Ok, I looked up Hattie B's and there is a store in Atlanta.  Next time I'm down that way, I'm checking it out!

You wont regret it.....watch out, if you like it hot they'll make IT HOT!

Big Chicken is the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten!  I walked 30 minutes in Las Vegas (I didn't know it was that far away) to eat a Big Chicken sandwich.  Took an Uber back.  Soooo good!!

I think Haddie B's is my alltime fav, but Shaq's is up there and for a retail chain, especially on a ship and the volume they are pushing out, really really good.

might sound silly, but we did a Radiance cruise just to try Shaq's chicken 🤪

good stuff, but my kids ate more at Shaq's, while me and the wife ate more at Guy's

Same. I think my kids ate it for every lunch!

i honestly can't tell if you're joking, but i have never in my entire cruise career, seen a "roving bartender"... at the buffet or elsewhere. i have seen - at parties and events - a fully staffed portable bar set up in a corner (or corners) of the room. never have i seen a bartender wandering throughout the buffet, presumably with some sort of cart, as if he was a street peddler selling italian ices or pretzels or hot dogs.

On MSC they set up portable bars our on the pool deck to take pressure off the regular bars. Seems like a great idea and surprised other lines don't do it more. Somewhat limited, but an easy set up.

It has always intrigued me why Carnival are so tight when it comes to complimentary drinks.

For example on Royal if you are a Diamond member or above you have access to a room from 5pm-8pm each night for complimentary drinks, yet Carnival doess not for its high end membership.

And with the free drinks on us in the casino promotion you have to actually be gambling to get your free drinks, you can't just walk up to the casino bar and get them where as on Royal you can.

    Thoughts?

Miss the days of free drinks at the past guest party, goodbye party, etc...

My feeling as well. The buns seem to be about the size of a slider bun.

I much prefer Shaq's chicken. Probably why I greatly enjoy Radiance over Panorama.

Shaq's is the best. Great for the kiddos too.

Do you realize how long Haiti has been in turmoil. Should Royal stopped going long ago?

In 2010, there was a big debate about whether Royal should stop going to Haiti after the earthquake struck. Royal donated a million dollars in humanitarian aid and ferried in supplies.

Like it or not, tourism generates income to the Haitians that work in Labadee. Pulling out of Labadee would have a detrimental effect on local Haitians.

Ya, but, people just saw it pop up on their feed today and the news seems to think its important, so, its new and earthshattering!

  8. Love the walled off casino smoking areas, much more present. Went on MSC World Europa in the Med in November, man, SO much smoke. Everyone was smoking on their balconies, much more loosey goosey over there.

I’m not going to say someone can’t cherry pick a cruise that’s cheaper than NCL. Like I said it’s not apples to apples either. We’re comparing the largest ship in the NCL fleet with a Sat-Sat itinerary to a spirit class ship with a Thur-Thur itinerary. It’s also about a $30 Uber ride out to the Carnvial port where NCL is right downtown. Cheap train ride from the airport to westlake center and you can walk to the port. But I think leaving on a weekend and on the better ship makes a big difference in this case.

I just got off of spirit a couple weeks ago. You aren’t going to find an observation lounge like this there. The buffet is the closest you’ll get.

Huge fan of those times of observation lounges, we spend alot of time there. The only one I prefer more is on the largest RCL ships which are similar, but with small pools, hottubs etc.

I understand the impact of the ships on the towns, expecially the smaller ones.  It was rather jarring, though, being told to your face that your patronage was not wanted.  Oh well.

PS, Due to a storm, we were the first cruise ship ever at the time that had to dock overnight in Portland.  I guess that wasn't a thrill either 🙂

Hey its a lovely stop. Sorry you got the attitude treatment. Maine gets about 9 times our population in tourist visitors every year, mostly in the summer, and I think it grinds people down sometimes by the end of the year.

Ironically, I just booked bermuda cruise on NCL out of Boston for August....stops at Bar Harbor (supposedly) on the way back 😆

It is correct. The ticket contract is the ticket contract. Whoever "they" are, are mistaken. I would like someone to produce documentation that cruise lines are prohibited from enforcing. Local regulations would be just that and not applicable to all ports. I have seen them setting up a liquor collection table.

Whatever you say. Obviously all those giving first hand, recent information must be just making it up. I have zero interest tracking down documentation for your satisfaction. OP--Enjoy the cruise and stock up on spirits in every port!
