    Update:

The revised itinerary now shows up when I logged into my wife's account just now.

Still no direct notification from the cruise line.  Probably due to the fact we booked though a TA?

Hi Dry Creek Longhorns, we're Mad Creek Longhorns from Oregon.  Booked this cruise last minute at the promptings of my cousin, so I thought I'd look into Cruise Critic for some info on the Vista and your posting caught my eye.  Looking forward to getting away from all our rain. Perhaps we'll run into each other on the cruise and swap longhorn stories.

  2. We were on the last sailing in Alaska.  First time on NCL, sailed previously on the same lines you listed.  The Bliss is a beautiful ship.  We were on deck 14 port side, midship, and found this location to be great for access to Observation Lounge and buffet, and we had no trouble taking the stairs from decks 7 on up for other venues.  We did Teppanyaki, Ocean Blue, and Q for the specialty dining.  I would prefer doing Cagney's, Le Bistro or La Cucina over Q, wasn't impressed with food or service there. The Jersey Boys was excellent for ship entertainment.  The Bliss was probably the cleanest ship I've been on, and my inlaws wanted to purchase whatever product they used to clean the staterooms, the soft fragrance was very nice.  We've always had assigned time dining, so freestyle was new to us.  We only ate at Savor once, the rest of our group preferred the buffet for dinner, and I must say the food and choices there were very good.  We will sail Bliss again for sure!

  3. We just got off the bliss today. The crew are going do a little cleaning and a staff party prior to picking you guys up tomorrow. They were filming commercials during our sailing that affected access to certain areas but I think they will be done with that when you board. Aft elevator use or stairs instead of forward elevators REALLY helps with ease of getting around the ship. Forward elevators pretty packed. Beautiful ship and we enjoyed our first big ship experience. Found it very easy to get around onboard. We didn’t experience any issues getting race track ressies and specialty dining times. We really enjoyed speciality venues and the Local. Have a great time!

We were on this sailing also. Second trip to Alaska, first time on Norwegian, and loved the experience. Bliss is a beautiful ship, we spent a lot of time in the Observation Lounge with 4 other family members. Great place to visit and play games. Food was excellent, and staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved the hand washing stations at the entrance to the buffet, and we're still saying "washy, washy". Jersey Boys was a great entertainment choice. A bit disappointed in the glacier since we'd seen Hubbard on our first time to Alaska. Will definitely sail on Bliss again.

  4. Good Advice! My sister just got off the Bliss last Saturday, they did not plan ahead. By the time they were onboard, 11:30a.m., gokarts, laser tag, Jersey Boys and most of the excursions they had been looking at were already fully booked. It was their first time on a 4,000 passenger ship, lesson learned.

I am booked on the Bliss for 9/22-29, and just an fyi if you book Teppanyaki for the 5:30 seating you will not be able to book the 7:30 show for Jersey Boys online. It's billed as a 2hr dining experience ending at 7:30pm and the computer says you have a conflict with another item scheduled for that time. We'll need to hurry once onboard to get our theater tickets!

  5. We had our room steward open ours on the Magic 12/16-23. My cousin was in the cabin next to ours and we wanted to mingle. Our steward said it all depends on if the open divider would block either door. Fortunately, it only blocked a portion of their window.

  6. Sailing on Bliss 9/22-29/18, second trip to Alaska. I agree balcony is the way to go for Alaska. We spent a lot of time on our balcony the first time we sailed Alaska. The observation deck looks beautiful, but if it gets as crowded as the one on our Panama Canal Cruise, you might miss some beautiful sights.

  7. We were in Grand Turk on our Dec. 16-23 Magic cruise. They have changed since we were there in April 2016. The only free chairs are the ones without the clamshells. The first three rows of chairs close to the water have clamshells covering them and it was $30 to rent two of them. I think you can bargain with the guy collecting the money, as the couple next to us got two for $25. If you have children who want to be close to the water, it is best to rent.

  8. We were on the 12/2 sailing and my fiance came down with the flu on the second to last night, she was diagnosed when we got home. I know about 10-15 from the other sites group that were sick as well.

We were on the 12/16-23 sailing. Hubby and I got sick on the 25th and are still miserable. Didn't see as many employees cleaning the handrails as we do on other Carnival ships, and each night someone at our table of 12 seemed to have the sniffles or didn't show up for dinner because they weren't feeling well. Hope they can get this bug under control.

  9. We're doing the Bliss(first time on Norwegian) with Hubby's two sisters and their husbands, who have never been on a cruise. We're having a little get-together to go over all the important stuff, and I've made up a bon voyage bag with little incidentals that we've found helpful on our previous cruises. Having never sailed Norwegian before, all the info I'm finding on this site has been very helpful.

Fortunately, one of his sisters and BIL are planners. You can only do so much to ensure they have a good time, the rest is up to them. Have a great cruise!

  10. Thank you for your review. We sail on Magic in 2 weeks. Staying at the Radisson, will check out the Sheraton for next time. Sure wish our cruise had Half Moon Cay, we're going to Nassau and Freeport, been to both before so might just stay onboard. So very sad to see the damage on Grand Turk and can only imagine what San Juan and St. Thomas look like. We're way aft on Starboard side so hope movement doesn't annoy us. I have seasick wristbands that work well, just haven't had to use them in a while. Will definitely pack them. Bummer that they haven't done anything about the thick smoke in the casinos. I enjoy the slots, but last year had to leave early because it was getting hard to breathe. Looking forward to this trip, and your information was very helpful.

  11. We had a gentleman on our Glory cruise a couple of years back that had an absolutely beautiful Labrador service dog. The gentleman was blind, and his service dog was so well trained that you wouldn't even know he was in the dining room. I think it's wonderful that everyone can enjoy a Carnival cruise!

  12. It was $95.00 pp on the Dream earlier this month. We thought it was well worth it to see the ship from a different perspective. Nice little memento's included 2 pictures, carved swan made of soap, ball cap, small backpack, lanyard, and champagne and mimosa's at the end of the tour. There were also sweet rolls and beverages while waiting for the tour to begin, and cookies in the galley area. Don't know if price is based on size of ship or not.
