I have been on five RCCL ships and find the staff very warm and including about 99% of the passengers. Once in a while just like on land you will come across an occasional jerk but that can happen anywhere at anytime in life.
-
No one forced you to book so far ahead.. perhaps you can wait last minute next time you cruise but the risk you take is you may not get the cabin you want or even worse you may not get a cabin at all the ship may be sold out. You know what they say with risk comes reward. So that is up to you it's not the cruiselines fault.

There are no car rental places inside the port. You would need to take a cab to the airport or one of the offsite locations. Make some calls sometimes there are some extra fees you must pay for renting a car at the airport locations

In all honesty of your not taking a tour you and your family should stay on the ship and enjoy a great day relaxing.... trust me on this one I

I think I remember seeing them at the wipeout cafe

How did the OP get this so wrong ?
-
We had a boardwalk balcony near the aft of the ship and completely loved it.
You can see the aqua shows, the wake of the ship, and the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk itself.. Some people say it's noisy and it's not once your in your cabin with the door shut it there is no noise.
Only remember if you get a cabin near the very back its a bit of a walk to the elevators but well worth it to have a very unique cabin that you have a special view only found on 2 ship in the entire world, and it's less expensive then a standard ocean view balcony.

I would be very surprized if they do. Hemodyalisis is a very complicated process that needs super sterility, an intact lab and a whole staff dedicated to the patient, which I don't believe they have on a ship.
If she's on peritoneal dyalisis - which means she does the dyalisis at home and not via a machine that "cleans" her blood, she might be able to cruise with you.
Another option is maybe stopping at ports with decent medical accomodations where she can hop off - get her dyalisis (instead of doing a shore excursion) and come back to the ship. (probably can be done in a Europe cruise, less on caribbean ones) . Hemo-dyalisis patients usually have addresses of places they can do dyalisis around the world.
Again, these are my thoughts as a doctor. Maybe they do have a machine...
Doing it at when you reach a port sounds like a good idea ... but what happens if you miss that port? which can and does happen all the time.

Just curious..don't the cruise lines run into this all the time with honeymooners? I can see someone reserving their honeymoon in their new name but not having enough time to change all their id's. Is that taken into consideration or is this one of those things where you do it there way or you don't go?
It's not the cruise lines rules.. U.S. customs requires it for entry into the USA
If your going to get married and immediately leave on a cruise all you have to do is book it on your maiden name and avoid all the hassle.
-
AFAIK, if your passport (ID) is in your maiden name, your reservation has to be in your maiden name also. I believe they have to match.Agree with Schmoo even though it's not what you asked - all reservations names must match. If the cruise and your flight are not in your maiden name as is on your passport, you may have a problem. Might be easier to change your info on the reservations if you do not have time to apply for a name change to your passport.
EDITED to add: sorry, looks like there isn't time as you are sailing tomorrow. Take all the ID you have and hope for the best. :)
The whole idea of her having a concern about linking her maiden name and her married name is because I am sure her reservation is on her married name. If that wasn't the case she wouldn't have any concern. the OP would just show her passport and get on the ship.

It has been mentioned on this board that airport construction has had some impact on getting to the Port.
You won't be going near the construction

If you did drive through any toll station, regardless of what lane you were in, unless you hand paid your tolls, you're going to get a charge.
I am not sure if you have not traveled on I95 in the last few years here in south Florida, but now they have express lanes that you do get charged a toll and they are to the left and clearly marked. So it does make a major difference in what lanes you use. Please also note they don't have toll booths so there is no way to "hand pay".

Cue the CCL cheerleaders to defend Carnival.

We have always (once we learned of them) used Park N Fly, because we are not fond of valet parking.
Port everglades doesn't have valet parking.

Another dumb question...If your passport is in your maiden name and your drivers license in your married name do they go by passport or drivers license? It doesn't matter to me I am just curious so if nobody knows no big deal. I just thought a passport was the definitive be-all end-all of identification?
If the name you booked on matches your passport name your good to go. If they don't match you have to linked them together such as using a marriage certificate.

If 15 alcoholic drinks a day is not enough for you that's the equivalent of a half a bottle of whiskey a day if you think you need more, you have some issues

I thought some cruises required passports. I'm thinking I heard if there's a stop in belieze is one of them?
