Yes, we are past guests. How do I know about the past guest party?
There will be an invite on your bed one night.
Please DO NOT remove tips for the MDR as it is split up to all the servers, even the ones who work the Lido. That would not be right nor fair. Enjoy the MDR and all free places to eat.
Pass on Bingo, photos, shopping, but if you are local you can save a few bucks by buying a few bottles of booze that will be delivered to your room the final night to take home.
Have a great cruise and come back and tell us all about it:)

Jimmy, Yes, I know, crazy rules. We just returned from the Legend, and I had an embarrassing situation too. By your picture we appear to be close in the age bracket.............not spring breakers. We were getting back on the ship after a very fun snorkel excursion. My sister was traveling with us and when we get together we turn into school girls and giggle. Well, we were going through the ships security, we were giggling, and I stumbled. I do have a "funny" foot and do not need any alcohol to loose my balance, even walked with a cane for four days after that. Yes, I had a cane packed for this very purpose.
We had lunch and returned to our cabin. There was a knock on our door, it was security. They locked our mini bar and took away my drinking priveleges for 24 hours as they "thought" I was drunk. DH and I went to the service desk to ask for a test........walk a straight line, say abc's etc. They refused to give me one. No amount of my medical condition was listened to.........very embarrassing for me. Never sent me to the Doctor, it was security's decision. When we returned to our room an invitation for an open bar past guest party was on our bed.......Go figure!!! And we even won a bottle of bubbly that evening!
You are correct, have to order some rum runners!:)

Are these shows shown on TV? Why even go if they are.........never saw one and we cruise a lot.

Agree! Pretty much like saying cruise line dictates class, but it has been said. I am sure there has never been a case where someone wearing a tux acting like a donkey:D

Good one!!

Wear proper footwear on your good foot and you will be fine.
Dress code aside - when you wear crutches (especially when first learning how to use them) you need to wear good, solid, closed toe/heel shoes for support.
Thanks for the advice, I just crawled back from the bathroom. This is not fun!
-
I just came back from the emergency room and can not wear a shoe on my right foot as my foot is wrapped in an ankle support!!!!!!!! Also on crutches that I am having difficulty learning how to use. I hope I am the execption to the rule.
Thank goodness I an not hosting Thanksgiving dinner!! Can not put weight on it until I see the Doctor next week. No joke! DH is TRYING to cook dinner!
-
Well, I asked for that!! But only the jacket is showing. He COULD have black dress jeans on!! Good one!!!:D
You do have to admit he does look out of character.:)
My DH was turned away years ago for wearing jeans on a non formal night. We were both dressed '50', me in a poodle skirt, he like James Dean as we were cruising with a band hired by Carnival who were friends of ours. We had late dinner and there was an oldies party afterward, no time to change. One of the bands wifes had to argue with the Maitre'd to allow us in. My how things have changed!!!!

Welcome home..... Hope you had a great cruise. How was the other entertainment? Shows? Dancing? What type of music? We have late dinner, how long did dinner take? I am hearing it is very slow, but I guess it depends on where you are seated and the waiter. Any info for that?
How was the Atlantic? We don't mind rough seas. What was the temp's?
Were you able to swim, snorkel? If we park at the pier, what time to arrive? We are Plat if that matters.
Well, you did ask for questions:D
Thanks in advance:)

Sounds like he is really making an effort to dress well to impress as he sees fit, just hate the men who show up in a wrinkled shirt, dirty
kackis and putting no effort into what should be an "Elegant Evening"
For you, please eat at the Lido, for the OP'S friend, he will be welcomed in the MDR.............Can you see Willie Nelson in a tux?

They can't do away with all the canned sodas as they have to stock the in room coolers.
Anyone know how many ounces you get with a Limoncello? Is that the one where they pour it from a little caraf into your glass?
Thanks

We lived on the Splendor for 7 weeks, sent out one bag of laundry as Platinum and they ruined everything! We had to literally peel socks apart!!!........So for 7 weeks I hand washed EVERYTHING!!!!!

Husband and I are going on a B2B next weekend. Would like to bring 4 bottles of wine on the cruise with us for our b2b but was just told by Carnival that this is not possible. However, I've read, on here, that as long as you show them documentation for your next cruise, that they will let this slide. Any one have any experience with this not being the case?
It seems the worst that would happen is they take the wine away but give it back on the last day, which would be the first day of the second leg?
we did a B2B2B and took 6 bottles, just show all your docs.no problem:D

What about Verizon in Ensenada, Cabo and Puerto Vallarta?
That is Mexico whether you are on the ship or not. Everyone is talking about U.S. or territories.
-
Why couldn't you just "take two chairs" from the outdoor Lido deck when no one was looking? I doubt if anyone would stop you. Store bought camping/fold up types would be way too light.
-
Yes, just dial their room number, and if they do not answer just leave a message:)
-
I'm not as computer savvy as you but I do strongly suggest that this is set up prior to your cruise. This will give you and family a direct link to your forum without any extra keystrokes. That is what we did. We had my laptop and stayed forward on the Riveria deck, if that mattered. As others said, half the time I was frozen off and had to re do everything, sometimes it went faster than others, like 2am. We "talked in code" a lot as I had others on the ship following me, and people were asking me how my dog was!! Actually it was more like took Granny to the DR and..........., but since this was not anyone's business, our son wrote that he took the dog to the vet. ;) We were pretty boring and used initals for peoples names, just be creative........the criminals are lurking!!!

Prom dresses are perfect for Elegant night and hope she wears that dress!!
You said she was your niece and you are going to Cozumel, Mexico, and she is a minor. I believe she will need notorized permission from her parents. Please check that out.

We did the South American repo. She was our home for 7 weeks, needs updating badly. Hope you like pink!!!!!!!! Was Malcolm the CD? He is very funny, but a bit over the top! The crew was great.

Can anyone tell me how the Funville Forum works? Is is fast/slow? Anyone used it to stay in touch with family? Good? Bad? Also, is there a way to upload iPhone pics via bluetooth or wifi or ...? I'm not interested in purchasing the wifi plan - I would just like to know how far I can take this concept while on the Carnival Dream. Thank you!
We did a 49 day cruise around the Horn of South America, and it was a Godsend to keep in touch with our son and home, my 90 year old mother........no she is not on line, but our son and I ping ponged back and forth each day. We did have a time difference, and their wifi was sooooooooooooo slow that at times I had to do it in the middle of the night............but it worked for us for 7 weeks. I did use the cabin phone to call home at $1.99 per minute once a week to talk to Mom. All pictures were downloaded on our laptop, not the internet, don't think you can do that on Funville, but you do have access to the entire Carnival site. Hope this helps.

We just did an 11 night repo.........two elegant nights. Have a great cruise

Please come back and tell us about your cruise..........we are on her in Jan and want to know about the entertainment, music, etc. Have a great cruise, it is going to be warm tomorrow.:)

To me, someone who is disabled can't walk and cannot manage for themselves. We're talking about those who aren't disabled and use the wheelchair to get on board before others, because THEY don't want to pay for FTTF or wait in line. If you waited in line like everyone else, there's no problem.
You have a very limited view of what a disability is. There are thousands that do not include being unable to walk or care for themselves. Most disabilities are unseen or unnoticed. Many of THESE people also need a bit of help.
-
I'm talking about the OP who's daughter is having a bone marrow biopsy and is blind. If she needs to get on first, then let her on! Other people should stop being so petty thinking that they need to hurry and get on before people who do actually need to get our of crowded areas and off their feet. Are you in such a hurry that you wouldn't be willing to wait for a blind girl with cancer to get on board before you so she can be comfortable???
I said something similar about we would allow her/anyone in a wheelchair to go before us out of respect, but my post was deleted.

Hi Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Grand Cayman
Any help much appreciated thanks
You will be tendered to Grand Cayman. Not to be missed is swimming with the stingrays. Your kids will love it and so will you. There are venders selling tours for 1/3 the price of Carnival. They are located after you get off the tender and walk through the secure area right before the selling huts/stores. Grand Cayman is pretty safe. Be careful in Cozumel, but do buy some real vanilla for baking, and it also makes a good gift. Not sure about the other two, but do join your roll call! Have a great cruise, and Happy 50th birthday!
Smaller older ships
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We love the smaller ships and wish there were more of them. We pretty much went through the Fantasy class, but our favorite and best cruises were ships no longer around. They were 20,000 tons with 600 passengers. They were very intimate and everyone knew each other after a few days. They did not feel small at all.......many bars and lounges, lots to do. The newer larger ships are pretty overwhelming.
