  1. We are heavily booked for travel over the next two years, both in Oz and overseas. About 9 coach/driving tours and 12 cruises. The cruises range from a 4 night Murray River cruise to 20 days on Azamara in Western Africa.

I have no idea how many will go ahead though.

Our first overseas trip is to Japan in October for a Celebrity Solstice cruise, fingers crossed they let us in.

The last of my parents just died and they used to live in Port Douglas.

They moved back to Sydney and regretted it.
They said a few times they wanted to go back but where just to old to move again.

So I should have about $1600 in FCC with Royal and I’m going to book some grand suites on radiance.

We are going to take them back to Port Douglas

Condolences to you, and how nice of you to do that.

Just received notice from Celebrity that Celebrity Eclipse Aus/NZ cruises are cancelled thru 17-April '22. So that just confirms for us for our QLD coastal cruise Mar 26 is gone!

We had only paid deposit, transferred from Solstice 4-Apr '21 so we will take the refund offered. They are offering 125% FCC good thru 31-Dec 22 or a move to same cruise in '23 (or within 4 weeks of the original date in '22), but I think it is time to reset on cruising until some normality returns.

We are taking a refund as well, already have Celebrity FCCs. The 125% is tempting, but the ships arrive late October so there is only an 8 week window to cruise. If the FCC covered the season (to April 2023) we would have taken it.

By releasing at least some of the sailings through Apr 2024 a bit early, they can gauge interest (and collect deposits) for what post-COVID business might look like.

I think it's a wonderful idea. I have two Caribbean cruises booked with Celebrity for October/November this year which I won't be able to get to (Australia has a closed border, so I can't leave). Because Carnival has released their Caribbean itineraries I will book at least one cruise with them.

You made me look real fast. The itinerates for Western Caribbean have been up for a few weeks but not the Eastern which is what I am waiting for and got excited about until I saw there had been nothing added as yet.

Carnival Celebration has both Eastern and Western. I am looking at doing a B2B.

And so more vaccinated international travellers by the end of the year are posting stories about visiting other countries that FOMO might kick in for Australians who like to travel. If so this might increase vaccine uptake here. Any thoughts?

I agree with you, I think vaccine acceptance will increase as time goes by. I wouldn't be surprised if certain states closed their borders only to the unvaccinated should an outbreak occur.

Thanks Rosie, so I presume then Norweigan Spirit will not be here at all for the cruise season Dec 2021 to April 2022?  Many if not all cruiselines will be the same, 'no appearance your worship.'

Yes, I imagine so Uncle Les. I can't see any large ships here while our international border is closed.
