Earlier in this thread, at least one poster was referring to big price drops of P&O cruises which, due to the very high levels of cancellations, wouldn’t have surprised me. I also received a marketing email from P&O’s biggest UK cruise specialist the other day referring to big price drops. However, having spent some time looking at these ‘offers’ (and also the cruises we are booked on) I cannot see any really cheap cruises. Many are Saver fares, so if you factor in the loss of OBC that many of us received with Select fares the ‘saving’ isn’t worth the risk of getting a cabin in a poor location - so situation normal. I also looked at the price per night for balcony cabins and suites of these ‘offers’ and they are no better than we usually achieve by booking at launch. Am I missing something or are the bargains on inside cabins, which nobody wants at present for fear of being confined to one?

My cruise in May on the Arcadia to Canaries has plummeted.

Circa £950 for 16 night in a balcony cabin.

I reckon it could be cancelled either due to the virus by the govt, but also a lack of passengers. (Same reason)

I am just going to sit and wait either way having paid in full.

I will go if the cruise goes ahead come what may.

I fully understand others who for whatever reason choose to do otherwise

Travelling on 15th May on Arcadia down to the Canaries.

Fully paid not cancelling, unless P&O decide it for us.

After reading this thread I looked at what my cruise is going for now, I wish I hadn't.

It has gone down significantly from when I booked a few months ago.

This could be The 'C' word or the normal filling up of cabins.

  3. We have recently suffered a disappointment and to cheer ourselves up are thinking of booking a cruise with P&O in the near future. I started looking just over a week ago and note that the holiday we were most interested in last week is £100 cheaper this week... this is only our 2nd cruise, our first was booked months in advance and we were happy to pay the then going rate to get the cabin we wanted etc.

Can anyone advise whether the prices continue to reduce as the date of the cruise looms and if it is worth waiting to see "the whites of their eyes"...?

    Its supply and demand.

If they have to fill cabins it will go down, if they get an influx of bookings it will go up

Pays your money (or not) and take your chance

I booked 4 weeks ago only now to find the same cruise is £125 cheaper

  4. We have just booked a Caribbean cruise on Azura. We are booked on a Thomson flight and I have just looked to book our seats in advance. The cost is £120 for the to of us! We have done this cruise before and although I don’t remember how much we paid, I don’t remember feeling so ripped off. Is it the same on Thomas Cook flights? Not that we can change flights now anyway.

We are on Thomas Cook in December 7th (Britannia) and we had to pay £120 for both ways, and we are in Premium
