Are the kids limited to ordering off the kids menu if they participate in dine and play or can they order of the regular/adult menu? TIA!
-
Just booked! We're not telling our daughter and the secret is driving me crazy!!! Travelling with both our moms, so there will be 5 of us (2 rooms). We are first time DCL passengers, though experienced cruisers on other lines. So looking forward to it!
I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions....

Just read this:
Queen beds are raised so that you can stow your luggage underneath, but they can't be split, posing a problem if you'd prefer to have two singles instead of one queen.
My mom and my mother-in-law sharing room...will they not each get their own bed?
-
If we get two rooms next to each other but that do NOT connect, can balcony divider still come down so as to enable both rooms to share balcony? TIA!
-
I will be booking two rooms soon. One of the adults in one of the rooms is a FL resident. Should I book under their name using their state? Does FL always give a better rate? Thanks!

OP here. Thank you all so much!

Interested in people's comments/experiences with rooms here. Cruise line rep recommended but I'm concerned about noise and traffic as its on same deck as kids camp and theatre. Thanks!

these are all helpful; thanks so much and keep 'em coming!

I don't know what I'm looking for, LOL!! I guess the categories are tied to decks, so perhaps I want advice on the best decks? (Realizing that may be subjective....)
None of the categories I looked at mentioned obstructive views, though I saw one category that mentioned an oversized balcony. Some categories mention a privacy divider, some say "tub" others "round tub," some mention a private split bathroom, others do not.
There'd be 2 adults and one child in one room, 2 seniors in a second room. Ideally, we'd like the rooms near each other though they do not have to be next to one another.
Thanks for responding.

Hi! We are looking to book a Disney cruise in February - this would be our first Disney cruise!! Looking at the Fantasy - Balcony rooms. Can anyone give me some guidance on the different classes? Or different decks on this ship (ie pros/cons)? The prices vary greatly for what seems like very similar rooms/categories. Thanks much!!
Of course, any other Disney tips are welcome - but I'll be trolling the boards from now until February! #soexcited

We will be in Puntarenas from 8 am to 5 pm and would like to go to a National Park, preferably Manual Antonio. How do we arrange a tour on our own. Thanks, Jim
I searched this forum for tour guide operators and made contact with them via email. We are booked with Odyssey though I was also impressed with OkeyDokey. We are not doing Manual Antonio as it appears it is a 2 hour drive (each way).
We will be back at the beginning of May if you would like me to report back on our experience with Odyssey.

Has anyone recently used Odyssey Tours? We're going to be Puntarenas soon and his prices are about $20 per person less than lucky and okey dokey tours. Attractive, but not determinative if they don't come recommended. Having a hard time finding recent reviews. Thank you!

We are stopping in Puntarenas next month and are open to ideas on what to do. Prefer private vs cruise line tour.
We are group of 4 adults, hubby and I in our 40s, my folks in 70s with mobility issues, though not in a wheel chair. Also have five year old child.
Any tips/recommendations are welcome! Thanks!

I shouldn't tell you this, but I live around the corner from a great Pho restaurant! Next time I go, I'll slurp some for you! I've never tried to make it, but I hope to score an authentic recipe soon (I go to a nail salon that is owned by a Vietnamese couple...the husband promised me his recipe the next time I go in...which will be next Friday before my DH, DD and my parents and I leave on the Pride for (hopefully) Bermuda).
Since we're on the food topic, I also love Indian, so I'm hoping the 3-bowl with rice platter option is available on the Pride. DH's photos looked amazing...I was drooling! -
...and it's only 10:15am. Thank you so much for the recipe, Shaky! Looks delicious! Will definitely give that a try. Thank you again!
-
Very well written. Will we get another installment or is DH done?
I may have to implement your corner routine. Out time out routine does not appear to have much impact anymore ( DD is four). I like the kneeling....
Finally, I'd be interested in the shaky beef recipe...Shaky, what do you say? -
i appreciate your list - i've started my own compilation now too. thanks again!

These are exactly the type of tips I'm in need of! Thank you - keep 'em coming! :)

Sailing on 9/18 and booked only about 2 weeks ago. Looking for tips that only seasoned CC members would know :D and that one wouldn't be able to learn about through the Carnival website. (For example, finding the fish & chip eatery on the Conquest class ships.) Anything special I should know about the Pride (or the Spirit class)? Any and all advice appreciated! Last cruise, I had months to research and prepare...feeling a bit of anxiety now that we're less than 2 weeks away.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. I'm so behind on booking my hotel that I'm hoping I can get some good tips from all of you (maybe even tonight!). My parents, DH, DD and I are sailing out of Fort Lauderdale on the Carnival Freedom and will be flying in from the AZ and DC areas respectively. Joining us will be my in-laws who'll be driving in from Tampa. As a result, we're looking for a hotel that offers airport/port shuttles as well as free parking for the duration of the cruise. My DH - who is not a CC user - has proposed the Spring Hill Suites. Can anyone tell me about their experiences there? I'm open to other suggestions as well. DH loves a hotel that offers free breakfast so that is a consideration! I'm more concerned in a safe area to leave my in-laws' car. Thanks in advance!
Fantasy 2/8/14 booked today!!

Thanks everyone! Can't wait to meet you!
Question...do you recommend bringing princess and pirate costumes for the kids (we have one DD who will turn 7 the day we set sail)? How many princess dresses? I see many suitcases in my future....
