Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Such an interesting perspective, although it only seems to address the issue of needing to cancel. What about medical coverage ON the ship? Genuinely asking- since the ships are registered overseas, would your regular health insurance or credit card cover that? And what if you needed to be flown home from a port?
  2. It's weird that deck plans weren't available when you booked, because in my experience, they are made available at the time a ship goes on sale. And just based on the process, they would have to be available in order to book through the Princess website. Either way, it does seem unlikely that you would be assigned a wheelchair stateroom if you don't need one, but it is not impossible. If you booked through a travel agent you'll need to go back to them for assistance. As far as customer service being outsourced and terrible, get used to it. I have it on good authority that over the last year Princess has, and continues to, let go of quite a number of full time employees from various departments in favor of offshore contract employees. Good luck!
  3. Real Parmesan is made with animal-derived rennet. It's unlikely that a large company like Princess would bother to get plant-based parm, though I suppose it's possible. I've been falsely told that items are vegetarian at countless (land-based) restaurants just because there is no actual meat in the finished dish, but it has been made with a meat broth. I would be quite unhappy, but would probably not become ill if I ended up accidentally eating something that was not vegetarian. But for someone who would become ill, trusting the line of communication with so many international employees doesn't seem like it's worth it. Especially where the vegan menu has a "yoghurt" dessert although I don't see anything specifying that it is non-dairy.
