1. I would call back and ask or another supervisor

No, I see what he is saying. I'm finding the same issue when booking the Breeze in November 2014.

We need to book 2 cabins. We like aft-facing. I can only book aft facing using past-guest or regular rate.

When I click "balcony" for easy saver, only the cove balconies show availability. If I switch to past guest or another non-ES offer, I can book all balconies.

When I click "interior" I cannot book ES, it shows no availablilty. If I book "interior" using Past Guest or non-ES offer, I show availability all over the ship.

Carnival is picking and choosing cabins and catagories for Early Saver. Not all cabins show available under early saver, but do show available under past guest or a non-ES choosing.

  2. We booked yesterday seeing the 50% off deposit and early saver.

I needed to book an aft-facing cabin and an interior. I noticed that the early saver was only available for cove balconies so I had to book past guest for the aft-extended. The interior was covered by early saver, so we booked that cabin under ES.

Weird, but maybe Carnival was fooling around with the class codes and only some have early saver and others don't?

  3. We are looking at the main deck on the Breeze. I'd like an interior across the hall for my girls. Now I'm reading about lifeboats overhead and feeling claustrophobic.

Any really good cabins in a break, preferably port side, without the lifeboats overhead? I tried looking then saw that there are more lifeboats overhead on deck 4?

  4. I had a pull cart with me for carry-ons and I also put on a case of water and a case of Red Bull.

I saw a flatbed cart at baggage for anyone to drop their cases off, with tags. I didn't plan on doing it that way, at almost $20 a case, I wasn't going to let someone msteriously disappear with my case of Red Bull. I also carried the case of water on board.

In my carry-on luggage I also had a case of Ginger Ale (sea sickness) and 2 bottles of Dr. Pepper.

  5. I was on this sailing too and I wanted to get away from the cold weather but it seemed to have followed us. I thought at least Friday we would have a nice, warm sea day but it was cool and overcast/rainy and seas were a bit rough. It's great not to have to fly to get to the cruise ship but during the colder months, I think I'll fly instead. I've never been to Bermuda so Breakaway + summer months might be the better choice. I can't imagine how this itinerary will be during the very cold, winter months. I wish they had some sort of retractable roof for the pool area.

I agree, it was even too windy and cold to walk the Boardwalk. :(

I can't image a cruise like this in the dead of winter. There aren't enough of indoor activities to keep you busy and out of the casino. :(

We too loved going into and out of the NYC port and being only an hour from home, driving distance.

Next year we flying to San Juan one way and debarking in New York City. At least I know I'll have warm air most of the 8 days. Never again will I cruise out of the New York area in Fall/Winter/Spring.

  6. Just because Conquest didn't go there, why not pick a ship that does:confused:

I have a certain week that I can only cruise, there were no other ships that went to Belize. Seems like Carnival is slowing replacing Belize with Costa Maya.

  7. We were looking for another Exotic Western itinerary and were going to book the Conquest for our November 2014 sailing. We specifically were looking for stops in Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Grand Cayman. A lot of shop stopped in Costa Maya instead of Belize .. too bad. :(

Belize gets a bad rap but it has the most amazing excursions! DH wanted to climb the ruins and in Belize he can, that's why we were going to book it. Too bad Carnival is missing out on stopping there in 2014.

We ended up booking the Splendor from San Juan to New York (and save on airline fees) but am interested in booking a cruise to Belize in 2015, hope they straighten out the schedule!

  8.
I had a client booked on the Nov 30 Baltimore to San Juan cruise. Carnival has canceled those cruises. There was an email received from Carnival notifying them that the Pride is going into dry dock on Oct 19 and staying in drydock till November 9, 2014. Instead of coming back to Baltimore they have decided to send her right from Drydock to Tampa to begin her home port season there. :-(
Thanks for the update. Too bad, we were going to book the Pride but since she is no longer in Baltimore we are going to do the Splendor from San Juan to New York City that week instead.
  9. My cruise, ES was back for 1 day, yesterday. Went to check again today and it's gone again.

    Same for our cruise, too.

EDIT to Add: I wasn't going to change to ES this early, right now with my fare code I get $160 OBC for any excursions. I think ES would have dropped about $20. Not worth converting this early to ES, I like having my deposit refunded to me at this early date if need be.

  10. We also seem to board about Noonish and have never had a problem dropping our carry-ons off in our room and going for lunch.

Since we don't have a tender port, we will be saving money and not signing up for FTTF. Even if you have an excursion at a tender port, just tell them you have one and they'll send you to the next tender!

Don't waste your $50 or even $100!

  11. I forgot about this thread, but I have called Carnival 3 times about this obc. Only the first rep, which I posted about above, seems to have made things up as she went along. The following two calls were consistent that the obc is only for excursion purchases. Makes sense as that is what it's described as in the promo. Also consistent was that it is $80pp for the first two passengers in the cabin only and it must be used that way. No restriction on just using it for one excursion. You can use the entire $80pp even if it's spent on more than one excursion. There's nothing in the fine print saying you are restricted to one excursion - so I will print out their own rules should I still have this credit when we sail. I was fine paying $30 more to get it, but if a decent price drop comes along and wipes it out, I'm fine with that too.

Thanks for the update. We purchased for an extra $20 so well worth it since we plan on taking an excursion in Antigua, but if the rate drops significantly or ES pops up at a lower rate I may change.

  12. No tickets. They just scan your card on the Epic.

You can take your chances on going to shows like Blue Man Group without a reservation. I believe they start letting people in about 15 minutes before the show, first come, first serve. Now having said that I have sailed the Epic three times, some shows were full, some not so you just have to cross your fingers if you don't have a reservation.

We saw all the shows on the Breakaway, the only show I can say that did not have any seats left was Rock Of Ages.

  13. There are no charges for any of the shows on the Breakaway, except the Second City Dysfunktional Lunch, which I'm assuming you are paying because of the food. Cirque Jungle Dreams is also a charge. Both need reservations.

The Second City lunch sold out a couple weeks prior to our cruise. Once on board I looked for it under Entertainment, as we were going to book it, but never found it available. I assume it sold out in advance. I'm rather glad i didn't book it, it was a beautiful day to lounge on our balcony and we ended up just ordering room service. I also heard it was not that funny, as was the Second City shows we booked for free one evening.

It's best, if you are not doing advanced reservations to the FREE shows (Burn The Floor, Rock Of Ages etc.) to book this as soon as you get on the ship, in your cabin, via the Entertainment section of your TV listing. I noticed that towards the end of the cruise alot of the shows were fully booked. I'm guessing people also book these in advance towards the end of the cruise, and cancel and rearrange their schedule once on board.

If you don't cancel 24 hours before, you will be listed as seeing that show and won't be able to book it again, nor get your money back if you reschedule (that's why I noticed a lot of shows sold out towards the end of the cruise).

Only the Dysfunktional Luncheon and the Cirque Jungle Fantasy Dinner need to be paid in advance, just like any specialty dining.
