  1. Hi Everyone.

DH and I are going on the Breeze soon with some family members and will be purchasing the Cheers program. There are two other cabins in the group. In each of the other cabins there is one person that also wants to purchase Cheers but the other adult does not.

My question is...is there a way to switch cabins before sailing and buy cheers and maybe switch back if they find out it is a hassle not being able to access your original cabin? For example one of the cabins has kiddos in it and they might decide they want to switch back.

Has anyone heard or have done this?

  2. We will be staying in a balcony room in the spa on the Dream. I have read that all rooms on board have shampoo and body wash dispensers in the showers, but no conditioner.

I think we get spa toiletries in our cabin though, am I right? Will we also have hair conditioner or do I need to bring my own?

Yes you will get Shampoo and conditioner. If you want more just ask your steward. I'm hook on Coud 9 Spa rooms, I do not care if it's an inside or outside cabin as long as I get use of their pool, hot seats and heated lounges. Good luck. :)

  3. This will be our first cruise on the Breeze (last cruise with Carnival was the Fascination...I wasn't a fan...just not a lot offered, small ship and decor was worn and dated). With that being said, I am hoping the Breeze will have more of a "wow" factor. For the ones that have cruised the Breeze what are some of your favorite things and aspects on board this ship?

Hello, we loved the Bonsai Sushi. We would love to see it on all the ships. Great presentation and delicious. The next favorite is the Cloud 9 Spa. It is restricted and I love the pool. Check it out https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj8goDRsovKAhUNzGMKHbboDNEQFggqMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.carnival.com%2Fonboard%2Fcloud-9-thalassotherapy-pool&usg=AFQjCNEkelhEYTzGS2RsgwrHUs8RWj72WA

Love it, love it, love it. Afterwards you can lay on the hot tiled lounges and dry in minutes. Enjoy!

  4. I am currently booked 02/11/17 on the Vista (Southern Car) however, upon release of the school calendar, they moved Feb break to the week after the norm. So I'm trying to explore my options from other cruisers and just seeking advice on the best route to take.

Here's my options if I stick to February 2017, which I'd like to do.

    -----

#1. Change nothing. I could let the kids miss school for a week. I am not totally against this at all. It is added stress trying to get all the work and crossing fingers that the teacher is able to assist, cause she definitely doesn't have to. And we would also be limted to only miss 5 sick days cause the max is 10, excused or not.

We do want to go to NEW places and on a ship we haven't been on. Option #1 has/will cost around 3k and goes to Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Bonaire and Aruba....I have been to all of these before except Bonaire. But it's on a brand new ship and I get a wonderful cove balcony. We were really just going for the ship......Again, kids would miss school for this option only.

From my research, IF I change my dates, I lose $150 (not a huge deal) of the $900 dep I have paid (early saver). The remaining $750 (which will be the deposit amount for the new cruise) can NOT be my deposit for the new cruise. It will be a credit towards the balance and I will have to pay an additional $750 at booking as a deposit.

Opt #2 Carnival Magic: I would be able to keep my lovely cove balcony. It is going to Costa Maya, Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel. I have already been to Belize and Cozumel and did not care for them both. I am also going to Cozumel again this February. Costa Maya and I think Mahogany Bay will be new places. Total Cost $2200.23 -- cheapest option, even with losing the $150, also a bonus.

    -----

Opt #3 Carnival Fascination: I have cruised a sister ship and was not pleased. It goes to St. Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts and St Maarten. We have been to St Thomas and St Maarten, both which are nice and I'm more than willing to go to St Thomas and take a ferry to St John, where I've never been. So technically, this will take me to 4 new places. Downside, or I guess and Up/Down Side, lol, it departs from San Juan. That. Would. Be. Wonderful. Fly in a day early and really explore San Juan. I have only been once and have wanted to go back every since. So what's the down? I'd have to get an inside cabin, no balcony, maybe could pull an ocean view, because I'd have to buy plane tickets, cab and hotel. The inside room is cheap, only $1465.32. But with everything else we are looking at adding on another $1500 - $2000. Which is about the price of Opt 1.

What would you do personally in the situation?

Hello, IMOP I would take the kids out of school, work with their teachers on the projects that need to be done and enjoy the new ship. Good Luck! :)

  5. We are going on a cruise with our 4 kids and my inlaws. Two of our kids are booked with their grandparents. Up to this point we have paid our inlaws for the kid's cruise so that they could pay the deposit and final payment. But what about when we are on the ship? We are not planning on buying a lot. But there will be gratuities, and the Dr. Seuss breakfast and maybe a build a bear. Can we have the kids' sign and sail card set up with a different credit card than my inlaws, or is that going to complicate things in billing and we might be charged wrong? Or can we go to customer service and just pay our portion? The kids each have a little on board credit because of how we booked, so we are planning on using that towards their expenses as well, but that is probably linked to their room. Also we are booked on a 7 day cruise, though technically from Sat to Sat. How are gratuity figured? $12 per person for 7 days or 8 days? Just trying to finalize our budget so that we are square before the end of the cruise and don't have to worry about it.

Yes you can. You just go to your booking manager on your account and put in guest with privileges in a different cabin.

  6. This post says yes.

Fresh Off The Magic 7/26/15 Good Morning Loves,

We're back from a a wonderful week, and full review shall follow but I did promise some specific details upon return.

Internet- no new package. no social media package. speeds are slightly better, but no overall improvement. sorry:rolleyes:

American Table-rolled out this last week. a few hiccups, but table sans cloths are still lovely, and the menu is still solid, in fact somethings are even better. Dancing continues, bar serves continues, world did not end.:D

Air Conditioning- still spotty in places. Cabin never really cooled off, but the hallways was chilly at times...:(

Now back to the real world--Any one else work to cruise?

I do. We had the new menu in May. I thought it was just as good. My normal items were still on their except for the panko shrimp. I missed it but it did not ruin my cruise.

  7. This is true, but this is also why I think NYC is an important port. Airlines now charge baggage fees and they have become unreliable. You really have to fly in the night before and pay for a hotel. Because of the Key Bridge, a Spirit class ship is as big as it gets for Baltimore, but NYC can get the mega ships, which are obviously popular. If Carnival put a Vista class ship in NYC year round, it would sell out and sell for more than it would in Florida. Florida has tons of competition driving down prices. The local residents also earn less than those in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. NYC is also attractive for international cruisers. They come and stay a few days in NYC before or after. If I'm from another country and I want to come to the US for a cruise, I want to see the Big Apple before I see Miami. You also have the whole month of December where NYC is like no other place on earth. I'm from Baltimore, but I love everything about NY except their sports teams. It's a great place to cruise from other than their ridiculous parking fee, but Carnival isn't going to compete with Breakaway and Quantum class ships with a ship built last century.

Carnival should put one in NY. I agree. It would probably the only time I would ever get to see it..

  8. My wife and I booked a 12 day 'Journeys' cruise for November, 27, 2016 out of Galveston and ending in Port Canaveral. I was really pumped about this one as it hit several Central and South American ports we had not been to.

Unfortunately, I received an email from Carnival this morning informing us that they had canceled the cruise "in order to accommodate her repositioning to Port Canaveral".

It's going to be interesting to see how the refund the money to me...especially since it was entirely paid for with $100 Verizon gift cards...all 27 of them.

    Garnett

Oh no! That's terrible. They switched ships on us when we went out of Puerto Rico last May. We were supposed to have a ship with a Ocean Scenic cabin but switched it to a ship that did not have any. Your cancelled cruise is a totally different ballgame. I'm sure CCL will make it right. Good luck.

  9. I've searched and found several threads with single parents bringing their child but I was wondering about bringing my nephew who doesn't have a father listed on his birth certificate. I'm assuming it is the same as a single parent but just wanted to make sure.

He has a passport and I'll bring his birth certificate and a notarized letter from my sister. Will I have trouble since he has a different last name as me and only one parents signature? Father has never been around

I have brought a nephew and I never had any trouble. Be sure your letter is notarized if for some reason you miss your ship and have to travel back. As for Carnival no you do not need it. Enjoy your cruise.
