  1. I was on this cruise as well and rate it as one of my best cruises ever!

    The crew were fantastic.

Joe Hollywood is the piano player in the Schooner Bar and was fantastic!! He'll be leaving the Indy within another week or so and heading to the Quantum in March.

I found the ship to be spotless and in excellent condition.

I was in cabin 8544 and it was spotless! I had hot water issues day 1 only and it worked fine afterwards.

  2. Just off the New Year's Indy cruise today! The ship is in EXCELLENT condition. The crew are phenomenal.

This by far was my best cruise with RC and that says a lot considering I was recently on the (UNinaugural)

    Quantum cruise.

My only gripe would be the kids seemed to take over the main pool area and were allowed in the Schooner

    bar at night.

  3. In my opinion, I feel the Anthem will offer guests the cruise experience we didn't receive which is unfortunate for those of us that have recently sailed. Again, the ship itself is absolutely beautiful!!! I love the layout, design and passenger flow.

Unfortunately, it's clear RC priorities with the Quantum are quite clear....CHINA!!!

I think they'll address and rectify the problems/issue that have been identified.

  4. Just finished the survey and noted many things.

Beautiful ship but many annoyances on this inaugural sailing and many times I found myself standing in line to get things accomplished and corrected.

Have another sailing in April with many cruising friends so am hoping for a more positive experience. I do plan on sending a letter to AG's office

all I really wanted was the Quantum Inaugural art book :(

I agree, Emmy! It's such a beautiful ship but it's a disgrace that RC didn't make sure it was properly staffed and stocked. The tech issues were an entirely different matter.

  5. We feel most of the post-inaugural reviews have been way too kind. We're Diamond Plus and obviously love RCCL. It is well worth it for us to be loyal because of all the 'perks' we receive. We were on the inaugurals for Oasis and Allure and were blown away by the festivities, celebrations, daily goodies/gifts in our stateroom, etc (made you excited to go back to your stateroom to see what was there!).

Having said that...Quantum's inaugural was an absolute bomb! It was so underwhelming that it turned out to be the worst cruise we have ever had. The only thing we received that indicated 'inaugural' were 2 baseball caps and a paper certificate (on regular copy paper no less).

Apart from the crappy itinerary (although we picked the cruise for the ship, not ports) most all of the 'super smart' technology NEVER worked...even down to the elevators - waiting 4-5 minutes for an EMPTY elevator is unacceptable. The Royal IQ app was down the entire cruise. Only thing good were the RFID bands did work well.

We stood in some kind of line an average of 3 - 4.5 hours a day. There was a tremendous lack of communication, coordination and training; it seemed the entire crew were overworked and stressed because of this and it showed.

I have written to Crown and Anchor sharing our disappointment. Their response will determine whether we continue to sail with RCCL.

I think the post reviews were based on personal experience and were very honest.

I agree RC dropped the ball BIG TIME with labeling this as an "inaugural cruise" but failing miserably to deliver the experience we've all come to expect.

  6. @ cruisingator2. I'm confident the kinks and issues will disappear when the Anthem debuts.

Unfortunately, RC is going to learn a hard lesson with the Quantum. I've NEVER heard so many

people complaining and upset. Most of the complaints were the same....tech, service and dining problems.

Most of the crew are on board temporarily and some not by choice. A huge portion will leave the ship

    between March-April.

@ Darren. I agree...the speed the first day or so was awesome but diminished quickly after that.
