5-7 each night if you're Elite you are entitled to free drinks at many of the bars now.  And every morning there is a coffee/continental breakfast hosted in one of the restaurants. Maybe that is the lounge they're speaking of?

I thought the same, however, when I asked for clarification they insisted there was a dedicated lounge on their Beyond sailing.  So I was interested to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

It wouldn't be difficult for Celebrity to resurrect the CC lounge.  We certainly enjoyed it and made a number of lasting friendships there.

You should probably re-read what you saw as there isn't one in the way RCI has a Diamond lounge

On the Beyond there's a dedicated CC desk but no one would consider it a lounge

I have been reading for a long time and my comprehension is fine thank you very much.

Celebrity for years had a dedicated CC lounge from 5-7 each evening offering the CC drink menu and passed hours devours.  It stopped with the pandemic and seeing this post my thought is that it might be returning.

The person who posted might have been mistaken that's why I reached out here to see if anyone had a recent experience..

There never was a lounge, so how could it return?

Sorry, but Celebrity had a dedicated lounge foe Elite and above for many years.  Five to seven each night save for embarkation and senior officers' party night.

Last few Celebrity cruises I have done AI.  Next cruise we are not taking a drink plan, instead we are relying on our Elite status for happy hour.  We have a lot of OBC on this cruise.  And it has been quite a while since we have done Elite happy hour (at least 2018).

DH is a hardcore single malt scotch drinker.  Can he upgrade to a better scotch on the Elite plan for the difference in price?  Or will he just need to pay full price for the better scotch?

They don't allow up grades from the Captain's club drink menu.

  5. I just received an email with a Blue chip offer of 60% off select sailings. This is a little confusing as Celebrity's current offer is 75% off the second guest which would be close to the Blue chip offer.

Has anyone else received this offer and explored the details?

Do people bring small gifts for the stateroom staff.  Chocolate or sweets from home.  I read about this quite a while ago but I wouldn’t want to do this if it is no longer a thing.

    Cash $$$$ is King.

Same for us. Called the following and they will reconfirm your points. They have a technical problem. Call Engagement Center at 844-418-6824 North America.

Thanks for the number on hold now.

  8. Well this is interesting.  I have over 1200 earned Captain's club points, now when I log into my account on the Celebrity website it shows zero points and lists my level as preview rather than Elie plus.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

    Why not?

Don't like the menu.  The venue is just okay and the service is usually good.

With the premium you usually pay for Aqua class you could probably book concierge and it in a specialty restaurant ever night if you wanted too and still save money.

You can't book sail only in Aqua class.

I'm a planner and haven't really used a travel agent in years.  I'm starting to look and plan a cruise on Celebrity Reflection for November with two other parties and will need three rooms, preferably close together.  Is there a way to do that on line, yet allowing the other two parties to book with their CC and pay?  Are people mostly booking on their own, or do they use TA's?

use a TA it doesn't cost you and many will provide addition OBC.

Sail on an S or M class ship, especially one not yet revolutionized and then report back again.  IMHO E class ships have been getting the best of everything since they were introduced.  They hand picked the best staff (not that I don't love ALL the X staff), I can't prove it but it feels to me that the staff to passenger ratio is a bit higher (at least at this time), they send all the best live entertainment there, they developed fabulous new shows while the shows on M and S class have been the same for a decade or more, they of course are all new so are in fabulous shape while revolutionizing of other ships have been put on hold, and the list goes on.

Does this mean I don't love Celebrity?  In fact I do and have been loyal for years.  But having sailed all classes, including many since re-start, I can tell you that the experience on E class is not the same as on the other classes.

Can't agree.  The staff on the edge on our recently completed Trans Atlantic was the worst ever.

Example for different bar servers did not know "on the rocks" meant a drink on ice.  Really?  Who trained these people.  A number of bar staff didn't know how to make a Manhattan.  Come on man.

In contrast our recently completed sailing on the Constellation (December 12, 2022) the entire  crew was on point, some of the best service we have every had on thirty plus celebrity cruises.

Excellent point!  I just did a mock booking for Beyond based on this thread and entry level suites for a 7 night Caribbean cruise with 3 sea days and uninteresting (to me) ports of call was $4900 pp.  Aqua class with all the perks was $2600 pp.  I just can't rationalize paying those prices when we just finished a Yacht Club all inclusive experience on MSC for less than 2K for 4 nights and about 4 K for 7 nights.  Just can't do it.

I agree suite prices on Celebrity are very high.  The value just isn't there for us.

I miss the free bag of laundry on Celebrity v. $10 off a $35 bag of laundry on Royal but the four free drinks during the day makes up for it since I don't buy the drink package.

Actually the two free bags of laundry is one of my favorite Elite plus perks, especially on 14 night and longer cruises.  It's a real money saver!

As we had sunset veranda on Beyond , IV was not an issue for us.  Despite liking sunset veranda and the good looks with wow factor,  Beyond  was not our favorite ship. Main reasons : very uncomfortable seating throughout ship and very loud venues with each their own music sometimes competing eg in main areas and restaurants around Martini Bar.
4 dining room concept was great.

    we still prefer S class.

I agree with the strange seating around the ship and the extra loud music, just didn't seem there was a place to enjoy a cocktail and conversation.  We really enjoy the M class ships but the S class isn't bad.

We love edge class , we book suites and the outdoor retreat area is fantastic. I also liked the entertainment on the ship , we sailed edge last year and really looking forward to the beyond this Sunday.

I agree that it's a ship dedicated to suite guests.  My perspective is from the non suite passenger.

Many of us don't like the windows that they call "infinite verandas."  Other people love them.

To me it was an ocean view with a window that opened not a verandah at all.  If I ever sailed an Edge class again ( very doubtful) I wouldn't waste my money on one I would just book a regular ocean view.

Obviously a personal opinion, but I don't think the Edge class is aimed at 'veteran' cruisers...

It certainly doesn't appeal to us at all, but as long as there are new cruisers who do like it then it is good for business...

Agreed, what was it you didn't like about the class?

  18. We just switched our fall 2023 trans Atlantic from the Beyond to the Constellation, we had booked the Beyond before we did this fall's Ta on the Edge.  Having now sailed the Edge class I am not impressed at all, so I am wondering how the majority of veteran Celebrity cruisers feel.

My dislike is based on the lack of bars and lounges, the new dining concept and the amount of deck space devoted to high end boutiques.  To us the Edge was very different from all of the other Celebrity   ships we have sailed on.
