  11. Latam Airlines flies from Santiago to Punta Arenas. It is about a 4-hour flight. Punta Arenas is a small town and you can see everything in 1 day. Isla Magdalena a half day tour from punta arenas has lots of pinguins and an old lighthouse that worth visit. Nearby Punta Arenas there is one of the best chilean natural park Torres del Paine (300 km) but you will need at least 3 to 4 days to cover it.
  12. Hotel lobby, restaurant and pool view from my room balcony.
  13. I went to Manaus last february and stayed at Villa Amazonia. We loved it. Juma is just a block away from Villa Amazonia. Both hotels are in front of Opera Amazonia Theatre and near by some good restaurants. The restaurant at Villa Amazonia is great as well.
  14. Very good. We will be there next August.....
  15. SS ships are getting bigger and bigger.....

  18. Four nights navigating in the Rio Negro river starting and finishing in Manaus (Brazil) to see the Amazon Forest. Cruise is all included type. The ship: Iberostar Heritage Gran Amazon has 74 cabins and 2 suites. There are two restaurants, one pool bar and one lounge with a bar for presentations. The cabins are on decks 1, 2 and 3. The suites are on deck 2. The cabins are the same in area with a small balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. On the upper deck there is a pool and a jacuzzi. There is also a small gym and a small library and a boutique with local handicrafts and supplies. There is also a massage room. The passengers: For this sailing we had 120 passengers, all from Brazil with several teenagers and children (it was a holiday in Brazil). The cabin: The typical Deck 2 cabin was comfortable and sufficient for the 4 nights we were on board. There is plenty of storage place. Bathroom was small, but adequate for short duration of the cruise. The excursions: The excursions are all boat based. Crew members are helpful in getting you on and off the boats, but some agility is required. Excursions includes a walk in the woods and navigating through the small river branches and inside the flooded forest. Usually, it is very difficult to spot animals in the amazon. Birds are more common. There is visits to local villages and fishing of piranha. Excursions are done at least twice a day most of them with 2 option each. The restaurants: The main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, all in buffet style. There is local food and other Brazilian food. Food is good, not spectacular. The house wine is poor, and the paid wine is very expensive. For breakfast is offered both cold and hot food with stations to cook to order eggs. There are always several different options of fresh fruit juice. The pool area grill offers barbecue, pasta, pizza and fresh fruits for lunch time. At afternoon there is served fresh fruit plus cookies. The pool bar offers very nice drinks with and without alcohol all included in the cruise price. Wines are the same from the restaurant (not good). There is also a 24-hour room service. In the lounge there is a bar. The room fringe is stoked with soft drinks and beer. There are water filters and ice machine in every deck and in the pool area. Embarkation and disembarkation: Embarkation is at 3 PM and departure is at about 6 PM and disembarkation is at 8 AM. Both were a bit confused. This is a good way to visit Amazon. Happy to answer any specific questions and apologise for any English mistake.
