  1. We purchased the 3 day pass on our first visit to London and left a couple of days to visit sites out of town. We also bought the travel componant but don't recommend it as a lot of the sites are close enough to walk. You need to take transit 3-4 times a day to make it worth while.

The pass allows you to use a separate/shorter line to London Tower. The pass allowed us to visit the Mews, the Guard Museum, and the Calvary Museum which we enjoyed but may not of visited without the pass. :) These sites were on our route to more notable attractions.

As others have said, go through the attractions listing to see what interests you and compare it with the total regular admission costs.

Thank you very much for your useful information!

  2. Thank you!

Enjoy stress-free travel on public transport with an Oyster Travelcard

Can I use it from the airport?

Over 66% of attractions included free in the London Pass are in Central London (zones 1 - 2) but the Oyster Travelcard is actually valid to use across all London, zones 1 – 9.

This includes travel to and from Heathrow Airport and London City Airport. So if you have chosen to get your Oyster Travelcard sent out to you before you arrive, you can use it to get into London. Travel to Gatwick, Luton and Stanstead Airports is not included.

  3. If it its similar to my iPhone, then in settings turn "data off" (or "data off while roaming"). Leave voice "on while roaming". The voice functions lets you send and receive texts (SMS only) while at sea. If you get calls that you don't wish to pay for, just don't answer them or check voice mail. Otherwise, as mentioned, it's about $2.50 a minute for calls.

Thank you Roger! I have IPhone5S with T mobile "simple choice plan". Kind of simple question (pardon my stupidity). How to leave voice "on while roaming"?

  4. I live here and was working at pier 91. I took the 'stairs' and no way would I ever recommend this to a visitor. Once I got down I had no idea which way to go. Hauling your luggage thru a roadway isn't my idea of a great idea to start a vacation. The same $7 or so could have gotten you a whole cab. Also the shuttles are for people parking in the parking lot, not for bus passengers trying to save $1.

We plan to use the public transportation (w/o luggage) after our cruise from pier 91 to downtown area. What would be our options? Thank you in advance!

  5. if you stay near Seatac, keep in mind that you can ride the Light Rail into Seattle to do a little sightseeing the afternoon you arrive; $3 pp, 40 minutes.

Seattle Express and Shuttle Express will have buses at both piers to take passengers to the airport.

we are planning to spend a day in Seattle after our cruise. Just 2 adults , hopefully w/o luggage, What is the best and not expense transportation from pier 91 to downtown? Where we can buy tickets to Light Rail from downtown to Seatac?

  6. me.

We did the valet service at the end of the cruise and that was excellent. Set your bags out in the hall the night before the cruise ends and the next time you see them is on a luggage carousel in your home airport. Yay!

To get to the airport we had the hotel call us a car. A guy came in a Lincoln Town Car and took us right to the pier for $55 (three of us and our luggage). However, my bro in law intro'd me to UBER and now I'm sure I should've done that. Uber is an app on your phone - you tap it and they come get you. On the return trip my daughter remained in Seattle with some family so it was just me and the wife. We went from downtown Seattle to the airport for $25 with Uber. Not kidding! Look it up and download the app. Uber rocks.

Glad to help out. Keep your questions coming - many helped me so I'm glad to pay it forward.

Our AA flight leaves Seattle at 9pm . Are we qualify for Luggage Valet as an option? Is there a public bus/shuttle from the pier 91 to downtown? BTW thank you for the UBER. Also I want to meet a friend in downtown Seattle and spend a few hours before heading to SEA airport. Any suggestions on a quiet , nice ans not so expensive place for lunch ?

  7. Yep very true. :)

I'm one of those people who has walked up to the falls for years, prior to any nice trail. Used to walk along the lake, over rocks, lumber, into the water etc and a number of people always did it. :) Was worth the effort. Now simple and easy for many more to enjoy.

so, one way shuttle, Visitor center, walk to the falls and back. Is it easy to purchase tickets one way back to Juneau? Can that be done in 5-6 hours?

  8. Just left there two days ago and they are lovely but if weather is rainy and you are rushed in an evening it is not worth the high cost. Do a walk about see the Empress hotel maybe even have evening tea. Fish and chip truck called red fish is past the seaplane dock and is excellent.

Thank you for a great idea!

  9. I've lived in Victoria all my life. 4 hours in the evening is a very short visit but you can walk to the inner harbour within 10 minutes or take a 2 to 3 minute cab ride to the inner harbour then wander through the Empress Hotel and up Government street to see the lovely historic architecture and tourist shops. In that short of time, I don't think you'd be able to get too far from town but there are some very nice pubs if that is of interest to you. What is the date of your stop in Victoria?

we are there on Thursday 6pm-12, and CVS offers evening tour to Butchart from 7:30pm til 11pm. Doable? What if some traffic?
