Dockers are fine if you are elderly - that is the general observation where I work

As long as they do not ask me to order drinks for them. And yes that has happened to me
I think that has happened to everyone who has ever purchased a drink package.

Confused - people are upset because they tried to scam the Internet package and are not allowed to scam it?

North Americans will be dressed very casually. If there are any Europeans, even in their most casual clothing - will look like they are walking down the catwalk at Fashion Week in Paris.
It is very easy to distinguish between Italians, French, Germans, Spaniards, and those from the Benelux countries. Each is quite distinctive - sadly -we North Americans are slovenly in comparison.

Truly though - what are you expecting for $50 per person? A grand / penthouse suite?

Or you can just avoid all of the preparations and purchase 12 cans on board.

One of the people in my group recently disembarked on day 5 of a 10 day Norwegian sailing. It was her first cruise and she couldn’t handle the seasickness.
what can we expect in terms of refunds for the following (all prepaid)
gratuities
Port fees and taxes
spa thermal pass
TIA
Perhaps you should have asked prior to the disembarkation instead of asking after the fact.

Yes it seems totally unusual that the affected cruiser was allowed to disembark (assuming it was somewhere in North America) without any financial repercussions. Perhaps the OP could provide some further details.

For Canadians we pay slightly more - I believe it was $65 CAD per day last August - but truly worth it at the old price (and the new price)
Sincerely - One of the 70%.

Venice as a port is not going to happen either.

Where then do companies get revenue from, if not from customers? Cost cutting doesn't produce revenue.
It is not just about revenue. For profit maximization to occur, a firm must maximize revenue and minimize costs.

I wonder where all the -“we dock at 7am - can I make a 9am flight” posters are today?

Couple of other Sky specific comments:
No Lavazza coffee yet.
No coke zero. But did have sprite zero.
In the buffet, one coffee machine not working on one side, and ice machine not working on the other. Fix these Princess.
Also, for ice on that side, they had a plastic bin with a scoop, so people were putting their hands in the bin to grab the scoop.
At the retreat pool today, workers were trying to pull the overhead lights down and knocked several bulbs into the pool when people were swimming. You would think they would either do this when the pool isn't in use or have deck hands get people out of the pool for a few minutes. One bulb almost his a guy and they had no idea it had even fell till we got their attention.
Re Lavazza - not sure why people continue to think Lavazza is the be all and end all of coffee. In Italy it is the equivalent of a house brand - the North American equivalent of Folgers or Maxwell house. Lavazza is what we give to generic visitors when we dont want to waste our good coffee on them.

@NutsAboutGolf - a very good post that creates food for thought. Should Celebrity, and others, create a major refund rule /option it will come as either an additional option like insurance (which truly nobody would elect to pay for), or higher cruise fares for all to compensate for the potential risk. Which becomes the better option?

Or just be happy with the cabin category and price that you booked at.

Which brings me to my next question. Does HAL have Riedel glasses on board, and if so, are they only for the premium wines, AND which Riedel collection? What glassware is used for non-premium wine? (I actually think Zwiesel is perfectly fine for daily wine on a cruise so I would be happy with that.)
Hmmm I cant say for certain if they were Riedel….. on the Noordam in the Pinnacle, as I was leaving with my unfinished glass of wine, the hostess stopped me and swapped out the Pinnacle glass for a regular glass.

@DownByTheSea - did you price out an equivalent high season Greek Isles cruise in July or August 2024? Or did you just pick the random - lowest of the low season Greek Isle price for March 2024?
If your rerouted cruise was more expensive than the one originally booked and altered, I assume that you would have been first in line to make up the cost differential.
Celebrity, Norwegian, Oceania (and others) - perusing these cruise boards it seems that none of them have dealt with it in a way that all disrupted passengers were satisfied. But at the end of the day they all had to deal with a truly unexpected situation at the drop of a hat, and there is no way everyone will be happy with the resolutions.

Supply and Demand!

One other nerve wracking thing about air travel using airline passes, you could be taken off the plane at any time until the doors closed. If the airline needed to accommodate those last minute passengers, or connecting passengers, passengers arriving late, etc. we frequently got bumped.

Thank you for the clarification and bringing this to our attention. And yes, mistakes do happen, so it is always wise to check your statement regularly.

Also one thing about the interline rate regarding cruise fares - I do recall that one of the limitations was that gratuities were mandatory - opting out was not an option.

“Travel Professionals” includes pilots, baggage handlers, gate agents, stewards / stewardesses, etc. Even people who are airport employees - Ie you are employed by Toronto Pearson ( and not a subcontractor). I dated an Air Canada gate agent for several years and fortunately - during that time - was able to take advantage of those fantastic interline rates.

Promenade deck for sure.

If someone is concerned with the possible ramifications of overbooking - then quite simply don’t book a guarantee. If finances require you to book a guarantee, then you will have to live with whatever certainty may - or may not exist. Nobody has a crystal ball to predict the future.
