  1. Who is running these casinos? I have never seen anything so ridiculous (different maximums) and only 3/4/5 at $50 anywhere. Do they not understand that the house always wins.
  2. Touché. My point is who likes playing at an empty craps table. Pass line betters tend to play for hours every day and draw other players. If they made the slots tighter than another line, yes, I would book the other line. my question was what the odds are currently.
  3. Anyone on a celebrity cruise now who can verify craps rules. Last time I was on, it was 3/4/5 odds on $25 plus bets. I heard today that on a ship last week, they have reduced all odds to double. If true, they should just get rid of craps.
  4. Does anyone know the odds - double or 3/4/5 - and what the minimum is. I heard that celebrity cut the 3/4/5 odds on $25 plus bets to double only. Tables were empty last celebrity cruise and I’m regretting the next one we have booked if only double odds.
  5. Do all Celebrity casinos offer craps? Do they offer 3/4/5 odds like most other casinos? What is minimum bet?
  6. Does celebrity has 3/4/5 odds or only double. Does anyone know how they track you play for points. I presume average bet (not including odds) x HA (house advantage) x rolls per hour (?65) x hours played.
  7. Thanks for all the great tips. Our HAL cruise did inside passage to Glacier Bay and Tracy Arm. Both were wonderful. Seems like Celebrity goes to Hubbard glacier only. Is that because of a bigger ship or are all sites equally beautiful.
  8. On the Millenium, where do people usually watch the ice etc without glass barriers. Holland America was a smaller ship with lot of nice open deck space.
  9. Yes, looking at booking August 2023
  10. I previous did this with a small Holland American ship. For this season, Celebrity has Solstice, Eclipse, Edge, and Millenium. Are there any advantages to taking the smaller M-class ship, ie can get in smaller bays / closee to ice etc or are itineraries basically the same. Also, on Alaska cruises, do they open up the helicopter pad at front for viewing, and can kids use the indoor pool at certain times of the day. Thank you.
  11. Yep. Simply bring a little tray and a coffee jug to fill up, and you can enjoy breakfast on the Vernada like the good old days.
  12. Are you allow two wine bottles per cabin or two per guest. I thought our recent cruise was 2 per cabin.
  13. Are you allowed / encouraged to pop into OVC and grab breakfast / coffee to eat on veranda. Do they have trays to use? Seems like a no brainer. pay $11 and wait for probably cold food or run up yourself and get what you want.
  14. This changed on our cruise as of Jan 2/23. There was no charge when ordered, but the app displayed the new pricing. There was no communication, so I presume the "nickel and diming" was set to start with the next passengers. 18% is ridiculous with automatic gratuities, essentially paying 18% for poor service. The same cash tip would give much better service. The all-inclusive package is downgraded by poor service. Much better service if you tip a few bucks with every drink which should not be required.
  15. I understand you get 3 points/veranda. If you and spouse (who always travel together) in same room do you each get 3/night. Can you combine points as a couple into one account, ie 6/night, to achieve higher status twice as fast.
  16. Are families allowed in the indoor pool for set hours, or not at all?
  17. The people at cruise port are scamming tourists. It is $28 for 4 people to cockleshell beach not $40 ($10 pp). Ask for a receipt and take picture of driver if they scam you as rates are regulated and available at link above.
  18. Are the taxi (those big buses) fares regulated, ie rate to cockleshell beach, or can drivers charge what they want. Ie what is set rate. Agent in terminal recently was saying $10 us each way but multiple people saying it was less on government web site.
  19. Was there recently. Lots of taxis at cruise ship. However, the online rate says $28 for 1-4, but taxi person, inside secure area, says price went up and government website wrong. She told everyone $10 each one way. Would be nice if government fixed web site or better yet, fix the scammer working inside cruise area. Once there, I’d suggest the middle area. Two beach chairs and umbrella are $20, like most beaches.
  20. For celebrity blue chip program, preamble states you earn 8 tier points for every $1 theoretical in table games. I assume odds bets in craps do not count. What does this mean and how do they track it, especially with a game like craps. if you play BJ with $25 chip, does that count as 200 ($25 x 😎 points for every hand? if you play craps with $25 on the pass line, does that count as 200 points every roll?
  21. Do you need to join the blue chip program or do they auto enroll you with your sea pass card. Can you check how many pints you have at any time. If you play $25 BJ for 3 hours, what would that get you in points.
  22. Unfortunate. If you bet $10, only double odds even on the 6/8. Every single other cruise line has allowed players to use 5 units as odds on 6/8 in double odds game. This means you end up with a bunch of dollar chips. Dealers are nice but very inexperienced which is not unexpected as cruise lines recover from covid. However, this “double” rule is just bad for business as who wants to play at a table like this. Other cruise lines much better. Very disappointed with celebrity for craps. No wonder no one plays craps. They are all on other cruise lines like me next time.
  23. Not great. $10 minimum with $300 max, and only double odds unless you bet $25, then 3/4/5. Worst thing is on 6/8, they don’t even allow more odds than double to make payoff simpler - they pay with $1 chips. Not a busy table. Unfortunate. Will go on a different line in future.
  24. Do not go on celebrity if you like craps. $10 minimum and Double odds only, and they actually use dollar chips to pay off 6/8. You can’t even do a $6, 6/8 as they want $12 minimum. Carnival way better plus service and food better on carnival last month.
  25. Travelling on celebrity over Christmas. Can I expect heavy play at the craps tables, like on a Carnival ship. How do they keep track of your craps play in terms of Blue Chip credits on future sailings etc.
