  1. I was very busy last night using both. ;)

I wish I had thought about using my visa points before booking an excursion earlier today, since I still had a remaining balance not covered by OBC. Oh well, plenty of time to spend it still, lol! Anyone know how soon after transferring visa points that they are available for usage?

  2. We sail in 67 days and I am just thinking about this room service thing a bit more. No way I will pay $8 for room service. I can afford it, but will not pay it simply on principle. So if I want breakfast on our balcony now where can I pick up breakfast from and take back to my cabin? Can I take a tray of food out of the Windjammer? Any other options? We will be sailing on the Oasis and it is my first time on this ship.

I was wondering about tray options too....do they have them available in park cafe? If so, anyone want to guess how quickly before they ask you not to remove trays from the area?

  3. When I book private excursions, I will only book with companies that will refund (if advance payment is required) if the ship misses a port.

But if I need to book through the ship at last minute, I might end up getting an excursion that cost more than one previously booked.

  4. I hope that the guy at Nationwide that first suggested "Let's take a regular plan and market it as a CRUISE plan" got a huge bonus because this is brilliant. I've read through the fine print and have found nothing that stands out as a cruise-specific plan. That's not to say it's not a good plan but I wouldn't choose it just because it has "cruise" in its name.

The itinerary change did get my attention. We normally book our excursions privately, so this was a way to offset problem if our ports were changed. It was comparable to what I normally get in coverage otherwise & less cost for my family too. Hopefully I will not need it at all but I was curious since I had not seen cruise specific insurance.

  5. Hi Britney! I hope you remember us from your first cruise ;) I see you booked Oasis, you will love her! We are so hooked on Oasis class that we can't even think about other classes of ships. We just booked today for September 10, 2017 back in the Aquatheater Suite! (I need to change my signature since we changed ships and rooms) Port days are also good for shorter lines. I havent done the zip line yet but I plan on doing it this time! Have a great time and let us know what you thought!

Of course, I remember your family! Hope everyone is doing well. Can you believe my youngest in now graduating high school? I hardly can! Decided that it was FINALLY time to try this class of ship. It is the first cruise with BOTH kids out of the teen clubs, hoping they stay plenty busy & enjoying themselves. If my kids are happy, I am happy too! Hope time passes quickly enough for you, I am sure you are very eager to get back on board!

  6. I have always purchased Travel insurance through travel guard. This time I used insure my trip to compare and found a "cruise specific" insurance. Choice Cruise through Nationwide. Anyone have experience with this? This is the first time I was aware of a specific travel insurance for cruising.

  7. Bob is spot on (as usual)...

Then again...we've read that you can get a stronger signal in your cabin with special receiving equipment...

So funny!!! Guess I need to pack a little bit of foil, along with my duct tape! ;) Crossing my fingers hoping he can check email while enjoying coffee in the mornings. Thanks for the feedback!

  8. Before going on Freedom of the Seas the first time, suggestions were made, if you wanted to use the flo-rider multiple times with minimal wait, to go on the first day or early morning times. This was spot on right information. Is it the same on Oasis for the Zipline and Flo-Rider? Anything else that is best to try on day one, specifically on Oasis of the Seas?

  9. * Park Cafe (located in Central Park. At breakfast has a bagel bar, egg sandwiches, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, etc. At lunch has a salad bar, roast beef sandwich, panini’s, quesadilla’s, wraps, etc. This is one of our favorite lunch spots.

    * Wipeout Cafe: back of ship near the sports court. At breakfast has a nice small buffet of pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc. It also has a made to order omelette station that makes great omelettes (and other eggs). At lunch the buffet is set up with hamburgers, hot dogs, wraps, nachos, etc (a few items may change during the week).

    * Johnny Rockets: made to order breakfast daily.

    * Solarium: at breakfast this has healthier food choices. Eggs, fruit, granola, oatmeal, turkey bacon and sausage, muffins, etc. Lunch also has healthier food and a salad bar.

    * Sorento’s Pizza: Has a selection of 2-3 pre-made pizzas that differ day to day. Also has a “make your own” pizza bar where you can choose ingredients and have them make a pizza for you. If you don’t see an ingredient, ask if they have it in back. For example, some days they may not have sausage at the make your own bar, but can still add it for you.

    * Promenade Cafe: this has some simple sandwiches and a selection of desserts. Good place to stop by for a quick snack.

    * Boardwalk Donuts: this is a “self-serve” cabinet with donuts located across from Boardwalk Dogs.

Do you happen to know if there are trays in Park Cafe, that my husband could grab coffee & pastries in the morning?

  10. We have always used 2 cabins (one for parents/one for teens) so we could not risk guaranteed cabins. Now they are older, we booked them. I have X guarantee listed on my booking info. I have not seen XN; are these different types of guaranteed cabins? If so, what is the difference? I was told that I would have superior oceanview balcony. OP- even if it is inside balcony I would book it for that price. I am seeing the weird pricing on interiors being more $$$ than balconies on my week too! My guess is there are more balconies than interiors, so they are pushing up interior prices to fill balconies first.
