1) if you have a cash account then they will not let you charge more than what you give them in cash.

 

2) if you use a card, for the most part they will know if your card is good as they will charge bit by bit as the week goes on. Is it possible that someone spend more than their available credit? Sure. And there have been a couple stories here. But I think it is very rare. As they know what they are doing. An aside: this is one reason why they suggest you do not use a debit card.

I have been on a few cruises and learned fast about settling up the night before debarkation. :eek:

My question is has anyone ever been suprised by there final bill and not have enough cash and credit to settle up? Im sure it has to happen but what happens if you just cant pay your bill?

Travel insurance is pretty much of question of whether you can afford to eat the cost of anything that might happen along the way causing you to lose money. Flying in the same day is risky. You pretty much have to plan a minimum of 1½ hours from the scheduled landing time for getting to the pier. I would not do that especially during winter months.

My cruise leaves Feb 29th. I have been thinking allot about weather delaying our flight as we booked it for the same day (we fly in to miami at 1030am).

Does anyone recommend getting travel insurance just in case or should we roll the dice?

What is the normal cost for a taxi ride from the Miami airport to the dock for a family of 5. Should i make those reservations in advance?

Also im going to be in a suite is this something the cruise line can set up for me?

You can not do this online with Ncl. They need your card and your kids cards to register your kids. It's usually the first thing we do when we get onboard to avoid the queues later.

Cruising on the Sky, is there a list of daily activities the kids do?
