Don't give up hope yet, it's only the first day.

I believe I read on another post that the machine that is used to make the HS ice cream is broken.  They are waiting on a repair or replacement.

However,  we were on the Marina in June and July.  One of the elevators was broken.  I understand it is still broken.  Good luck with the ice cream.  We will be joining the ship on Oct. 3. We are hoping for the Slocum ice cream.

  2. We have 10 hours at the Haneda Airport before our flight home after our cruise.  We would like to book a room for six or seven hours at the airport prior to our flight.  Is this possible?  The hotel at terminal 3 seems to be after security.  We need to book prior to going through security.

Seems likely we are creating self fulfilling prophecy, talk about chair hogs, create more chair hogs...... just saying move the stuff. If they ask why are you sitting in their chair just say oh we've been here .....  time and thought is was forgotten.

I think it’s time we think about doing the following to hopefully get Oceania to respond to this problem: complain on the survey, and your travel agent, and to an Oceania representative at the main office. I believe if enough people make the effort, it could result in Oceania resolving the problem. Jan can you help?

We have found that the larger ships offer more activities.  However, this summer on the Sirena we had baggo bingo, putt putt golf and ping pong.  Movies were offer a couple of times in the evening because there was no show.  The movies were some of those available on TV and were very old.  We had several canceled ports and no new activities were planned.  This is not good customer service.  We love Oceania, but they do owe their passengers more than the same thing every single day with no variety.

    For example?

Line dancing, team competition other than trivia, karaoke,  name that tune, there are many options.  However, Oceania doesn’t seem to try any of them.  We have been on 11 Oceania cruises.  We enjoy the people, the food and the itineraries.  The lack of entertainment on sea days or the days when ports have been canceled just seems lazy.

Yes, our last cruise was another 14-night Caribbean one on Riviera, which disembarked in Miami on March 11, 2020. On March 12 I attended my first Zoom meeting!

We hope we get a chance to meet you this January.

I certainly will look for the pickleball court when I board Riviera in January 2022. As several have pointed out, you will be able to play while in port but it is often pretty breezy upstairs outside when underway.

We will be on the Jan 14 cruise. Are you also on this cruise?

  9. Are there any Pickleball players presently on the Riveria? If so, could you please take some pictures of the Paddleball court and give me your opinion on if I could play Pickleball on the court.

The best part is that these folks will be readily identifiable.  And will most likely be treated as unwelcome by the other passengers.  Not a pleasant vacation experience IMO.

If I were unvaccinated I'd definitely think twice about booking a cruise.

Especially if masking is required even on the Lido deck.

I can not believe this attitude.  People have the right to make their own decisions!  I hope no one would be so classless as to mistreat those who are continuing to wear masks.  Some vaccinated people have continued to wear them.  However, no one has the right to treat anyone disrespectfully.

  11. Under President Trump, I seem to remember VP Pence meeting with cruise line executives to try and get cruising going in the United States. The CDC isn’t going to do anything that will hinder President Biden’s very cautious and overly safe approach to opening anything, except maybe 4th of July activities with limited family involvement. So, I don’t expect the Biden administration or the CDC to do anything.
