  1. I agree with frantic36. We were on Komodo Island in Feb. It is a rough track to see the dragons and you need to pay attention to the guides. We had two security guides carrying long sticks and a botanist. It was very hot one person fainted. Fortunately, our ship's dr was in his group and got him back to the ship. No bright colors, no open wounds - no kidding!!! They are large and very fast. I did not know they could climb trees!!! Exciting!

  2. TravelCat2,

Yes, I did this excursion in Helsinki. Hot outside like you are having so sort of a shock when we were ushered into a locker room to put on snowmobile type outfits with large boots and gloves. Very cold (zero?) inside the bar. Bar was ice, tables were ice, shot glasses were ice (cranberry vodka for me). Slippery but beautiful. There were also igloos inside and I went on a ride with the sled dogs also. Lots of fun.

I did not go on crabbing (in Honningsvag, I think). Friends said first onto the Zodiac boats, to the crab pots and then to the beach to cook and eat them. Can't get much fresher than that. Enjoy!

  3. It is not difficult to get a passport and is so much easier than carrying all other documents. I like that a passport shows where we have been. Just renew the passport and then you can go anywhere at any time (except those countries that require visas) without the worry. Have a wonderful cruise.

  4. I just finished watching the Viking video of the Star. Looks like a very nice ship with large public spaces (928 passengers), nice suites and restaurants. We would need to wait for her debut and learn about ambiance, crew, food, included items, etc. Only time will tell.

  5. We had an issue in July on our Baltic cruise on Sojourn. We expressed concern on the ship and again on the online survey when we returned. We received the "generic letter" and I did call the number given in the letter and left a message. One day later I received a call from someone from the corporate office. They expressed their understanding of my issue (most will guess what this was). Although it has not been resolved, the person I spoke with did understand and I felt I was at least listened to.

  6. Captain Green was our captain on our Feb. Sydney to Singapore cruise on the Voyager. He was delightful. He interacted with passengers all of the time and we had a great bridge tour with him. Very outgoing yet totally professional.
