Hi,
Yes, I received the blue tote bag on my cruise on the Majestic Princess last week.
Chuck
Have so many bags at home that we left ours on Majestic last week.

Hi,
I cruised aboard the Majestic Princess last week. There is no charge for the Hollywood Conservatory and there are small private areas with seats near the windows. The Conservatory is used as the Elite Lounge in the late afternoon / early evening and for some events (for example, the pumpkin carving demonstration for Halloween). This is a very attractive area with skylights. The nearby Hollywood Pool Club is used as the nightclub in the evenings.
I really enjoyed this cruise and booked the Love Boat theme cruise on this ship that departs on Feb. 26.
Chuck
We were also on that same cruise last week. My only concern was the very very strong chlorine odor was in the Hollywood pool room; you had to walk through that area to get to the Conservatory. They need a door between the pool area and Conservatory. It definitely is a beautiful area for viewing and relaxing at the front of the ship but we would never stay very as you could always smell some slight chlorine.

I have never been on a Princess cruise that they did not give us one----but haven't been on post pandemic..

So why didn't use one you could walk to. I used CVS earlier this month and had my negative results in hours.
They did not give those tests. I stopped to ask even after checking their website.

After our experience yesterday, we are now supporters of the at home test for covid. We live in an area where I can literally walk to a Rite Aid, CVS or Walgreens; none of which supplies the necessary antigen or PCR tests. Closest recommended test from Princess website was a Walmart (connected with Quest Diagnostics) in another town--not exactly walking distance! I went on Quest website and made appointments for both myself and DH. They sent a confirmation of the appointments complete with QR codes. They also sent each of us a reminder both last week and this past week. Went to appointments on time yesterday only to be told that I could take the test but some information was missing from his application. Pharmacist recommended that we drive the entire way home, get on computer to add information and return in time for them to close. NOT! I took my test and who knows when I will get results--embarkation is tomorrow in San Pedro. After reading so many posts here on CC, I decided just last weekend to order at home home tests from Optum. Frustrated, we came home and DH had his test completed within 25 minutes. I have chatted with 3 other people who have had similar problems with the Quest website. Why would Quest send 3 reminders on an application not complete???? One couple ended up paying high price to have a test at a corner store. I don't fault Walmart and I was feeling guilty for possibly making mistake on husband's application. May not have been my fault. Tomorrow will be our first post pandemic cruise but we also have cruises planned for Dec., Jan and Feb. LONG TIME NO SEA-tired of being home and not getting any younger.

Really enjoyed all your comments and photos. We embark tomorrow on the Majestic for 7 days so will be in same ports. Won't be enjoying a suite but looking forward to dining in CC--am sure we will have same type service you did. One thing I was really surprised about was those charming towel animals as have never seen that done on a Princess ship. This will be our first post pandemic cruise. LONG TIME NO SEA. Big CONCERN today is getting the test results back in time and we will never deal with Quest again. Have an at home test if I need to use it tomorrow morning!!!!!!

We have appointments tomorrow morning as our cruise departs on Sat. Know I will be nervously checking phone/computer. Our friends used the same place last month--tested on a Thursday morning and did not get results until 9 pm on Friday. We only have one Princess recommended test site in our area so no other choice. Do have the at home test as a back-up.
-
We also avoid the buffet and will be enjoying being waited on in the dining room. The one item that we can't forget to pack is a bottle of good hot sauce--then we leave it on the last morning for the servers to enjoy. It is always a topic of conversation.

I can see all of ours including the new ones I booked just yesterday.

Since we prefer Club Class, those cabins are often in that area of the ship. We have had those cabins on the Regal, Royal and are booked on Baja on the Majestic.

Incentivizing newbies with free upgrades likely to bring those folks back ... and, I suspect, they spend more $$$ (photos, shops, etc.) than seasoned Princess pax.
That happened to us on very first cruise as went from obstructed to regular balcony. We have now done 18 cruises with 6 more planned and it was our only upgrade. We now just book Club Class and get where we want on the ship.

I replied as quickly as I could letting them know what I thought about their app. I certainly did not choose the cruise due to the app.

Our first scheduled cruise is Nov. 30 and the second one is January 4.
Just now, RedSoxfansgirl said:On majestic out of LA, didn’t get my results in time, I was able to test at pier. $150 for people who ignored the test. I didn’t have to pay at the pier.
I was wondering about that. Did Princess do the testing? Someone stated that there was a possibility of a testing site near the IOWA ship???

Make sure the person who does your test marks it "priority." Depending on how long you have until your next cruise, ordering the home test kits is a good idea.
Our first scheduled cruise is Nov. 30 and the second one is January 4. Thanks for mentioning "priority: request as might not thought to request.

This will be a great improvement. Hopefully, it works better than the app!
Anything would work better than the app. After trying to call Princess several times during the day, I was on the phone at 8 this morning and finally got through. The app just would not take the credit card information. App on my phone seems OK but not able to enter anything on husband's phone! It won't even recognize him and his birth date.

We are scheduled for the Quest/Walmart testing but...... It was the only site that Princess had recommended. 3 friends just used the same site several weeks ago and they were told that they could not guarantee the results within 2 days. They took the test on Thursday morning and they nervously had to wait until 9 p.m. on Friday to get their results. We are seriously considering ordering the at home tests as a back-up plan.

We are booked to Hawaii for Jan. 4 and plan to make final payment next week. Need to cruise!

We are booked b/b on 4/10 and 4/17 so surely hope we will be on both cruises. Would be so fun to be on a brand new ship. Friends are on the GRAND today--first ship from San Pedro since the pandemic.

I have a brown pair (casual) and a black pair(formal) of Echo sandals - just a thought - but nothing wrong with the flip flops ... just NO CROCS under any circumstances 😄
My husband only wears Echo sandals since his feet swell. Of course, he wears them on both formal and informal nights. He is a golfer and wears them golfing. I haven't worn heels for years and just wear dressy sandals on formal nights.

I am dealing with not being on a ship today. Three good friends just boarded the GRAND this morning and I wish we were with them. I am sure this is the first Princess ship out of San Pedro so it is exciting. We might have been with them but husband had minor surgery this week so staying close to home. Our first post pandemic cruise is scheduled on the MAJESTIC on October 30--then we have five other cruises planned including on the DISCOVER.
MamaFej-know you are going to enjoy Club Class. When friends kept talking about CC, I seriously did not think we would become addicted to it but now it is the only cabins we book. Like the saying, if you don't fly first class, your kids will.
No antigen tests anywhere near us so we had to book a PCR test. In fact, when I typed in our zip code, Walgreen pharmacies in Washington state showed for antigen test-crazy!. Those friends on ship used the same Walmart and test results did not get to them until 9 last night.

Many thanks for the research. Just had husband watch the video as will probably be ordering the kits for next month's cruise. Unable to find an antigen test in our area. Doris

Someone posted a YouTube video of a gentleman taking the at home antigen test. Could someone find it for me. We are at wits end with trying to get a test at MyQuest.
-
Many many thanks to all the responses. The form was mailed today as I am not computer savvy nor do we have a fax. What would we do without Cruise Critic friends?? See you onboard!

Thrax--I was sure you or PamfromCA would know how to do this and then to think you even had a copy of the form. It will be in the mail tomorrow. I always read your comments. Felt so bad during the fires that could have really affected your family more severely than they did. Maybe someday we will be on same cruise. We don't like to fly so only plan cruises from LA. Like you and others, too many cruises cancelled but are still planning Oct. 30 on the Majestic. We even have a b/b booked on Discovery in April too. Thanks for the form and hope you get to cruise soon! Doris & Dick from Apple Valley.
