Thank you. I plan to get milk from the lido for my medication each day. Hopefully it won't be in there too long during the day.
I hope whoever has my cabin before I board will be using it so it doesn't need that long to cool off

Your room steward is not the one responsible for bringing your room service orders. You would need to call for delivery each night and present at delivery since you have to sign the receipt. (I tried that, haha)
Not all cabins have a cooler/mini bar. Also they hope that when you sign for the order you will tip them for the delivery :-)

Do they have refrigerator type mini bars in the inside cabins on the Splendor? I haven’t been on her for a number of years
TIA

Got an email detailing the activity coming up. Mentioned Octoberfest but not Halloween!

We cruised after thanksgiving and they had Snow dropping in the atrium. No other decorations at that time.

Whenever I leave the cabin, my steward sees me. I always tell him where I'm heading (MDR or trivia) to give him some idea of how long I'll be gone. I like coming back at 10:30 to catch my soap operas, so I'll let him know how long I will be in there (1 hour 30 minutes)

They're returning to CA. They've had a few one off cruises over the years, repos to from Alaska.
Only Carnival stayed here during the bad times year round.
A friend did NCL from California to Hawaii. He wasn't impressed. So far Princess and Carnival are the only full time cruise lines out of southern CA. I haven't seen Royal Caribbean in some time

I received a note in the cabin which offered $100 casino Credits if i booked at a regular rate by a certain date. I booked It on board along with my next cruise in a few weeks.

Wow!! That's awesome good for you! I'm excited lol how much OBC or discount have you received so far?!
I got a $60 drop in just a week between booking and checking again. I took screen shots and emailed them to my PVP and he agreed. Final payment isn't until next month, so hopefully there will be more.

Three weeks from today on Ruby Princess. Halloween cruise

Ice bucket is stored in the cooler. The steward will fill the bucket and store it in the cooler

I would rather not, with the luggage restrictions etc, it costs a fortune on some airlines to bring more bags. I seriously consider going to Lido on formal nights, but usually I throw in a casual dress for myself and dockers and button shirt/tie for DH. Because I have to. The alternative, go to Lido.
That is very appropriate for elegant night. Go to MDR

The last time I cruised on Ruby, we performed music from Grease are they still doing it, or have they moved on to something else I figure I have a few weeks to warm up:cool:

The first time I saw it I had thought it was misprinted....
So if you don't hang a card they assume you are out of your room.... best use that extra lock on your door of you are in there taking a shower....
I noticed the same on the inspiration earlier this month. I miss it. I saw my steward on the way to breakfast to let him know we were out of the cabin to freshen up. It might be a coincidence, but it seems strange that when you have to chose morning or evening the hangers are also different

I've seen wedding parties in Long beach, meeting with their consultants in the VIFP lounge. Sometimes 2/3. at a time. none In Sept. They bring their wedding outfits, and look so nice. They board with their parties and guests. By the time i've boarded, one of the party rooms has a sign saying "private party." Sometimes the wedding party members stay in board for the full cruise and seem to have a blast.
I don't know about the ceremony itself.

I need cold milk at night for my medication. I ask the steward to bring me an ice bucket, and I get one of the milk cartons from the lido deck. If I bury it deep enough, it stays cold. If that doesn't work, I call room service and order cold milk, cookies, milk and a banana

Remember the days of the Past Guest/Patinum/Farewell parties? Man, I used to rack up some drinks. RIP to those days...
They buried the farewell party information in with the upcoming events on the first day events in the fun times. If you didn't see it then it was listed in the small print listing between trivia and dinner. Then they got rid of it because there was no interest. I loved watching the band and the dancing on the stage.
The only problem was the kids took over with their own style of dancing, bumping into the adults. They should have had their own party somewhere else.

Ruby has gelato mid-day to late night. I've heard it's not worth the money or calories

We booked two cruises on the Ruby while on board. I got a casino special with extra cash, which I used in March. And we booked the 3-fer cruise as our Halloween cruise. We got our favorite cabins, and even got OBC (early booking and through the sale). We just did the research on board and spoke to the future cruise hostess. Easy peasy

I like this post! It makes me think of the Love Boat TV show. I love watching those really old episodes.
People would just wander onto the ship, not producing any ID whatsoever, and just go to their cabin which was seemingly always unlocked "Come in, it's open".
The men dressed in tuxedos every night.
They flambeed things in the dining room. Giant flames everywhere!
Numerous ship staff wearing super short-shorts, men and women alike.
Strangers meeting each other and getting married at the end of the cruise.
I could go on an on. I always wish they would make throwback cruise that would be just like the old Love Boat show.
Anyway I digress. Thanks for this post it was well thought out.
Carnival does Legends cruises, longer that have throwback experiences from the 80s from extreme formal to games like horse racing and men wearing their partner's lingerie

Off topic, I loved the word binned and had no clue what it meant. My typo reading mind thought you meant banned so I just interjected banned for binned.
Now that I know I like it and it makes perfect sense. My grandmother used to call the trash can a trash bin.
Thank you teaching me something new. Knowledge is power

Soda and More Package Heads Up
in Princess Cruises
Posted
I am well over the age of consent, and for the past four cruises, I ordered the Sodas and more package due to my medications. (I don't like alcohol anyway). I have never seen milkshakes on the list, unless they were on the original package and I missed it I also thought it was a seasonal thing too. I order the sticker as soon as we book (at least a year in advance). I wish the order covered them, or at least the gelato.
