  1. I am going on this itinerary. Seems like when I mention it to anyone they get this look in their eye like I made a bad decision.

I've been to Cozumel several times so I know all about that.

I would appreciate any incite good or bad about this itinerary.

    Thanks,

    JT

We went on this itinerary before and loved it. We did a rain forest, water and mangrove tour in Belize. It was the best tour we have done so far in all our cruising and we do a lot of tours. The other ports were amazing too. I don't know why people are questioning it. Go and enjoy your cruise. :)

  2. Some things we do for special occasions. We bring along some fun and colorful bags of candy (or buy them in the sweet shop) and spread them on the table like confetti...and then invite the servers to have some too. We also bring along some string and balloon and have fun blowing them up and tying them to the chairs. A fun homemade mortar board for the girls to wear (yeh, embarrass the heck out of them) with a graduation certificate created on our computers nicely tied up with a fancy ribbon and wrapped around a few twenties for them to spend on shore would be a nice touch. And the special cakes are great. Carnival will give you all the details of how to get it to the table. Have fun.

That's a great idea. We will be cruising in May for a graduation as well.

I do think they will bring your gift and do something for a surprise for them just let them know in advance. I have seen them do other birthday wishes and other special occasions on ships. Have fun...

  3. We did this cruise on the Victory and are booked for it again in May on the Liberty. Can't wait. I have a pretty detailed review of this cruise in my signature that will discuss all of the ports of call with plenty of photos. I hope this helps. Have fun!!

Thanks for the review. We will be going May this year. It's a celebration for my son college graduation. We are so excited. We have not been on this ship before. I see you are going as well. I wonder if it is the same cruise? Thanks again.

  4. I know this is an old thread but can anyone who was staying in 6484 (there were two of you) report back? We are booked in 6460 but the noise from below is beginning to scare me. 6484 is further back so maybe the noise won't be so bad. How was it for you? Plus the huge balcony is a big draw.

We stayed in 6460 on the Magic and did not have a problem with the noise. I don't know if being a different ship as any thing to do with it but we loved our cabin and the balcony.

  5. Our first cruise was in an OV room, though our second was a balcony and we have pretty much been in balconies ever since. Our next three cruises will be in inside cabins. We will have to see how that goes. Two of them are porthole, so we will at least have a little sliver of light to know what time of day it is. Kinda seems like a downgrade, but since we have never sailed in an inside, we don't know until we try it.

The port hole cabins are those what is considered upper/lower I'm confused.

  6. It is wave season so demand across the board is up, hence higher prices. We have a cruise on Sunshine booked for early November and I anticipate it nudging down a little as we get through summer and hurricane season/fall get closer.

We booked the Vista within the last two weeks and it has increased in price so much. I was wanting to book another and the prices have jumped on a lot of them.

  7. In Charleston SC port on 1/28/15 I had a 12 pack of water in original packaging shrink wrap around all bottles and two bottles of wine. Wine was is brown paper bags. He took out my water of the bag shook them to make sure they were water and I said wine is in the brown bags and he said i just need to check the water. Guess depends on the agent. Ours really was wine.

Some cruises I've been on they check and some they don't. i guess it depends on the person doing it.

  8. how did you arrange to use the library for your vowel renewal? we're planning our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal with our kids and possibly a few other family members or friends. we'd love to have a reception w/ cake afterwards but not sure if i want to spend $850.00 AND i would like it on a formal night for our pictures. Thinking maybe it would be great to do just before dinner and then pictures afterward, but wondering how we find a quiet space like the library or to use the chapel for our own special ceremony?

Interesting. Next year we will be married 30 years. When you find out let me know. Do you have to go through Carnival?

  9. I received a gift card for Christmas. When I won $400 at the casino the other day I was so excited I went back home and immediately booked a cruise :D and completely forgot about my gift card (DUH!) so im using it for obc (love free drinking money!)

Congrats on your winnings. I won 750 on a ship when my daughter was with me. Turns out she over spent on her S&S and there went most of my winnings. Lol. :) But we sure had fun! Would have loved to book another cruise with it.

  10. We typically keep our cooler on a towel (in case of possible leakage) on a small table in the room. If we need ice, and the steward is not readily available, I just take a one gallon zip lock bag and go to the buffet area and fill it up. Then I put the zip lock bag with ice in the cooler. The bag helps contain the water from the ice as it melts.

Great idea. I guess we need to put gallon zip lock bags on our list. Thanks.
