  1. Does anyone have experience or opinion about a do it yourself tour with an ATV or Jeep rental in Hoonah to see bears and other wildlife? A company to recommend? We are not interested in doing this with a group, but would rather have a pre-set GPS and go on our own. How long would you suggest to rent a vehicle? Would a couple hours suffice, or would we want to go for 6 hours? We would like to do a whale watching tour this day as well. We are in port from 10 am until 10 pm.

  2. Because we could get a cheaper flight into and out of Miami, but are sailing from Fort Lauderdale, i need advice about getting there!

We fly into Miami and have a hotel booked in Fort Lauderdale pre-cruise. They do not offer airport shuttle (obviously) from MIA. What is the best way to get there? Cheapest and most efficient.

After our cruise, we are flying out of Miami the following day, hoping to stay in South Beach for the night. What is the best way of getting from Fort Lauderdale port area to South Beach. I hope to get a hotel in SB with free airport shuttle.

  3. We will be visiting St. Lucia again in the future and I am interested in a catamaran excursion to the Pitons. A speedboat is out of the question due to health concerns. Does anyone know of a reputable company who does this? We would like to do an island tour, but most end with a speedboat to Jalousie beach. ?? any tips or ideas?

  4. We are sailing on the Royal Princess October 8 and will arrive at the port early. Once we board, we would like to get off the ship and walk around. Is there anything to see in the port area, without having to take a taxi? I have skimmed through these threads and don't see much.

  5. Our guide made it a full stop. We were there for about 30 mins so were able to admire the perimeter of La Sagrada Familia. If you want to actually go inside, you would have to arrange that before hand with BDT and they will have to purchase a ticket for you. Same for Park Guell and Casa Milla should you wish to visit.

We only did Park Guell. BDT arranged our ticket appointment for us.

You did the Barcelona/Montserrat Tour with BDT?

  6. we have sailed from and into NYC several times. We are from Toronto. Using a shuttle service or cab is ok, but you never know about traffic, and if your ship will arrive on time. Both are a fair distance. Don't forget, you need to get to the airport at least 2 1/2 hours before flight. I am not sure about NCL, but do they offer a shuttle service to the airport?? I would certainly not risk any flight before 1 pm....just my opinion.

  7. We are arriving back into Norfolk after our cruise to Bermuda in October. Rather than rush to get a flight, we are considering staying in Norfolk for a day and flying home the following day.

What is there to see in Norfolk? Places to eat? Anything not to be missed here? Ideas for hotels? We will be staying there one day pre-cruise as well. Any ideas are most appreciated!

  8. This Nevis tour is what we want to do next year. Our arrival time should be 8am so that should be ample time for the ferry ride as long as the ship arrives as scheduled. Of course, the ships' arrival time could change. What would happen if we booked this tour & the ship arrives too late for the ferry ride ? Would we get our money for the tour back or do you pay in full upon arrival ? Thanks everyone for all your valuable information :) .

This is exactly what we are looking to do too!! We are also on the Sunshine Feb 21/16. I have emailed Thenford and asked about a tour to Nevis, but he told me he was not sure he was going to continue to offer it. I have sent him a message today again. If he does continue to offer it...i will post it here!

  9. I am from Canada as well, and although there was no issues with the ports, the customs officers did make a bit of a fuss out of it when arriving back into the US after the cruise. Dad was within 3 moths of expiring and as a snowbird he was awaiting arriving back to Canada to renew it. The customs officer was just a little vocal about it, and the rules, gave him a "warning" and left it at that......

Come to think of it, it was mentioned to me but no big fuss was made about it. It was more a 'gentle reminder". I guess it all depends on the agent and how aggressive they chose to be!

  10. I am also Canadian. I cruised in October with 3 months left on my passport and I was also concerned. It was a non-issue. I even went so far as to contact the tourism board in a couple of the islands for further reassurance. There was nothing to worry about. IF you are truly concerned, just renew your passport. I got mine back within a week. BUT, I can say with confidence that you will be fine. To those saying we Canadians do not need a passport, we do. We cannot even enter the USA to get to a ship without one!

  11. Great start! We did this cruise in August of 2014 and was probably one of our favourites. We also spent 3 days pre-cruise in SJ and we were so glad we did. San Juan is an exciting place to stay. So much to see and do! :) The cruise itself is one of the best in my opinion with an itinerary like no other! We would do it again in a heartbeat! Looking forward to hearing about your adventure!

  12. I hope someone can help me!!! We are sailing into Baltimore on the Pride (repositioning from Tampa). We have a 630 pm flight. I imagine we will disembark around 10 - 11 am...is there something to do for a few hours near the pier. Keep in mind, we will have luggage with us. I don't want to sit at the airport for 6 or 7 hours if we don't have to! It will be end of March, so weather may be a factor. Thanks in advance for any help!!

  13. I am curious about this one as well....The $89 excursion thru Carnival does not appear to give you as much time with the dolphins. I would LOVE to hear about someone's experience here! The other alternative is $139, but looks like you get about an hour in the water with the dolphins. (Hi Judy! :) )

  14. Matt Mitchum has been on the Breeze for a while now.

there was a shake up and a move back then.

I also notice that Karl with a K is not on this list either.

Karl "left the company" in February of 2014....

Butch is now a "head office guy", no longer working on ships
