ChicagoJohn,
We only cruise on Seabourn and Regent and were on Sojourn 21 days Jul-Aug. The food was very good as it is on Regent. I do not think you will be disappointed. We are not Restaurant 2 fans but enjoyed all other venues.
Remember, you can always ask for what you want, just like on Regent. Some of our cruises Seabourn we feel is better and sometimes Regent. It is all good. Enjoy!

Dear Poss,
I can relate to your circumstances and hope that all works out for you. I had severe back pain before our July Norway trip and all we had was evacuation insurance with good insurance back in the US. The "pre-existing" problem is very difficult to figure out. We wish you well, Patti and Bruce

Travelcat2, we were in 765 (more aft than mid). DH is still working so needed to be in touch. Fortunately we had 3 hrs of free phone.

We just returned from 18 days on the Voyager and found the wifi pretty good in public spaces but essentially unusable in our suite (midship penthouse). It was not a slow bandwidth problem but the total inability to login to the Voyager system itself. We have sailed on the Voyager a number of times in the past and this had never been a problem before. When asked on the second day of the cruise, the tech person stated that there was a problem with connectivity in suites following the "upgrade". She instructed us to try to leave our door open and, if that did not work try to connect in the hall. Apparently this was told to others as many were sitting in the halls with notebooks or tablets.
Both iPad and Macbook worked great in the Horizon Lounge.

People in CO may be pretty mellow these days as the shops have opened a few months ahead of WA. No weapons should be needed. AWED, we have spent many wonderful Autumn days on San Juan Island.

6:25 p.m. EST in U.S. will be around mid-day on Feb 3 for those of us who will be in Australia. TPAtravelfan, it looks like there will be at least 4 Broncos fans present.

We will be on this cruise as well and are wondering the same thing. Perhaps someone from Regent can respond.
Obviously, living in Colorado, we would like to see a Broncos win.

Markham,
May I gently state that Mr. Luxury is correct. Who is the subjective case (who is at the door) and whom is the objective case (to whom, for whom).

SaskAries,
Yes, this is security measure so that the captain or first officer can use the restroom.

Sorry.

We have chosen the Harbour Rocks Hotel for 1/30-31. Can someone suggest good restaurants close by? Thanks for all info.

oregon50, thank you for the information.

Agree completely with nana541. If this practice becomes prevalent on Regent, we will move on.

I always pack a pair of nice white pants. Enjoy your trip!

oregon50,
I am curious as to where you got this information? As i said in a previous post, this past July-Aug, this did not take place in any restaurant on Sojourn.

We have been on two Seabourn cruises (both on Sojourn =38 days) and never ever had anyone ask for our suite number. I wonder if this is just a different practice of the dining room mangers. Would put us off a bit.

We did this cruise this July-August. Go to the Ports section of CC. Lots of good info that we used to make plans. It is a beautiful cruise.

TravelCat2,
The activities and menu sound wonderful. Enjoy!

We are currently running out of pages in our passports. Some countries require two face to face pages, so not so eager to get stamps. Also, when entering the U.S. two years ago, an immigration agent was very grumpy about asking why we had so many stamps in our passports. When I explained that we were cruising, he made some sort of comment about why we were not in the U.S. Just a grumpy guy!

Travecat2,
Thank you for the info. We are very much looking forward to our 4th or 5th cruise on the Voyager. Also, thank you for your posts. They are very informative.

Happy New Year, Poss!
We stayed at what was then the Paris Hilton, it is not anymore. It was one block from Eiffel Tower, close to great bistros, but do not know what it is called now. If we were to go back, we would choose the Marriot Champs-Elysses. Great location and under 350 eu.
I wish you a wonderful trip and we really want to go back to Paris soon. Bruce says Hi!

We board in Sydney on 2/1 and some of this info is making us nervous. Hopefully someone from Regent is reading this thread and will contact the GM onboard and correct the problems.

We have thoroughly enjoyed cruising on Seabourn and find the service to be absolutely beyond compare. Being from Colorado where smoking is considered to be extremely foul and totally banned from all public spaces, we have little tolerance for the odor second hand smoke. To be honest, we have encountered significant problems with smokers in the Observation Lounge but are hoping that the new policy will go a long way toward eliminating the issue, at least for pre-dinner cocktails.
We have never experienced any odor of smoke in our cabin. The new ban could, unfortunately push more people to balconies which would be a problem if you had a neighbor who chooses to smoke. While we hope that a total ban will come about in the future, Seabourn is so exceptional that we will continue to sail with them and, in fact, have 21 days booked on the Odyssey for next summer.
Do you disinfect your cabin upon arrival?

Yes, we do. I have disinfecting wipes and wipe the remote, phones, all exposed surfaces. Then always wash my hands the minute in return to my suite.
