  1. Cinco de Mayo is not a major Mexican holiday, no matter what the beer companies try to tell you. It commemorates a battle between the French and Mexican armies in the state of Puebla. It is NOT Mexican Independence Day, that is September 16. It's mainly been sold in the U.S. as another excuse for beer companies to get you to drink more. In Mexico, other than the state of Puebla, it is only celebrated for the tourists.

    Enjoy

Thank you for your explanation. My husbands ancestors are from Puebla. Therefore we celebrate. :)

  2. My PVP explained things to me this way. Once early saver you can book a different rate (such as past guest) with in the same category...balcony to balcony etc or upgrade and pay the difference.

You cannot downgrade. Plus, since you booked early saver originally, you can continue to get price drops or change rates (pack n go for example) and receive OBC up until two days before sailing. Again you have to stay in the same category.

Hope this helps and isn't too confusing.

  3. Got an email from carnival for an upgrade from our oceanview (6B) to a spa balcony (8F) for $120 total not per person. Yeah we jumped on that one!!!

Question. I know the Conquest doesn't have the spa cloud 9. Are there any spa perks? I'm really happy with our upsell and location regardless.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

  5. We booked early saver for an upcoming cruise, we also picked our room. Then a better past guest offer came up that reduced our rate and gave us $50 OBC!!! Our PVP also said we could do a room upgrade but we liked where we were at. Our PVP said our room wasn't one asked for very often.

Now to the question...if you've switched to pack n go (where carnival chooses your room), after already choosing a stateroom, have they switched your room or did you keep the same room you originally booked?

Curious to hear your experiences after booking then switching to early saver. Room same? Upgrade? Thanks
