1. My sister went and renewed her drivers license here in Georgia. They give out cardboard temporary license and say the real one should be received in 2 weeks which puts us just at our departure date next Friday. Airport won't accept paper temporary id's but she works for airline so she can use her work Id to get through TSA. but will royal accept her birth certificate and paper temporary id? She has an expire passport will that be accepted with birth certificate?

  2. We didn't pay to assist our then four year old in his cupcake class, although I did contribute heavily with purchases at the end :)

It was a very enjoyable experience and I would certainly recommend.

    .

Thank you so much. I may not pay for either. The 7 year old is Ms. Independent and the 4 year old is starting to be that way too.

  3. I have a 4 year old and a 7 year old I would like to do the cupcake class with. I'm sailing the Oasis on September 17th.

For the under 5 class do I have to pay along with my 4 year old even though I'll just be helping him?

And then again would I have to pay for the 6 and older class to sign up my daughter?

I really don't want to pay for both classes for myself. I would prefer to pay for me to participate with the younger one and then just watch my daughter do her thing in the older class.

  4. If you are talking about the Prohibition party, on our 9/10/16 sailing, it is on day 4, the 13th at 10:30pm.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

How do I find this information? I'm on the 9/17 sailing.

    Thanks everyone for the tips.

    NEVERMIND

Of course as soon as I posted this I found it LOL! Thanks for the info

  5. Just because they can doesn't mean they should. This is not a law its a policy. If they have to rely on the contract to not do they right thing then they have lost. Hurricanes and natural events, war etc. I would not expect refund of a change fee by another name. When RCI makes a corporate decision they should not tie the hands of their agents with a policy. How many people would they actually have to refund? airline mile fees? Is it 10 is it 500? I wonder what the actual cost would be. I am guess well under 50,000 in a transaction worth a few hundred million. Events like this is how laws get passed. Just like when they added the fuel surcharge outside of the contract a few years ago. RCI had no problem charging money they were not entitled to by "contract."

I may be wrong but the contract with signature is not turned in until you board right? so if the cruise is cancelled before boarding has the purchaser really agreed to the policy yet?

  6. This post has been really helpful but please forgive me I think I am still slightly unclear.

We want to purchase the 3 dinner package for our cruise on the Oasis. I'm clear that they get to pick our first restaurant but we pick time and 1st/2nd night. What are the actual restaurants that can be used for this package?

    Chops

    150 central Park

    Giovanni

    and Solarium

But what about Izumi and Sabor? I see in the small writing it says Izumi Hibachi can't be used for the package. And can we repeat restaurants? What if the one they chose is not one we wanted to partake in?

    Thanks!!

  7. Sooooo Is the boarding process still just arrive before xxx time (whatever time RCCL specifies for my specific cruise) and check-in, receive boarding number based on check-in time? Or has RCCL moved to assigned arrival times slots? Last august we just went around 11-12 (although RCCL said 1-3) and everything was fine?

  8. acbat's child-in-the-room (not his, his sister's) is 7 months. I don't know if that's now or in September.

Yes the baby will be two days shy of 7 months on the day is sailing. They ended up not making us pay final payment until they were able to work everything out. So they extended the final payment date out twice. The seemed disturbed that it took so long to get an answer and kept commenting that the ship usually responds in a day or two. But none he less we're set and on to evaluating drink packages. Lol. Thanks everyone.

  9. Get that in writing! Make double sure it is in the account notes, get the names of everyone, and insist you get it in writing.

It seems to me that Royal should be splitting you into two standard balcony rooms at this point and not charge you additional; that would be the only satisfactory outcome to me if they are not willing to put in writing that you can have the room you booked without fear of being denied boarding.

They finally received an answer back from the Ship, after a week of trying and two final payment extensions, saying it was ok to add the infant. We are paid and ready to sail the Oasis!!!

  10. I would be proactive about this. Do not wait for them to check / call.

From the sounds of it you booked direct with RC so they should have no problem dealing with you directly.

I know Resolutions Managers are working on Saturdays.

You read my mind. Just got off the phone with a supervisor. She assured me that the 1st supervisor was trying his best to get an answer. That yesterday he felt he should have heard back and since he didn't he sent another email or whatever they do to add urgency to the matter. She told me he will be in today and she will personally work with him to get in contact with the ship and that even if we enter penalty phase they would not penalize us if we received a answer which would cause us to have to cancel and rebook another way.

  11. I had a similar situation with RC recently where they booked my room and told me we would be fine with my son and then were told we would NOT be due to occupancy limits. I had spoken to five different people. I recommend you document everything including who you speak to.

It took two more rounds with resolutions and then escalating up the corporate ladder to get it resolved. (I was happy with the resolution).

Have them confirm the requirements on the crib...

Thank you for the advice. Fingers crossed.

  12. We just booked a Family Oceanveiw with Balcony on the Oasis. The RCCL rep said he is pretty sure they can add a baby as a 7th person in the cabin. He spoke with his manager and he agreed that he thought they could but wanted to send a message to the boat for confirmation. I should add they stated the reason they are pretty sure they can is because the room is the same size as some suite (can't remember the type of suite) and that they knew they could do it for the suite. Also that the computer would normally say they could not do it but that message was saying it was permitted. Has anyone ran across this situation? We are still awaiting an answer from the ship but final payment is tomorrow and we would need to change the booking if the ship says no. Been waiting on the ship three days and they swear they will call us (of course I've already called to check up). The ship is in home port today so do you think today we will get an answer? Sorry I'm just super excited and want to get everything squared away.

  13. I think I read some where that all ports will roll out staggered times in 2016. It started in Galveston as a trial.

I'm sailing on Elation in March and I went ahead and checked in to see if it would be in NOLA. It didn't show up. A couple weeks later I received an email stating I had to chose a time. So I went back under there and there was a place to choose time.

It could be Jacksonville hasn't started it yet, but it's coming.

So we leave from Miami on Saturday am I correct that this does not apply to us? I have gone back and rechecked my online check-in and it says nothing about choosing a port arrival time. Only ships leaving Galveston and NO at this point in time have to do this right?

  14.
I just thought of something. Does the ship excursion include food and drinks? If not, the New Horizons excursion would be the better choice, IMO. The food is good so it's like a party. You need to pay cash to get the discount, though. You need to make reservations ASAP to get the day you want. It's very popular and books quickly.
Thanks I'll check it out.
  15. We are a group of twenty cruising for my moms 60th birthday. We will be in st. Thomas for her actual birthday and she wanted to do a half day sail with snorkeling. I'm having a hard time finding something affordable and that can accommodate 20 people. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Even other suggestion on fun unique things to do here for her bday. No simple beach days though we are doing that at a couple of other ports. TIA
  16. Just returned from St. Marteen. We walked down the main shopping area and saw a van which had a wooden sign in front window which read "Maho Beach". We waved it down, and rode public "bus" to traffic circle just by Maho beach, cost was $2 a person. Sweet. After spending time there, we walked back to traffic circle area and within two minutes a public bus/van "Phillipsburg" in window. $2 back, SWEET!! Some people think taxi is better for $30. Not me.

Going in January with a party of 15. Bus probably won't be an option because of the number of us. Do you think they can call a second bus when they see how many? Also did you have to take the water taxi from the cruise terminal then take the bus?

  17. Yes..the prices are the same...no reason to do it in advance! The package is good on both Coco Cay and Labadee. You can't use your OBC until you are ONBOARD, hence the "onboard credit!" Once you've boarded, there will be drink package representatives around the ship...head to the WJ...they usually are set up just outside the WJ.

Thanks!!! That was pretty much my last question. Off to vacation I go!

  18. Good Afternoon,

We are leaving on our cruise next week and I want to get the beer and wine beverage package for my husband and the soda package for my daughter. We have a significant on board credit and since it's only a 3 nighter We probably won't be spending much outside of the drinks. So I don't want to book online, I want to book on board to use the OBC.

Will the prices be the same? and where do we go to do this? Will they still get their souvenir cups? Can this be done in the terminal while waiting to board? Can the packages be used on Cocoacay?

    Thanks for any information
