Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Who is running these casinos? I have never seen anything so ridiculous (different maximums) and only 3/4/5 at $50 anywhere. Do they not understand that the house always wins.
  2. Touché. My point is who likes playing at an empty craps table. Pass line betters tend to play for hours every day and draw other players. If they made the slots tighter than another line, yes, I would book the other line. my question was what the odds are currently.
  3. Anyone on a celebrity cruise now who can verify craps rules. Last time I was on, it was 3/4/5 odds on $25 plus bets. I heard today that on a ship last week, they have reduced all odds to double. If true, they should just get rid of craps.
  4. Does anyone know the odds - double or 3/4/5 - and what the minimum is. I heard that celebrity cut the 3/4/5 odds on $25 plus bets to double only. Tables were empty last celebrity cruise and I’m regretting the next one we have booked if only double odds.
  5. Do all Celebrity casinos offer craps? Do they offer 3/4/5 odds like most other casinos? What is minimum bet?
  6. Does celebrity has 3/4/5 odds or only double. Does anyone know how they track you play for points. I presume average bet (not including odds) x HA (house advantage) x rolls per hour (?65) x hours played.
  7. Thanks for all the great tips. Our HAL cruise did inside passage to Glacier Bay and Tracy Arm. Both were wonderful. Seems like Celebrity goes to Hubbard glacier only. Is that because of a bigger ship or are all sites equally beautiful.
  8. On the Millenium, where do people usually watch the ice etc without glass barriers. Holland America was a smaller ship with lot of nice open deck space.
  9. Yes, looking at booking August 2023
  10. I previous did this with a small Holland American ship. For this season, Celebrity has Solstice, Eclipse, Edge, and Millenium. Are there any advantages to taking the smaller M-class ship, ie can get in smaller bays / closee to ice etc or are itineraries basically the same. Also, on Alaska cruises, do they open up the helicopter pad at front for viewing, and can kids use the indoor pool at certain times of the day. Thank you.
  11. Yep. Simply bring a little tray and a coffee jug to fill up, and you can enjoy breakfast on the Vernada like the good old days.
  12. Are you allow two wine bottles per cabin or two per guest. I thought our recent cruise was 2 per cabin.
  13. Are you allowed / encouraged to pop into OVC and grab breakfast / coffee to eat on veranda. Do they have trays to use? Seems like a no brainer. pay $11 and wait for probably cold food or run up yourself and get what you want.
  14. This changed on our cruise as of Jan 2/23. There was no charge when ordered, but the app displayed the new pricing. There was no communication, so I presume the "nickel and diming" was set to start with the next passengers. 18% is ridiculous with automatic gratuities, essentially paying 18% for poor service. The same cash tip would give much better service. The all-inclusive package is downgraded by poor service. Much better service if you tip a few bucks with every drink which should not be required.
  15. I understand you get 3 points/veranda. If you and spouse (who always travel together) in same room do you each get 3/night. Can you combine points as a couple into one account, ie 6/night, to achieve higher status twice as fast.
