  1. Tonight’s Dinner is Gumbae. This is the last restaurant I haven’t tried. From this point on, I won’t have as many food pictures as it will just be things i haven’t tried. Menu. This menu was a little different. I actually took a photo instead of scanning them. Its only the food part. If people want drink menus, let me know and I will hunt them down as well. Sides. It’s not on the menu and I don’t remember what they are. Kimchi is one. Potato salad another. Forever crispy chicken. Spicy but good. Nori rice crisps. They remind me of shrimp chips in Chinese cuisine. Seafood corndogs. This was interesting. Kimchi stew. This was too spicy for me. I missed the meet platter. It was cooked in front of us. I’ll get it next time. Dulce de Leche macaroon. Not on menu. This was just a fun meal.
  2. Continued. Tonight was the first night I saw a production show called Ships in the Night. The show was phenomenal!!! But I did find some flaws where here, in general, I think Royal Caribbean does better. But let me do a photo dump here. I feel the cast is smaller here. Only 1 principal singer vs Royal’s usual 4. Plus they have more backup dancers. They don’t use live music but recorded music. The set is dependent on screens as oppose to actual built sets on Royal. However, what they did with it was amazing. This was a solid show. But i think Royal, at the very least, has more to work with and they have the potential to do a lot more. This shows on Oasis Class and Quantum Class where they have full broadway productions such as We will rock you and Mama Mia. So in this aspect, I think Royal edges out slightly on this. But this is based on one production show. I believe there is another later.
  3. The pools are small. Fortunately I’m not a pool guy so this does not affect me. I think the track is kind of cool. Here’s the Perch. and miscellaneous I didn’t get a pool deck shot. I will rectify that later.
  4. That would be lost on me. Still, if i still have some, i may splurge on it. Theres also a $29.00 popsicle i might try.
  5. Another fairly lazy day. I was a bit afraid I wouldn’t have much to write about but here we are, Day 6 and there‘s still stuff to write about. I kind of had a conflict. Two shows i wanted to see but I would have to sacrifice parts of the one show for another. Comedian Andre Vincent was at 6. If i stayed for his whole show, I ran the risk of not getting a seat for the 7 show, Ships in the Night. He was fun, but nothing spectacular. I decided to sacrifice the last 15 minutes to get a seat at Ships in the Night in the Red Room. Continued on next post.
  6. As we were walking out of the show, We walked by this Its not labeled but it appears you and Odyssey are now ahead. Still, GO TEAM SCARLET LADY.
  7. The first time I realized it was on my last Royal cruise last year to Greenland on Jewel. I heard it is not always available and is dependent on how many Diamonds and above are sailing. If there are larger amounts, they allow it to alleviate the Diamond lounge rush for coffee. This is what I heard but the reason I knew about the coffee bonus was because they left a note in our cabin the first day. This post got lost as I posted this earlier.
  8. I’m behind on my Bar Tab. I don’t normally drink. Royal Caribbean’s Diamond Plus benefits of 5 drinks a day us hard for me. Here, outside of Test Kitchen’s wine pairing, i haven’t drank much. As a result, I still have over $500 on my bar tab that they gave me. So here’s my start. Berry me at Sea. Here’s the menu here for boozy floats. Good price too. Wife had the Skinny Pie on the first day.
  9. YMMV, but I found the coffee credit counts towards customization like extra shots of espresso!!!
  10. Seriously funny interaction at the Galley. For my Royal fans who have not been on here, the Galley is essentially the Windjammer. Except that you can order from your seat and they bring it to you. I ordered the Thai Ramen and an al pastor taco. He tells me the taco place doesn’t open until noon. I say ok, don’t worry about it. Noon passes and i lift the flag up to order the tacos. He walks by and goes “tacos?”. 😂
  11. Dinner took longer than expected. Mostly because we kept talking to our neighboring table. When we got out, we easily missed the show so we ended up at the Karaoke with the Happenings Cast. Happenings is pretty much the collective cruise director staff as they don’t have 1 specific cruise director. I left and went the Heartbeat party. Volume matters. Its MUCH louder in the Manor than Royal. But i think sound quality is just as important. This is inside the club. Nonetheless, the energy level is unheard of on other cruises. I was telling a friend that I missed this. I haven’t felt like this is many many years. This is my crowd. This is my music scene. Its got just the right amount of density.
  12. Good Morning from Virgin wants me off the ship 🤪 Its a glitch considering we’re over 1000 miles from Bermuda and still got two more sea days before our first stop i think. We lost an hour again. Its gonna hurt when i get it back. Still got 3 more to go. Last night’s dinner was Extra Virgin. I think this maybe my favorite but i still have Gumbae to try. Menu Shark Coochy Board. Its everything from the Affettati Misto selection. Chicken Liver Mousse. Totally decadent. Love this. Crispy Artichoke. Love this too. It took a little to figure out how to eat it. I had Beef Carpaccio too but missed the photo somehow. I’ll get it again, but surprisingly, I liked Royal’s Carpaccio better, especially the one in Chops. But its still good. Gnocchi. Texture is wrong. Too mushy but tasted good. New York Strip. This was also very tasty. Dessert Menu Tiramisu. Not on the menu. Amazing Chestnut Castagnaccio. This was the only ok thing.
  13. This was my Taco. Taco Chewbacca was his name. Apparently all my pets have middle names too. He tolerated me at best. He came over when I married my wife and he lived 9 years with us before he passed in 2021. For him, Covid was a gift because someone was with him constantly for the last 9 months of his life.
  14. Yes and No. We did request it but they won’t do it if that little ledge next to the bed is occupied as they don’t want to move your stuff. Also, on their ipad, there’s a video on how to do it on your own. It apparently is pretty easy. The ipad has a specific option to request it as well as a guide on how to do it yourself. When i requested it to be made back to the bed, our room steward was knocking on the door like a minute later.
  15. My wife is finding Virgin to be FAR superior in giving her options. There’s been a couple of slips, but for example, there is gluten free pizza here that in her opinion is indistinguishable from a normal crust. Add to the fact that the pizza on here just blew away everyone. I mean, this pizza rivals pizza you get on land restaurants. The low points really is they keep overcooking the fish and my wife also does not eat red meat. A friend of mine just asked me a couple minutes ago “do you miss escargot” which i’m crazy about on Royal. Answer. Nope. I got so many other available options, I really don’t. Thats saying a lot!
  16. Hmm, for some reason, my post of a couple days ago asking if you stopped in Bermuda for some reason as we pulled away didn’t post. 🙁 I finally caught up on your thread as I’m busy with mine and saw why. So how are you handling the extended sea days? I’m feeling like a pig and its catching up to me. It’s like perpetual food coma… I think you’re over the horizon somewhere as i’m pretty sure you’re north of us. One little thing about Virgin I don’t like. There’s no info like on your ship. You have a map that shows where you are, I gotta rely on Google Maps to find me. And what’s worse! NO WEATHER REPORT or sunrise/sunset info. I gotta come on your thread and pull that info from your cruise compass!!! 🤬
  17. Oh, forgot to add in the Razzle Dazzle post. There’s a bar in the back people can go to.
  18. Brunch was hard as I had Reservations at Razzle Dazzle at 11am after dropping asleep at almost 5am because of the movie. I didn’t get a picture of the restaurant last time. Brunch Menu Apple Cruffin The neighboring table got the watermelon & sesame cream. Its huge!! Mushroom tartare. It was ok. Sunny side scramble. This was decent. Razzle Dazzle cake. This was yummy but I was really really full at this point. And i also got the rainbow churros because i’m a pig. I may have gotten too much food. As I was still groggy, I returned to the Grounds club. The espresso martini had a cold brew in its ingredients but when I asked for it, they didn’t have it. Its not on the menu, but wasn’t it on the menu before? I thought i saw it online somewhere.
  19. I will definitely check it out. I missed the club night on Tuesday as I checked out early. It looked generic but i wanted to see how a generic club looked like. Do all the club nights have themes?
  20. I had a late night last night. After the concert, I went back to the room. The in-room movies are cool. There are a handful of movies on my watchlist that are here but I am currently unable to stream. I may have mentioned I saw Ferrari. Last night, it was the new Hunger Games movie, Ballad of songbirds and Snake. Did not realize it was a long 2 hour 37 minute movie. So i ended up going to sleep after 4am. Fortunately, we did not lose an hour this night.
