  1. I have booked my first Alaskan cruise for next May. Now I have become obsessive about trying to plan the Air portion of the trip. It will be a multi ticket, flying into Vancouver and out of Seattle. If I book now the prices are in the $515.00 pp range. Is it too early to book our flights? What are the chances that the fares will go down? I know that no one has a crystal ball, but wondering about past experiences of others.

I am always excited about a future cruise, but I think this one has them all beat! :D

  2. How do you message John Heald? If you can tell me, I'll ask him about it.

I am also on the upcoming 6/7 cruise, if you find a way to reach John Heald, please tell him about the poor housekeeping concerns which have been expressed here! There must be something that can be done, this is not the norm, so it needs to be checked out. Thanks.

  3. We'll be on there with you!!

Been anticipating this cruise for soooo long. Wonder if there is anything we could do to build up our immunities, just in case? Any Medical Professionals out there with suggestions?

  4. Give them a break we just got off today and there was alot of sickness on our cruise. I found a Baggie it Tylenol in the nightstand however so what our cabin steward was awesome. I hope you don't have one of our rooms though.

What kind of sickness? Motion? Curious because we will be on the Liberty soon.

    Which deck were you on?

  5. Speaking of OBC it's use it or lose it correct? Can you use it in the casino then cash out the remaining balance?

No, you do not have to "use it or lose it". On our last cruise, we had about $150.00 of our OBC left after all charges were deducted, even the tips, went to the Service Desk and they paid us the balance in CASH. Simple, no need to go through the Casino. What fun to come home with cash!

  6. Yes. We did it in November 2011. I remember I got the info off threads on Virgin Gorda Baths. Worked like a charm. You can find the ferry schedules prior to going. It's super easy...I'm a huge planner/low risk taker person and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We had TONS of time there too.

Thank you, very much. I will look into the Ferry. I am happy to hear that it was easy for you to do. I have been a little concerned about snorkeling back to the boat after reading about the currents being strong. So with your advice, I think I need to rethink this excursion choice.

  7. If the excursion brings you in via boat I would save yourself some money and take the ferry to VG on your own and then get a cab to the baths. You can just hold your beach bags up when you go through higher water (up to your waist). Then you are at the beach with all your things. We took our own snorkel gear and just went in from the beach. Probably an hour later all the excursion boats came up right in front of us and let people off. It's so easy to do it on your own. I think they also rent gear there for about $15.

That does sound like good advice, but I am such a planner, I am nervous about trying to take the ferry and taxi on my own. That is why we booked the snorkel excursion. Have you done the Ferry/Taxi route yourself?

  8. We always stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites when we cruise out of Port Canaveral. I just booked this hotel again today for our pre-cruise stay in April

I have booked this hotel's Park N Cruise package for my upcoming June Cruise. I had originally booked a package with the Country Inn & Suites as I have stayed there before and was pleased with their package. Later I found the Comfort Inn Package which was less expensive and had good reviews, so I booked it. I will save about $60.00. I have not yet cancelled the CI&S stay, however, I am concerned with the shuttle service reviews I have seen on the Comfort Inn. I would love some feedback with regard to this. I have read that the shuttle service is from an outside company at Comfort, as opposed to the CI&S shuttle service which is ran by the hotel itself.

Help! I love to save money, but do not want to risk poor shuttle service both pre & post cruise.

  9. I am researching my options for a hotel park n cruise package in Port Canaveral for next June. My search shows a Park & Cruise Package that includes a hotel for only $8 and free parking and shuttle!!!!! Too good to be true, I am hesitant to call the number, wondering if anyone has any information on this one. I am thinking it might be a time share type thing.

  10. We've used a Travelon successfully. They are available through Amazon. Click Here.

It's analog (no battery to worry about) and has a red hand so one person can weigh and check the reading. It has shown to be accurate to within a pound of the airport scales.

    Happy Travels,

    Charlie

Thank you, very much! Will check it out.
