  1. based on the statement today our Alaska May 16 cruise Is canceled.

    I didn’t receive an email.

should I contact my travel agent,  Costco and have them cancel?

or should I go on the princess website and use their form to cancel?

I guess there’s also the option of calling princess directly?  but I assume their line will be quite busy.  Never had to cancel a  cruise before just wondering those with experience might advise which way they think will be the best way to cancel.
    thanks

  2. Alaskan cruises May or June 2021?
trying to rebook my canceled cruise from this year and I’m wondering why I do not see any for May or June 2021.

the earliest cruise to Alaska is in July 2021?

in the past princess has sailed in May and June any ideas why no Sailings  next year at that time.?

I think that the OP is just asking for it to be spelled out in detail, because I myself have a 5/13/20 Alaskan cruise booked.  It is confusing when you refer to original cancellation dates and fees on the original contract and then try to figure out the new dates from the temporary cancellation policy.  Some may not want their money tied up in FCC for future use, but I understand the confusion.  Right now we are at only losing $100/pp deposit for cancellation, and I guess he's wondering if that would be applied to the FCC (as the cancellation fee).  I interpret that yes whatever your cancel fees would be normally they can be transferred to FCC for another time and the rest returned to original form of payment.  Does this make sense?

Yes, cancellation fees or deposit back and future cruise credit the amount paid to the cruise back on my credit card as long as I cancel 72 hours before we sell correct or how you think it is?

I read this and maybe I’m just slow to understand.

    • Princess plans to resume Cruise Operations on May 11, 2020.
    • Cruise with Confidence is extended to cruises sailing through July 31, 2020 (previously May 31, 2020).
    • On these cruises, you can now cancel your vacation up to 48 hours before sailing (previously 72 hours).
    • You will continue to receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for the amount of your cancellation fee.
    • when I read this I can see I’m going to get the cancellation fees back in future cruise credit that’s fine but what  about amount I paid for the cruise is that also future cruise credit doesn’t say if I will get it back to my credit card
  5. i’m totally confused on the cancellation policy from princess cruise lines.

This cruise has not been canceled by the cruise lines yet though I expect it will be.

does anyone know if I cancel this cruise now will I get the money refunded back to my credit card and just the cancellation fees as future cruise credits??

or will I be getting the entire amount back as a future cruise credit??

    thank you

  6. I know that usually when you book and pay for an excursion you get an email immediately saying you’ve booked it.

well I just went in and canceled my Alaskan excursions but I don’t see an email saying I canceled ?

does it take longer to get that type of email?

I just want to make sure they know it’s canceled and they refund the money I paid.

I doubt our cruise will go forward even though it was for late May because Canada is not allowing ships to dock and that was one of our ports for Alaska trip.

  7. I read were some of the ports are not allowing ships to dock with the Alaskan cruise season coming what’s the latest news on Victoria and Vancouver allowing cruise ships to dock?

  8. Does anyone know how soon the onboard credit for not canceling your cruise will show up on your account??

we have a late May cruise,  I was hoping they would automatically add the $200 credit so I could use it immediately on shore excursions.

  9. Onboard credit Can I use it to book excursions online?  It’s been a while since I’ve sailed princess in the past you couldn’t use onboard credit for shore excursions until you actually embark on the ship.

in looking at a couple of posts it seems that you can now do that??

  10. I hope your granddaughters have so much fun! This last time, the characters really came alive for my son— he was such a flirt with Minnie and Daisy, it was hilarious! We were on a seven day cruise, so we had a a Disney Junior character breakfast one day. You’ll get an assigned ticket for this. Also be sure to sign up for the princess meet and greets— these are hosted at various times during the cruise, but you’ll need a ticket. I’m embarrassed to say I’m not 100% sure how to do this— my husband has always handled it.

We had a balcony stateroom and it was fine— no safety concerns. My son slept on the sofa, and the stateroom attendant put up a bed rail each night for him, which was perfect. Meals for us are always a trial— my husband has numerous food allergies and my son is super picky, but the dining room staff were great and accommodated us as best they could. (We register my husbands allergies in advance and he sees the next day’s menu the night before. Disney is great with allergies if this is a concern of yours.) my son went to the kids club a few times. The Wonder has this cute Toy Story themed indoor slide and jungle gym. The staff in the kids club was very sweet and helpful. You’ll want to utilize the Navigator app on your phone, as the club will use this to text you (Disney also provides in cabin wave phones to use while on board but I prefer my own phone so typically will text through the app).

This last cruise, we were in the Caribbean and so did not do any ship sponsored excursions as we’d been to both islands numerous times (in our case Puerto Rico and St Maarten), but we have done Disney sponsored excursions in the past and they’ve been fine. We don’t travel with a car seat, so we just hold tight and say a prayer, but I know others do and I’m sure you can find other posts on this. We travel with an umbrella stroller— we have an Uppababy Glite which is very light and stows away easily.

What else? I just typed some general thoughts. My son loved the family pool, but I hated it. Too many children sloshing around, lol! FYI, the lifeguards did call for safety checks every so often, making the children get out of the water to rehydrate or take a little break. My son is used to this because our neighborhood pool also requires it, but many other littles were upset. Something to talk through with your granddaughters in preparation if they need it.

Wow, thank you for taking the time to provide so much information I truly appreciate it .

we were thinking the day we board the ship we would go straight to the splash pad I will pack the girls swimsuits in a backpack let them play around grab a table so we can watch them and my husband would go to the buffet and get some lunch & bring it back to the table does that sound like a reasonable plan or do you think it would be better to all go to the buffet at one time have our lunch and then head off to the splash pad just wondering how crowded the seating gets on embarkation day we are concierge class so we will be boarding the ship first .

The girls are pretty good little swimmers but I thought we’d save the visit to family pool for the following day or later in the day .

  11. We have had door magnets on all our Disney cruises. I cheated and ordered my “nice” ones from an Etsy shop...BUT at an onboard crafting class, we made little homemade magnets with craft magnets, and these stuck just fine to our door. Also, the magnet I bought in the onboard gift shop was on our door, too, this last cruise... Not sure about Concierge, though.

    Thank you for your response

  12. does anyone know if the doors on that ship are magnetic thinking of decorating the door but I understand some of the ships have wooden doors ??

We are in concierge class if that makes any difference as to what type of door we might have .

  13. On our last Wonder cruise in March, we were able to get right down front next to the rope for the sail away party. My four year old loved it. I was surprised that there wasn’t a crush of people, and we just stayed for the character appearance then left to look around elsewhere.

We took an autograph book and my son got autographs from nearly every character, so I definitely recommend this! Some “paired” characters like Hook and Smee signed on the same page, for example, so we had plenty of room.

    Thanks

We’re taking our twin granddaughters Age 31/2 so if you have any other tips or things about the ship you think we should know I’d really appreciate any suggestions you have to offer

  14. Just curious where a 3 1/2 year old will be that they need their card when you won't be available to carry it?

definitely not going to be away from them I just didn’t know if toddler on the ship used Disneyland landyards or not first time on a Disney cruise .

  15. The Concierge Lounge on both the Wonder and Magic overlook the Quiet Cove (adult pool) area. The sail away party takes place at the family pool, so you won't have any view of it from the Lounge.

Thank you for your response at least I know where not to go .
