Yes, there is WiFi. But why worry? Print everything out. Paper results are still accepted.

I cruised out of Boston at the end of June. I had everything printed (test results, Bermuda TA, boarding pass) plus my Covid card. I got through the "inspection" in under 2 minutes while people at other stands were flipping through their phones to bring everything up.

As mentioned, print out everything you possibly can (even from a hotel) and have it ready for presentation along with your passport and Vax card at check in.  Try to down load ArriveCan app, but don't stress, as others have said they don't even ask for it.  Your 2 day preceding boarding Covid Rapid Antigen test is the most important document so print it out.

Thank you for that info. another question please...can you hop on any of the green/orange busses of the same company. I assume all the Old Town Trolley's follow and stop at the same stops? Thank you again

I believe that is their practice as long as the bus isn't full.  The days preceding our 31st cruise will be very busy in Boston as the College kids are moving back into our many major universities.  That means extra parents driving, U-Haul trucks and moving trucks in a very crowded downtown area. Patients on the roadways, at restaurants and tourist sites will be a plus.

Stopping in Boston on our upcoming cruise. Could not believe how many different companies there are for Hop On/Hop Off. Can anyone suggest one from past experience that definitely can be picked up near the cruise port. We would like many stops as some only have 9. TIA

The one that goes to the port when ships are in is the Old Town Trolley.  You can go on-line to their website and pre-purchase your ticket for a slightly discounted price. Also, compare your ship's tour cost of this tour.  Trolley buses are Green and orange, with some being double decker buses. Skip getting off at Cheers; it's a tourist trap. Sit on the Right if at all possible.

Hello...has anybody docked in Boston for the day, and can tell me if Royal Carribean usually have a shuttle service from the ship to the city centre please?

Not that I know of.  Two ways to economically get downtown; first walk about a city block to the left after coming out of the terminal to the Silver Line Bus stop.  It should be near the new Hampton Inn.

Get off at the Faneuil Hall area.

2nd. Order an UBER car and pick a central spot where you wish to go and walk from there; Swam Boat in the Public Gardens is nice.

Hi there! Travelling to Cape Liberty, via Boston, Canada and from Europe....where would it be expected that the customs/border checks are done please?  I'm trying to plan the Boston day trip and not sure how long to allow for this.Thank you.

Are you stopping in Portland Maine before Boston?  They may have Customs clearance there.

This might be a bit early but we are going out of Boston in September and need to get an Antigen test before our cruise. Where can we get one somewhere near our Hotel? We stay at the Westin seaport. Any help is greatly appreciated.

All of us cruising from Boston and traveling into town a few days early are looking for test sites. I found this yesterday on another Summit roll Call.  FYI, the CVS office location at Post Office Square is reported to be totally closed up.

Covid Testing Seaport Hotel area;  If you are staying at the Seaport or other nearby hotels, I just found at ARCpoint Labs of Boston which is located at 5-11 Drydock Ave., Suite 2020, Boston 02210 is doing Rapid Antigen covid testing.  Call them to discuss 617-340-2500.

We have a choice of either a 10:40am flight or a 5pm flight.  We don't want to hang out all day at the airport, but we are not sure we can get to the airport on time for a 10:40am flight.  We always walk off with our luggage, so we can get off the ship quickly.  We are spending a few days in Boston prior to our cruise, so our preference would be to take the earlier flight if it is doable.  Thoughts?

That's pushing it.  If you book it, worse case scenario is you get the 5PM flight.  You will need to reserve an UBER. There aren't as many taxi's around like there used to be. If you are a gambling person, its worth a try.  The airport isn't that far but they do need to go through the Ted Williams Tunnel (toll) I believe.

I'm leaving out of Boston this upcoming Friday (June 17), and just learned it's Bunker Hill Day, is there anything I should be aware of? Are stores open as normal? Issues getting Uber/Lyft? Thanks!

Should not be any big problem. Bunker Hill is on the opposite side of the bay near the Constitution. I don't believe even the State or City government workers have the day off. I could be wrong.

  9. If you are staying at the new Hampton Inn Seaboard then you can have them hold your luggage, take the Silver line bus or get an UBER to State Street, Faneuil Hall or Aquarium area.  Walk from there or take a Trolley Tour (2 hours) stay on the bus.  As long as ships are in port, the trolley may be going out to the Ray Flynn/Black Falcon pier where you could get off and walk to your hotel to retrieve your luggage. I wouldn't plan on picking up the trolley at the pier, as it will probably full of ship passengers and as it doesn't start until 9ish and that stop is at the end, I'd start my brief tour in downtown.

    Good Luck.

I am also hoping to find a Boston testing site for our July 9 departure.  I will be at Marriott long wharf the week before.

Cat, if you find a place, would you be so kind to report back after your trip or from Boston the name and location of the available store or place if you find one.  We aren't staying too far from the Marriott.

    TIA

See my note number 5 for a Boston link regarding Covid Testing sites.  Many of them have closed or stopped giving tests.  I did reach a Walgreen's at 24 School St. & Washington St. but got a recording that the test had to be scheduled on line.  When I did a test to get an appointment, it did not show up as a valid open NAAT or Rapid Antigen test site.

I would buy at least 2 Optom Abbott Binax testing kits for emed testing live on your cell phone or Ipad.

I didn't think they wanted cruisers parking in the EDIC garage at the port. I had no issues using the "official" MassPort parking with the shuttle in April.

OK, thanks.  I was not aware of this change. Can you be more descriptive about where the Massport parking lot is located and brief directions for out of state cruise passengers? I don't want to hi-jack this thread.  Maybe we should start a new thread!

  13. We moved South and often visit Charleston. I am one who recommends a group Horse Tour; there are 3 companies all located closed to the Marketplace. There are also van tours.

Someone asked about walking with disabilities.  I'm now using a Rollator/walker and the last time we were in the city I did OK. Strolling in the Marketplace is difficult as it gets crowded but it is doable.  From the pier they also had Pedi=cabs which could save some energy and time.

I like Hyman's Seafood Restaurant on Meeting Street. There may be more than one location.  Poogan's Porch is another favorite.  Check out some of the old hotels; Charleston Place is a new name but very nice lobby and bar and courtyard statue.

    Do sightsee

I was mistaken.  I just walked past that location at lunchtime and it is currently gutted with nothing inside.

If you happen to be in the vicinity of Washington and School Streets there is a CVS that should be offering appointments for Covid Testing but I don't know if they do the Rapid test or a phone number to contact someone.  If you can check, I and others on these Cruises would be very grateful.

    Look in the seaport district.

Just note that weekend is Head of the Charles, so book something NOW. Don't worry about the price, just get a room booked.

Look at the Hampton Inn & Suites Seaport.  This is right next to the cruise line terminal and not far from the Silver line bus stop.  For those that are driving, the parking garage is right near this hotel and a block from the terminal.  It's the only one.

I'd call the CVS at Post Office Square and make sure they are doing testing.  Not all CVS's are doing proctored testing.  I did a Google search (Covid test near Black Falcon Terminal) and came up with ARCpoint. This is on Drydock Ave and not far from the cruise terminal. I cannot figure out how to see if and where they have appointments without registering. You may want to try though: https://www.arcpointlabs.com/boston/request-an-appointment/

Finally, you could get a test at the airport.  If you are only staying overnight in Boston you could get the test when you arrive at the airport.  https://www.xprescheck.com/ search for Boston. Testing sites are in Terminal C (Jet Blue but connected to other terminals by shuttle bus) or in Terminal E (International flights).

Thanks.  With the help of the link for Mass testing sites, I found the CVS Health Community Testing Site at  3 Post Office Square zip 02109. This is perfect location from our hotel and many others. Issue is I can't find a phone number or when I attempt to follow all of their links, it takes me to Minute Clinic locations all outside of downtown Boston. I've tried looking up the address, the name etc. with zero results. Can you check to see if your local phone directory might have a phone listing?

CVS is only listing appointments 2 weeks out.  I checked and the closest CVS's that have the rapid test as of today are in Cambridge (6 JFK Street and 36 White Street)  Not sure where you are staying but you can get from downtown Boston to Cambridge by public transportation (the Red Line). You may want to bring the Abbott proctored tests (make sure they are the ones that offer proctoring) and do the testing from your hotel. Or call your hotel and see if they know any local testing place. And, take a look a the site Lipton provided. It will list the possible locations but you'll need to check each one to see if they have testing available.

Thanks Liberty.  I plan to bring the Optum Binax test kits I bought earlier this year.  I'm just nervous about holding the cell phone for up to 20 minutes during a call or longer for two of us.  I'd rather have someone else do the swab and proctor the test.  I thought I found a CVS at the corner of School St and Washington St.  We are at Broad St at the Hilton. Plus there may be a site near Post Office Square. I use a walker, so I'm trying to keep things close in easy walking distance.

    Appreciate your help.

Those two are on airport property. There is an Embassy Suites just off site, and then there are a half dozen nearby hotels with shuttles.  Expect the Hilton and Hyatt to be the highest priced due to location

Unless your flight is wicked early, I'd stay in the city and only go to the airport for your actual flight

I agree on Embassy Suites; much better rates and airport shuttle plus breakfast.  Evening reception does not give free alcoholic beverages but just snacks.  I've also stayed at the Hyatt which is very nice.

Wondering if anyone has done this excursion in Boston. We have a late-afternoon flight from Logan Intl, and are thinking about booking this. Did a post-cruise HAL excursion in FLL which included a visit to the Everglades, and we liked it.

Any opinions or alternatives? Please bear in mind we will have our luggage with us.

    TIA

Depending on what time your flight is in the late afternoon, as you will need at least two hours to go through security and check in, I think a ship tour is perfect as you will keep your luggage with you in their bus.  It sounds like a perfect choice no matter what it entails or how much it costs.

We are sailing on Celebrity Summit 9 night Bermuda, Charleston, Newport cruise on May 4, 2022.  Does anyone know any Celebrity offers for booking 7 night cruises in 2023 while onboard a cruise?

     Thanks

Basically you are on the wrong forum to ask this type of question.  Go to categories and click on the regular Celebrity site.  Also, although a great question, it is pretty broad.  You really need to start doing your research: date you like to travel, where do you want to go next, any ship or class you might prefer, etc.  At this time the only general offers are the All included with Gratuity, Drinks Package & WiFi/Internet.
