  1. Just wondering where I would see evidence of having this OBC credit? I was told that in addition to the $150 pp OBC (Go Better pkg), my travel agent gave me $150 of OBC. But I am not seeing this on my reservation on Celebrity, nor is it indicated on the invoice my TA sent me.

Should I be seeing it somewhere?

I guess it ultimately comes down to the fact of trusting the travel agent you selected to delivery the services promised.

If you don't trust them why did you book your cruise with them?

  2. Just boarded the Reflection yesterday and the Elite/Elite Plus laundry coupons still states the up to 30 items. No different than previously.

The Drink coupons do state that they cannot be used in the Sunset Bar.

Well that's good news about the sunset bar:)

Enjoy your cruise but keep an eye on Wine-O:eek::D:eek:

  3. In our case, it has never been worthwhile. My TA has always offered us better perks than NextCruise. The only thing is the reduced deposit, but we really don't care about it, because you always have to pay full by payment date.

Note: our TA is in the USA.

It is worth it. You have 60 days from the date of the booking to transfer an on board booking to your travel agent for those additional perks.

  4. On last years Reflection TA coupons worked at the Passport bar, Ensemble Lounge, Sky Lounge, Pool Bar and bar inside the Oceanview. We didn't try the Sunset bar.

Interesting if there are not a large number of Elites on the ship then no coupons and drinks in Sky Lounge only. Lots of Elites on board results in coupons and complaints about where they can't be used:confused:

Not really a complaint as such. More a question as to why Celebrity would further limit the locations choices as the program was to reduce crowding.

Certainly it makes sense to eliminate the martini bar due to their flair presentations, and whatever the molecular bar is now called due to their pricing. Really don't a reason to exclude other areas.

If you look at the spacing there is far more room around the sunset bar than there is at the ensemble lounge.

We are happy with our free cocktails where every we drink them!:):)

  5. Over 1000 elites and above for the reflection TA coming up so no doubt the vouchers will be in place, let's hope they are available in as many bars as poss to spread the crowd around the ship 🍸😎

It would be nice if once you board you could post the bars you can use the coupons at.:):):)

  6. Someone on a rollcall recently posted that Elite drink coupons were not being accepted at the Sunset bar on Reflection. I am wondering if this is fleet wide on the S class ships or strictly the Reflection?

I know that the coupons are not accepted at the martini bar and crush, if they eliminated sunset there won't be many venues to drink at. My understanding was that coupons were to reduce crowding when there were a high number of Elites and above on a particular sailing. This move will be a step in the wrong direction.

  7. Hi Neil,

I missed Silhouette..I wish I was doing TA again this year, but we will be going on Equinox 12/9 sailing. Wishing you a great time on your trip..

Did you end up going on the Anthem to Bermuda? Mine was a cruise from hell..

    I am done with RC.

It seems that X changed their pricing strategy. They used to have better pricing at the beginning and they will raise them as popularity increase. Now they start with inflated pricing to cover perks and drop pricing later, if the sailing shows slow booking - that is what have happening now. I think in the future, I will only book after final payment.

No Iabella fortunately we canceled the Anthem.

We are doing the silhouette TA and then the Eclipse 14 night southern on 11/14

  8. Prices have come down from few weeks ago. But I am still paying less for my 3/24/17 sailing 2D balcony. Waiting for an AQ drop.;)

BTW - X is giving away November and December sailings...I never have seen prices this low, even after final payment.... I think a lot of people will reconsider booking in advance after seeing such price drop. I will.

Agreed Isabela, these recent post final price drps are the largest I have ever seen. The price we just paid for the Silhouette Trans Atlantic was a very pleasant surprise.

Strange things have been happening price-wise for both Celebrity and Royal recently. There was a crazy price drop on E1 balconies for the April 17 spring TA on Freedom OTS. Less than half price for one day !

  9. It was held until the end of our 2nd leg on a B2B earlier this year. That upset a lot of folks who had hoped to get it and use it on the 2nd leg. If you don't intend to use it onboard then holding it until the end would be one less thing cluttering the cabin

If it is important fior you to get the liquor at the end of the first cruise, and with chance they won't delivery it if you are back to back, try buying on the last night. People have been simply allowed to carry their purchases away at that time.

Another method is to simply have someone that is not back to back make the purchase and than give you the liquor I believe you could make the purchase for them on your seapass to use your OBC. You would just give the shop attendant their cabin number and advise that it is a gift.

  10. It may have changed, but I was told that CC#'s don't get assigned until after you return home.

    Have a great trip!

It has changed. Now there is a preview level with no benefits.

Just call the captains club and ask for a number than have the number added to your reservation. Probably both can be done on the same phone call. :)

  11. Very easy if you booked directly with Celebrity.

Just call them and remain on the line until you get to speak with someone -- Don't leave a message and wait for somebody to call you back.

When they answer, they should adjust the price immediately and email you your guest copy of the updated invoice.

There is no charge for doing this and no re-booking or canceling or changing cabins involved (unless you just want to change your cabin).

If they do not mention that they are sending you the updated invoice, remind them to send it to you.

Then check both the new invoice and your reservation in your Celebrity account online, just to make sure the new adjusted prices are correct in both places.

If you used a travel agent, then you will need to contact your TA and ask them to make the price adjustment for you.

Also remind them to send you your guest copy of Celebrity's updated invoice (because Celebrity won't send it directly to you if you use a TA, and there are some TAs who won't send it to you at all unless you ask for it).

You won't be able to see the updated pricing in your Celebrity account online if you use a TA, so check to be sure that it is correct on the Celebrity invoice, not just on the travel agent's invoice, and keep them both.

This is all good advice with a couple of additions. If the price you have just seen is for new bookings only (Exciting deals, for example) your reservation won't qualify for a price drop. In this case you would have to cancel and rebook with a possible lose of cabin.

Second if your reservation contains any booking perks make sure that new prices includes the same price. You don't want to lose a bev pkg to save a hundred dollars.

  12. Do they really only have 4 ships in Europe in 2017???

    Talk about cutting back...

Celebrity counts on much of its business from the US. Europe has become soft for US travelers due to recent terrorist activity and general unrest.

Imho this has caused Celebrity to keep the Equinox in the Caribbean next summer. Time will tell how that will shake out. It didn't go so well in 2010 when the Solstice tried it.

  13. Check and see if you can get insurance now. I had clients who didn't want insurance... a week before the cruise their father got deathly ill. I bought them insurance and he did indeed die the day before the cruise and they cancelled, it was a covered event.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Please becareful with this. Most travel insurance policies require that the purchaser be able to travel at the time of purchase. If the purchaser is already sick or injured at time of purchase the claim will most likely be denied and you will be out the cost of the insurance as well as the cost of the trip. This would also apply to most policies if the condition was preexisting and then aggravated to limit or exclude travel. It's kind of like buying auto insurance after you crash.

I believe the reason the policy covered in the above example was that the parent was alive on the purchase date therefore death was not preexisting. In the same situatation if they had tried to purchase after the parent had passed away IMHO the claim would have been denied.

  14. We MUST Dec 4 Silhouette cruise, planed on getting ins but have none at this time.

Need help and info on with plan of action with the cruise line regarding refund ect. ect.

    any help with advice welcome

    Thank you

Look at the cancellation schedule on your reservation confirmation. You may be in 25% penalty which means that celebrity will keep 25% of your cruise fare. You are entitled to a full refund of port fees and taxes plus gratuities if you prepaid those.

  15. your dining room for Aqua class will be Blu. It is a very nice place to dine and they serve breakfast and dinner.

Blu is open seating so there is no need to make reservations. Even though it was an upgrade you will still receive all the Aqua class benefits.

    Enjoy!:)

  16. It will be the first time cruising with Celebrity sailed with RC previously,

I noticed on my profile I am Select tier I thought been a first timer I should have been Classic any ideas'.

You are receiving CC status based on your RCL level. This will continue up to Diamond/Elite.

You only earn points on the line you actually sail.

  17. We recently parked in the port of Miami garage across from the royal Caribbean terminal, E I believe. When we entered the garage there was a sign on the ticket machine that said :maximum lost ticket charge $220.00.

My question has anyone done a 14 day cruise and said they had lost their ticket and was charged $220.00 rather than the normal 14 day fee of $280.00?

  18. A New York State favorite, a kimmelweck roll is a hard roll similar to a crusty Kaiser roll, sprinkled with caraway and coarse salt instead of sesame or poppy seed topping. The salt and pepper sticks make a great snack something like pretzels. From "The Neighborhood Bake Shop," by Jill Van Cleave

Here is description with the correct spelling.:)

  19. Hi and thanks for the reply, but just to clarify, we will be eating at chops, and on the menu there are upgraded steaks for an additional cost above the (now $42/pp) cover charge. Just wondering if anyone tried these?

Can't comment on the Oasis, but, I just had the aged porterhouse ($18) on the Empress. It was a excellent:), high quality, steak. IMHO well worth the upcharge.
