  1. Luminae felt less crowded than CK and the food and service were quite good. I preferred the view and open feel of CK/SL to Luminae and Michael’s Club. They are all quite nice, but Oasis Is much larger than the Reflection (where we had a suite) so is something to consider as well. Really enjoyed both vessels and their suite venues.

  2. I have on occasion and do not know if it makes a difference, but since I was going to do it anyway, some before and some at the end versus all at the end should not make things worse and may help a bit. I have never been anything but pleased with the service I have received, but do not know how or if additional tipping before the end affected the service.

  3. I am betting on RCI. Our Genie gave us some great gifts that proved he read our survey and mentioned that he had to work with the shore side folks to find the particular t-shirt he got for us. Since none of the items we received were from the on-board shops he either dashed out while we were in a port or on turnaround day (which seems unlikely) or worked with other RCI staff to procure them. I do not know this for certain, just seems likely. I would guess, as I did prior to this thread, that most people assume any gifts are funded by RCI and while they may adjust a gratuity for the thoughtfulness, there is a possibility that the additional gratuity would not cover the cost.

  4. CLS are great rooms and we really enjoy deck 17. The two bathrooms, high ceilings and large windows give the rooms a much more open feel than any "traditional" room I have stayed in. Proximity to CK/SL are not super valuable, but they are nice, especially for coffee and breakfast. With those things said however, I do not think I would spend the extra $1,300 as that would cover airfare and/or dining, excursions, etc. Just my $.02, you will have a great time in either room. Sky Class is worth the cost, at least to us.

  5. Our Genie definitely read ours. My niece is a Harry Potter fan and got a color changing mug and I think a T-Shirt. I put Jerry Garcia as someone I would have liked to have dinner with and got a really nice T-Shirt related to him. I also mentioned cigars in the questionnaire and he gave me a travel humidor along with two ship models, towels and such. It was a great way to end the trip, they were waiting for us when we returned from dinner on the last evening.

  6. We have done three over the water cabanas and love them. Unfortunately I think the Barefoot Beach ones are pushing $500 now so they are pricey, but as was said previously, being away from the crowds is nice and having a "home base" for things while on excursions and such is nice. Whether it is a bungalow or cabana, I say do it :)

  7. Thank you for taking the time to review the various aspects of Star Class. Sebastian was our Genie and he was exceptional, but he has been at it awhile and really made the trip special for us. He checked on us regularly, made sure we had everything we needed and the gifts we received showed he read the questionnaire. I still wear the Jerry Garcia shirt he got for me. I am not sure I would pay the price we paid again, but the deal we got on our Allure sailing in made it worth doing Star at least one more time. I hope it is close to our last experience, but if not, it will still be a heck of a time.

  8. We have done several Sky sailings in Crown Lofts and really enjoyed them. Not quite the VIP treatment we get in Star, but still had excellent service. We find the Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen a nice way to get away from the crowds and the help we get with things from the Concierge that can be painful from guest services. We were able to board early, leave conveniently and if you are heading to Labadee you will enjoy Barefoot Beach. Have a great trip and don’t be shy about asking for things that will make your trip special.
