  1. What probably* happens is that Haven guests board and head to the Haven courtyard. Once there, they ask the actual concierge (not the pre-cruise concierge desk) to reserve Vibe passes. The Haven guests may feel like they don't need them and the unclaimed passes go to someone else.

*Just a guess since I haven't tried this or seen anyone else try it.

I think that's correct. I was told by the bartender at the Vibe that a lot of Haven guests get them and don't pick them up, so assuming they can't get them ahead of time as some people have stated, I would guess the concierge gets them for them since they can get on first.

??? Either way I'm just letting you know that even if they tell you they're sold out you can put your name on a wait list. It worked for us! :)

  2. We got on relatively late (12pm or later) and we were in back of people who still got them. They were sold out by the time we got to the front of the line, but we put our names on the list and they called us later in the day and said hey had 2 available. Turns out a lot of Haven guests reserve them before the cruise and don't end up picking them up, so if you're on the wait list you have a chance at them. And yes, they are worth every penny!!!

  3. Have a great trip! We are on the Pearl in 2 weeks. Have you seen what the weather will be like?

I've been on several cruises with the UBP and I've never needed to show proof...they put it on your cabin card when you check in. If you see it on your NCL.com account, it's there.

From everything I've read, no need to overpack. Layers are good, and you can wear pants and jeans more than once. We are all bringing one light jacket each, I figure if it's that cold, we can buy $20 sweatshirt at one of the ports. I'm not even bothering with gloves, but I think I'll just throw our beanies in the suitcase. We're all wearing what we'd typically wear on Caribbean cruises at night, since we don't plan on being outside at dinner time.

Packing does seem intimidating, but I'd lay everything out, then put back half. ;)

    Have fun!!!

  4. So, a few things. My other half called into NCL and found out a couple things about the Vibe on Escape. I'm just passing along the information that we got fed today on the phone.

    1) Haven guests have had the past couple of weeks to pre-purchase Vibe passes. ONLY Haven guest have this opportunity. We put in our request and will find out once onboard if any passes are still available. But it does not look good for the general population outside the Haven.

    2) There are no cabanas on Escape.

If we get passes and get in, I will let you know all the details. But, until then, this is the information that NCL told us.

    Thanks!

    ~Heather

Wow that's awesome Heather, I hope you get them but I also hope not a lot of people see this because I'm not in the haven and I'll be among the general pop trying to get there early this Saturday to get them!

Anyone who wants to make a quick $200 I'll pay double for them! (j/k...sorta) ;)

  5. The margarita was good but not very spicy. The jalapeño cucumber mojito was actually spicier. I need to ask around at some of the bars and see if they have any really spicy drinks. I love spicy drinks and spicy beer. We homebrewed some beer with peppers and it was quite spicy and good.

Thanks and let me know if you find one! I like spicy beer too! Bong made me the spicy mojito in November and it is delicious! I asked him for extra jalapeño!

  6. Check out TheDougOut's ^^^ Escape trip report as well. It was great!

I've been on all 3 as well. Oasis and Allure are very nice. Escape is also great in its own way. I don't think either are "better" but I'm not loyal to one or the other. They both have their goods and bads. I think NCL has more to offer in terms of nightlife- I feel like it goes pretty dark on RCCL early at night. The pool areas are slightly better on Royal, though truthfully they aren't much larger (and no water slides, if you have kids or like that sorta thing). I feel like the Escape has a younger vibe all together.

Assuming the free beverage package and dining package, Escape will give you a better value overall. But that's up to each individual if you drink and eat at specialty restaurants. Again, I've done both and enjoyed both of them. I don't think you can go wrong!

  7. You're cruising right in Spring Break time for some, so there will be more kids than usual.

Vibe passes aren't impossible but you'll have to try to get there early. Some say as early as 9:30. I'm aiming for 10am personally. It *may* be easier during this time because a lot of families travel with their kids and therefore can't go to the Vibe but that could just be wishful thinking on my part. ;)
