 unless I receive my refund. I haven't heard a word.....still waiting.............
I've read that many people have called RC and/or their cc company. How much longer should I wait to do this?
