I'll fly into to San Francisco a day or 2 early next Feb. for the RT Hawaii cruise.

 

I know that I can get a Princess transfer from ship to airport AFTER the cruise, but what about BEFORE? Or is that available only on the day of embarkation?

We too are on the Hawaii cruise Feb 27 , we have a transfer to the airport at the end of the cruise but Princess do not offer transfers beforehand unless you book a hotel through them , I have just cancelled our hotel booking with them although a fab hotel I wanted to be in Fishermans Wharf , they do not offer a transfer from the airport or an excursion with transfer at the end so we will be at the airport super early after our cruise as our flight isnt until 17.30 , we are paying 20 GBP each for the transfer ship to airport

We are in the same boat (literally) as we live on our yacht from April to September and it is very annoying not to be able to access the UK website as one cannot even see what cabins are available by doing a trial (false) booking.

 

I also find it annoying that the Wifi on Brittany Ferries always takes you to the US site.

 

As a result, I very much empathise with your situation and, I will make a note of posting if anything happens after I get back to the UK on September 15, though until then I am in the same boat as you.

 

One option you also have is to register with someone like CruiseKings, who will e-mail you all the deals Princess pass to them. I used to book with them but now book directly with Princess as, in the UK, there is no longer any financial incentive to use a TA and if you do you use one you then find it difficult to deal directly with Princess as they insist you contact them through the TA.

I agree about the cabins too , in UK you can make a trial booking as you say and see exactly what cabins are left , I have someone on my Hawaii rollcall from UK and she has posted what cabins are still available for our cruise , it seemed about half are left in all catagories so hopefully a sale may happen soon , I just don't want to be the last to find out about it !!

I normally book Princess EZ air because I shop around and they are normally comparable to the airline sites BUT nobody on here has mentioned yet that if you book with Princess and there are any issues involving your flight then they will get you to the ship or the next port of call at no extra expense to yourself , we once waited in Jamaica for an extra day for a whole plane of Princess passengers from Manchester , we were all given 100 USD OBC for the inconvenience and missed going to the Dominican Republic which we were'nt so fussed on going to anyway , win win

Saying that I have booked connecting flights from France(where we live) going to Heathrow then on to SFO for next February directly with BA as it was

500 cheaper than going directly from Heathrow or with Princess but as we are going 3 days earlier than the cruise we are hoping if there are any problems with the flights because of weather , strikes etc then we will have time to still get to the ship

Just an update , I had sent all my details by post to the address in Italy and within 4 days I have had an email confirming our 75 euros OBC and they recommend in the email to confirm with reception on boarding:D

OK , thank you , I have sent my shares certificate directly to Costa with all our details , hopefully will get an email confirmation for my credit but will take it on board just in case too

Wow you must have had quite a few avios points , I have managed to get some savings off our next BA flight in February with some avios , but some of our flights were put against our Qantas FF program and I am trying to contact Qantas to have them removed so as I can put them on my avios account but they dont seem too keen to answer my emails , will have to look for a contact phone number for them

a stopover in London heathrow at the Sofitel in T5 for an amazing £10!!! The Sofitel OMG it IS WONDERFUL!!! Best ever ever ever airport hotel!

When we were booking direct with Costa the rep told us that she could not eat in the buffet if she went GF , only in the dining room , I thought this was strange as surely she would know herself what she could eat or not but they stated that they would not allow her , I think it was to ensure that there were no comebacks on them , just in case she ate something that made her ill . Saying that I am not sure how they would know where she ate as its not as if they ask your cabin numbers in the buffet

We too have booked our more luxury cruises but like to go on a cheapie in between too , we sailed Costa last year and are booked on Magica for October in a premium balcony , we had an upsell for 65 pounds each , seemed a very good deal . Sounds like you had a good time , my friend is gluten intolerant and on Costa last year they were so good , she had GF bread each meal , which was a lot softer and nicer than the normal bread and lots of choice with the menu but if she stated GF she was not allowed to eat in the buffet with us . We have found that a lot of the passengers on the cheaper cruises do tend to be much ruder , and the continentals seem to think that the non smoking rules etc do not apply to them and can be quite arrogant

Google ATVO bus , this is the company that does the airport runs 10 euros one way or 18 return , Ryanair sell them on board , you can buy them online or at the airport when you land , they stop at Piazzale Roma where you then pick up the monorail for the cruise terminals , it took an hour but they meet each flight as it arrives then leaves so no hanging around , we will be on the Magica in October

I always book directly with Princess UK and whenever I have spotted a cheaper price or other perks I phone up and they have always matched or bettered the offer including OBC , TA's do not work for nothing so you must be paying a bit extra along the way somewhere IMHO

We want to do this cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2017 and were wavering between avalon and viking , preferred the Avalon cruise so this has swayed us now , thanks for the review

Is all the alcohol , wine , beer and cocktails included in the price in the evenings too or just with your meal ? What do you do in the evenings after dining ?

We need to get to the office of the PWF 30 mins before the whale watch tour starts so we just need to know how long it would take us to get from the tender dock to their office if indeed this is where we will get dropped off following the Princess snorkel cruise , we do not want to be taken back to the ship

Does anybody know please where you get dropped off after the snorkelling tour at 1.30 pm , is it at the tender dock at Lahaina or straight back at the ship , when we did a whalewatch in Dominican republic we went directly from the ship and straight back to the ship

I want to book a whalewatch tour with PWF and need to know where we will be dropped off at 1.30 as to know what time to book the whalewatch for , any help much appreciated , thank you
