Thank you.  Sounds like your husband is a good source of information.  I'm guess he took business class.  Understanding this is a tough question, how did he find the flight with that number of hours? Difficult place to get to.    Enjoy your vacation.

He does take business class and even with the lay flat seats it's still very long and the jet lag is something else! Food service is good, they have a program called "book the cook" where you can pre-order from a lot of different meals. Large screen tvs with lots of entertainment. In flight wifi.

I'm not sure which is worse the JFK fight which leaves at night or the Newark flight which leaves in the morning ( we opted for Newark so we can spend New Years Eve in Singapore)

There is actually a direct flight from Newark to Singapore on Singapore Air, its 19+ hours.  Anyone taken that?

My husband takes it for work and we are booked on it for our January cruise. It's an ultra long range A350 with only 161 seats in business and premium econ only

  3. Has anyone travelled to Singapore with a cpap? Did you do the online pre-approval?

Bringing personal medical devices into Singapore

Find out the requirements for bringing in medical devices when travelling to Singapore.

Requirements for personal import of medical devices

You will need to apply for an approval from us before bringing a medical device into Singapore for personal use.

    How to Submit

Please submit your personal import application for medical devices using the form in the URL below:

    Application approval

Each application will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis. Please ensure that you apply at least 10 working days before your expected arrival in Singapore. You are not allowed to sell or give away medical devices to people apart from family members that the products were initially intended for. Those caught doing so can be prosecuted under Singapore law.

Note: Please obtain the necessary approvals for the import of medical devices for personal use, before commencing travel. You are not required to declare your medical devices on your arrival in Singapore.

However, as customs officers may perform routine checks, please have all the supporting documents and the approved acknowledgement email for the import of medical devices for personal use, ready with you for inspection when requested. The documents should be kept with you throughout your stay in Singapore and kindly bring the medical devices with you when you leave Singapore.

Challenge is how do they stop it? Said it before we live in an entitled world nowadays where people think it is their right to do what they want. I see people vaping on trains often, in pubs, not unique to cruise lines. Who is going to stop them?

Exactly! We now live in the entitled narcissistic world of "I paid for my vacation so you can't tell me what to do". It's too late for Celebrity to close Pandora's box now....

The lack of concern is what is bothersome. Yes, it’s only worth $150 or so. But, I thought Haven guests or any guests could be assured of more courtesy than I’ve gotten.

I put 2 suitcases outside the cabin the night before disembarkation while in Haven. Only 1 made it into the terminal. NCL, the terminal, Lost & Found all did not give a #@$%. I was able to file with my travel insurance and get some reimbursement for all of my lost items.

Anyway, the driver we used is Dewa ("day-wah") Gede and he has lived in Bali all his life.  I learned about him on the Ports of Call section of Cruise Critic, hired him, and now am recommending him.  Wonderful person, and a wonderful, low keyed but very informative person who provides a great way to see the beautiful island of Bali.  (And yes, I absolutely loved Bali.)  His email is dgrock1140 [at symbol] yahoo [dot] com.  I can give you other contact info if you want it. He is certainly not expensive at all, and very flexible, and only requires payment after he returns you to the ship.

I would love his whatsapp or other contact info. We are arriving 2 days prior to our January cruise and would love to make a private itinerary. Thanks

After reading the HOT topic post about MDR cutbacks, and upcharges for normally on the menu items, I decided to call and see what I could find out.  The gentleman at customer service, was very nice, and kept reminding me I was on a recorded call. Which is great. Let them hear it, good or bad.  I actually had him go on the cruise critic site, to read what all of us are writing about.  He had no prior knowledge of this site.  So here's an answer to that common question, about whether anyone reads what we write.  Maybe somebody does, but not him.   He said they take each call and try to address the concern.  We will see.. Like others have suggested, a barrage of calls

It is well known across most cruise lines on this site that the customer service reps are the least informed/ least knowledgeable. They read from a script and anything outside of that they just spit out an answer to get to the next call.

Wondering what I am missing here... the itinerary is Los Angeles, sea day, Cabo overnight, sea day, San Diego, Los Angeles.  There are several of them in Oct/Nov 2023.  If Mexico does not qualify as a distant foreign port, how would this cruise be allowed, and why would it be impossible to debark in San Diego the day before Los Angeles?  They aren't stopping anywhere else...

The cruise is allowed because it starts and ends in LA (San Pedro). It can't start in LA and end in SD without going to a distant foreign port, which as others have said, is not anywhere in Mexico.

To get the best answer I would contact the "Emergency Team" by phone at the contact in the following link.   That is the group I contacted when I requested and paid for the processing of my Down Line Disembarkation Request.

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/countries/AU/faq's/Downline Request Form AUD.pdf

this form appears to be for Australia? Were you on an Australian cruise?

Who said I didn't like the answers?  But obviously, I'm getting different answers.

The different answers are because the reps are not properly trained and/or do not actually understand what you are asking.  Even if you try to "sneak" off the ship as others are suggesting once the ship realizes you're not coming back the fine will still be posted to your account.

We’ve seen the other side and have migrated to Celebrity.  As for your concerns

    1. Dress code - who cares.  They’re all easing up

    2. Loyalty club downgrades - also pretty common.  The only standout perk for Platinum is Carnival with the free laundry but that would mean going back to Carnival

    3. Limited entrees - also pretty common amongst other lines

I feel the same. I have sailed NCL, Royal, Carnival and Celebrity since the re-start and they are all cutting back on service, amenities, menu items etc. I have never once looked at what someone else is wearing and thought to myself "my cruise is ruined". If one wants a true "luxury" experience they should look to Cunard, Oceania, Regent etc

  12. I usually do 1 Carnival girls cruise a year (we are in our 50s, friends since high school.) We were just in a Havana cabana cabin on Horizon in October and we decided that we have definitely aged out of the shenanigans on Carnival. They do make the best pizza of all the cruise lines and Guy's Burgers is delicious. Our havana cabana cabin was cute and we liked the private area but it was taken over every day by a huge drunk rowdy group traveling together and the main pool area is a joke. Disembarking at the ports is a hot mess as well and the drunk pier runners are a sight to behold!! . We'll stick to Celebrity and the The Haven on NCL where it's more calm and serene.
