  1. If the 15% concerns you a lot they will definitely still take you once you are there. They had a booth at the port and some people were booking it right then. Being pre-booked we got in a van right away and were up at the zipline before it got really crowded. Yes, how many ship in port that day will be important. If there are a lot I'd take my chances with the 15% fee. I found the website cruisetimetables . com to be the best place to look that up.

we did the zip and dip. I think the beach was called west end beach or something like that. It was the west end of the arc shaped beach where Tabayana is I think. I walked all along the beach and there are a ton of beach club kinda places all along. The place we went to had chairs that cost $5 each. We got 3 of them for 5 of us. The water in front of the beach was nice but there was no good snorkeling right there that I could find. they gave us a coupon for 1 drink each.

here is a link to my pictures from that trip. there are a few pics of the beach and more pics of the zipline.

Thank you so much!! With the online discount we would saving way more than the 15%, since most other zip n dips are least $65 pp and South Shore does $55 per adult $50 per child if you book in advance. I'm glad you had a great trip and the beach looked nice in your photos.

I think I'll just wait until it gets closer to book. According to cruisetimetables were are the only ship in port that day. Yeah!:D So it shouldn't be too crowded.

  2. I am looking for a zip n dip in Roatan for our December trip and South Shore looks great but I really don't like the 15% penalty for cancellations as stated on their website. Has anyone experienced this?

If the ship is sailing and stops at Roatan we'll be there, BUT if the ship (for some reason) doesn't stop or our tour is cancelled because of weather we lose 15%???

I'm interested in any other review of the zip n dip too. Which beach did you go to and what were the costs at the beach?

  3. Does anyone have any idea of the drink and food prices at the Palapa grill at Parrot Tree? We are thinking about doing the Zip N Dip with Pirates and they go to the Parrot Tree for the beach portion.

    Thanks.

  4. Was there anywhere close to have dinner? We are thinking about this hotel, but are also looking for a place to eat later on in the day of our arrival as we are flying in the day before the cruise.

The are plenty of places within a mile or so, the Arundel Mills Mall is very close and I believe the hotel offers their shuttle to take you to the restaurants and the mall. There is a Denny's actually adjacent to the hotel, but nothing else within walking distance.

If you flying in and want to stretch your legs, you could take the shuttle over to the mall and get some walking in while you decide what you would like to eat.

    Have a great cruise!

  5. When will you be staying there? I'm curious to hear your review...

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express BWI West the 19th of November. The hotel was clean, and was fine for the 1 night we stayed there. We had parking for the 10 days of our cruise. The breakfast in the morning was very nice with a lot of selection. The shuttle to and from the port worked out very well.

If you have any specific questions, just ask.

Definitely worth the $99 for the one night's stay to get the hotel, breakfast, parking, and shuttle for the 4 of us.

  6. We were on the same cruise as Judy but stayed at the Holiday Inn Express BWI West in Hanover. The hotel was fine not 5 star but not a dump either, the rooms were clean (did have flat screen TV, microwave and fridge in room). For $99 we got the shuttle to and from the port (about a 20 min ride) and parking for the 10 days. Breakfast is also included. There is also a Denny's attached to the hotel. The hotel offered a shuttle to restaurants and places within 5 miles. The hotel is located very near the Arundel Mills Mall so there is lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Would definite stay there again. Total price with tax was about $111. Much cheaper than the $150 it would have cost us just to park .

You had to book through the hotel to get the cruise, park, stay package.

  7. We were just there on the package -- hotel was fine, free parking was great, shuttle was practically nonexistent. There was no ordering of departures in the am, so quite a zoo of people. We waited about 45 min. outside in a line, saw only 1 shuttle going to the airport, and decided to share a taxi van to the cruiseport with another couple. Decided to take a cab ($30) back as well rather than wait for hours. At least the free parking for 11 days made up for it.

Thank you so much for some current information. What's amazing is this is one the hotels marketed for their stay park cruise package that INCLUDES the shuttle.

Makes me glad we looked a little further rather than just booking the easiest to find.

  8. We just booked the Holiday Inn Express BWI West near Arundel Mills mall. Through the hotel direct we found they offered up to 21 days of parking, shuttle to and from the port, and breakfast. Our rate was only $99 per night.

It seems a little farther from the port but it got better ratings than the Sleep and Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn Express that is near Camden Yards.

  9. Ok, I consider myself a key lime pie connoisseur and make a pretty good key lime pie myself but are going to be in Key West and would like to try some of theirs. I really don't like a sweet pie it's got to have a tart bite to it.. any suggestions???

Key lime juice from a bottle  :(!!! Why???? Fresh key limes are so readily available now at almost any grocery store and juice from a bottle doesn't come with the zest :D one of the best parts of the key lime.

  10. Fully obstructed view cabins on the Med. and Atlantica have a fully opening door to hear the ocean.

Fireofficier - How does this work?? Does it have the clear plexiglass like a regular balcony when you open the door?? Somehow it just doesn't sound safe.. but maybe it's just me. We have a obstructed oceanview cabin for our Thanksgiving cruise on the Atlantica. DH wants to know if he will be able to see the ocean at all or just hear it? Sounds very interesting.

    Thanks so much!
