Sounds much more resaonable to me than cheekyscouse's nosebleed charges.
I don't think the cost was ever at the forefront of our thoughts, it can be quite scary to be ill on a ship. In this case the thought of being put of into a Russian hospital did not help.

18 months ago on Adonia my Wife had a chest infection, medical staff called out at 11.00pm, plus 2 further visits to the medical centre and some antibiotics. All for approx £170, bargain!
-
Now you know why our NHS system is under tremendous strain with people from everywhere flooding hospitals for free treatment. I wonder how many would be there if they were charged as you are onboard a ship?
More than balanced by the fact that millions of Brits live abroad, how would the NHS and other services manage if they returned home.

We are hoping that this fly cruise works well and that PO introduce a more interesting / Exciting itinerary in 2015.

Likewise but given the Caribbean experience I am not holding my breath. Even Adonia is mainly visiting the same old regulars out there.

Well not quite.... Ryanair have a fleet of 300+ aircraft with a capacity of 57.000 seats. with a constant need to maximise seat occupancy You appear to have missed the point, it was whether it is a wise marketing strategy for P&O to be known for offloading last minute giveaways ( perhaps a better name than getaways)

I certainly have, are you saying Ryanair are a good example of how to run a business to the satisfaction of its customers.
-
Our experience of Ryanair is that the early booker gets the best (lowest) fares. Their policy appears to be that if you leave it late you pay top dollar. Perhaps they would rather fly with empty seats than encourage last minute booking. If so a sensible policy.

What does filling an aeroplane with 150 passengers for a 2 hour flight and crewed by 8 staff has to do with filling a cruise ship with 3000 passengers for a 2 week trip and crewed by 1000 staff.
btw, do you ever see any complaints about Ryanair

Looks like we will be on the Dream liner in february as our flight no is 034.
What am I missing here, other than being bigger which could be deemed a disadvantage, what are the advantages.

Why? You can get milk cartons 500ml from the breakfast buffet
The clue is in the word fresh :)
-
If sailing from Southampton, buy a pint or 2 of fresh milk just before you get to the port.

He is certainly not hands-on, you are very lucky if you see him -
Try the prom deck around 6.00pm, he is normally walking off some of the ships supplies :)
TBF Hughie and Dee are nice people when you get to speak to them, but I have to say his 'directing' does leave a little to be desired.

I too will never either cruise with P&O again or fly with whichever airline it is we end up with. Never had this problem with Princess or RCI or NCL had a 30kg no bother.
I would have thought that packing restrictions were far less of a problem than having to fly via the USA and go through their customs. But each to their own.

Perhaps we should ask for a list of cruises that we can use FCD on. Seems like it may onlybe allowed on full price cruises. Wonder what Trading standards would say?
I didn't think there was a restriction other than the packages, ie cruise and tour via a travel agent.

I think the point is that the sail away parties take place in one section of the ship, if you don't like them then stay away.
I don't like a lot of things on-board, entertainment and activities, I can either spend my time complaining or go elsewhere and enjoy the cruise.
