  1. I received a phone call from my personal Carnival travel agent informing me that I had a "free" offer. I asked him if there was anything in May in Alaska and he looked and said no. Then he told me that he had one cabin available for The Vista, 10 day Barcelona to Athens. I Booked it. I have received several offers for free cruises , inside cabin. Premiere cruises at a discount with $700 casino cash. We are leaving on May 14th on the Vista and our cruise price was $389 for both of us and $100 on board spending. I would love to go on a premiere cruise as I have heard that they are lots of fun. Maybe someday soon.......

  2. I doubt even the head sommelier himself knows what the wine list is at this point. Obviously it'll be similar to what you might have seen on previous CCL Med cruises, but there would always be differences. Your best bet is to find somebody who likes wines going on the inaugural trip on May 1st to take a picture of it. Perhaps drop into their respective Roll Call thread and ask.

I'd be very surprised if Carnival didn't keep their best stuff behind the paywall that is bottle purchase. The wine-by-the-glass will probably be decent enough stuff but if you really want something good to go along with, perhaps, an upgrade meal in the steakhouse or at the Chef's Table, then I'm afraid to say you'll probably have to bite the bullet and get the bottle. Don't forget though that you can have them cork it and store it for later use at any of the ships restaurants including the MDR if you don't gulp it down in one go.

However, it should be said that the quality of a wine and its price often have absolutely nothing to do with each other. But you probably knew that.

Thanks for the reply, I totally agree that you can't always judge a wine by the price.

I think I am going to go for it. We end up getting a bottle of wine every night at dinner. That alone us usually $35 or so, even if we are being conservative. It seems like a no brainer at this point.

  3. Considering the cheers program for our May 14, 2016 cruise (so excited) I was originally against the program, thinking it wouldn't be worth it. With so many ports, we wouldn't have time for very many drinks but we love wine with dinner. With the $10 limit per drink we would only be able to get house wine, basically. Now, I hear that they have increased that amount to a $50 per drink limit. That changes everything if they offer "good" wine by the glass. Although I usually end up drinking relatively inexpensive wine at home, I LOVE a great glass of wine. Does anyone have any idea of the wine list for the vista? I am worried that they won't offer any "good" wines by the glass only by the bottle. That would limit our choices. Anyone have any info?
