  1. I am wondering how these certificates work. I have a b2b cruise booked for feb. Can i purchase a certificate and use that towards my payments to pay off cruise?

    Thanks

Yes you can!! Also shore excursions booked through carnival!! Have a balance left on your card? Put it on your sail and sign card once you're onboard! Cash out at the casino at the end of your cruise! Just go to casino, download funds, spin once, cash out at the cashiers cage!

  2. It's like any other gift card. You pay what's left on your cruise, and then when on board apply the rest to you s&s card. So, if you have a $500 card and pay $300 that's left on you cruise, it will leave a $200 balance. Just ask GS to apply it all.

You can also use the the cards for excursions booked online ON THE CARNIVAL WEBSITE. you CAN NOT use the gift cards to book private excursions.

  3. There are quizzes you take under the tab rewards for goods at the top of the AARP page. You get points for answering the quiz questions, even if you get them all wrong. To redeem points go to the redemption area and click on the item you would like to redeem. For the carnival gift cards you need 5000 points for each $500 gift card. AARP saves you 10%, so your $500 gift card is only $450, however worth $500.

    Hope this helps! Good luck'!

  4. I cruise on the Dream Aug 23 and I have a few points I'm trying to work out please...

    1. I have gratuity added into the cruise cost, BUT I have read many of you tip other staff additionally...such as the room steward...whats the average tip and when do you do it? I have tipped certain staff at resorts on the first day a $20 and it has made my stays more enjoyable before and I am wondering if the ships are the same type of give and take...We have never tipped additional and have always had outstanding service. We do however tip the Matrie D if he/she has come around to our table at dinner, said hello etc

    2. Water/Drink bottles....the reusable ones that keep your drink cool or warm....are those allowed and if so do you hand them over for the bottomless bubbles to go into or do you just get your drink and transfer yourself? Im thinking my cup will hold 2 drinks worth tho? For the bottom less bubbles you will need to transfer your drink yourself

    3. Can the ship change over $20 bill to lower denomination or should I plan to take it all with me how I want it? I have to fly into port so was hoping I didnt need to carry a wad of cash.Guest services can change your bills or you can do so at the casino. There is also an ATM on board for a cost (can't remember how much) Also there are kiosks where you can put cash on your sail and sign card. Except for room service tips or any extra tipping you do, everything else is billed to your sail land sign card

    4. Anyone use the ships internet service before? Is it even worth it? The man wants to check email occasionally  I told him I picked a big open ocean for a reason!!Never used it. Fortunately I'm on vacation and don't need to check in

    5. I understand no Starbucks, but something close to it...my daughter is afraid she wont be able to get the "good" hot cocoa....kids :rolleyes:Yes there is a coffee shop onboard...expect to spend about $3-4 for each hot chocolate plus 15% gratuity

    6. Any first timer tips with loading on this boat? Again, never done this before, and onboarding is the only thing that has me slightly on edge. :3:30Just be sure to have your cruise documents, health screening paperwork and passport or photo ID ready. Embarkation is a breeze! Get to the port around 10:30 and you'll be eating on the lido in just a few short hours!!

    Many thanks as usual!!!!

Most of all RELAX....go with the flow and have a blast!!!

  5. I don't think she meant that she was ever not ES. Once ES, always ES is true. What I think she meant was ES rate. She booked ES but was able to get price drops due to other rates she qualified for. The last drop she got was due to a drop in the ES rate so she was back to the ES rate and not military or past guest. "Rate" was what she was referring to. At least that is the way I Read it.

Yes..exactly. Sorry for any confusion. Basically since I first booked Early Saver I can switch between offers (military, guarantee, past guest etc) up until 2 days before sailing. You cannot switch unless you first booked early saver. Hope that clears things up a bit.

  6. Gotcha. If the price goes down before you make final payment and it is a different promotion, do you get switched to that promotion or are you still early saver.

My PVP said that if you originally booked early saver, you are always early saver.

Example: I booked early saver, military matched the rate and gave me $100 OBC. Immediately after I booked early saver and paid my deposit she switched me to military. Then there was a past guest sale, I again switched, price drop of $160! Lost $50 OBC but still ahead. Then early saver had a sale and my price dropped another $20. So I'm back again to early saver.

This is why I love my PVP. I ask her to check for price drops etc and poof. I don't have to do a thing. No mock bookings or fare viewer. She does it for me...all I have to do is ask her to heck for me!!

Also I get price drops until final payment then OBC until two days before I cruise!!!

  7. I've read often of those that do not want to dress up (cruise elegant) for dining on the cruise elegant nights. I believe most ships have two dining rooms. On cruise elegant night, why not have one dining room be cruise elegant dress and the other be cruise casual? Those nights could be anytime dining for all passengers, however you go to the appropriate dining room. To accommodate everyone they could have a check list on the cruise documents such as ... Will you be participating in the cruise elegant dining yes or no. This would be for everyone in the same cabin. Then the ship would have a listing of those participating in the elegant dining so they can check in at their preferred dining time on those nights.

    Thoughts?
