Hi Anabel,
You can still take advantage of my work, and do the two days of touring.
Could you please post this, or something like it on the Roll call:
You are booked either 14-Day Holy Land & Ancient Kingdoms Explorer for September 24- to October 8 or the 28-Day Holy Land, Ancient Kingdoms & Adriatic Explorer
I, Susan (xLibLabLady) had arranged the following tours for our 28-day cruise that would have began on September 10and ended 8 October. Holland America canceled that bloc of time.
We can’t go on the two full days of tours, you can. You will need to contact Mina, the guide, and either do the tours as we designed it, or request modifications. You will need to ask her her current requirements regarding deposits needed at present. You will also need to ask her about what would happen if your cruise is cancelled.
Mina’s contact information: Mina Glatzer. Her email:derecer10@gmail.com She also has WhatsApp.
The tour(s) will be in a 16-passenger van with a driver and a guide. Group size for this tour needed to be a minimum of 10 people.
The cost of the tour, $150 USD per person per day is based on 10 passengers. This price does not include entrance fees nor meals.
Payment will be cash on the days of each tour, preferably in USD.
Total of entrance fees will be approximately the equivalent of $10 USD extra per person.
Important to note: Mina states that if for some reason transportation fees change close to our arrival she will let passengers know. Mina will be hiring a van with a driver.
Regarding the 1st day Saturday Oct 1 from the Haifa port:
We had planned an itinerary that includes such highlights as these, not necessarily in this order:
Baha’i gardens in Haifa which we will not enter and walk through it but rather have view from the upper terraces and get an explanation of the Bahai faith.
Nazareth visit the church of Annunciation
Mount of the Precipice/Mount of the Leap of the Lord which has stunning views towards
Mount Tabor and the Jezreel Valley. (Note: There is a geocache at this and other locations, which DH Jerry and I hope to find while there, but I promise we would not allow our searches to interfere with group enjoyment.)
Sea of Galilee where we will visit Mount of Beatitude, Capernaum, Tabha Cana, where the miracle of the water that turned to wine happened when Jesus attended the wedding
Visit Yardenit baptism site on the River Jordan
We may enter a kibbutz as well and get the idea of how life is today.
Regarding the 2nd day, Sunday Oct 2 from Ashdod, the port for Jerusalem:
We would concentrate on Jerusalem Old and New city. This tour does not include Bethlehem because after arrival hit could take hours to get to the church of Nativity. We would have to have a different guide while our Israeli guide would have to wait for us on the Israeli side.
In Jerusalem we visit the old city, including but not limited to:
Mount of Olives
The Wailing Wall
the Cardo (Cardo was the main road at the Roman period and used to cross the city from North southwards. Due to excavation you can see the level of the road 2000 years ago compared to today’s level. and it’s actually today located in the middle of the Jewish quarter.
the Jewish quarter
the Christian quarter
Church of the Holy Sepulcher
Via Dolorosa
Dome of the Rome may be included
Our guide Mina Glatzner suggests we see the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum as well.
Take care,
Susan
p.s. As you know, I still have the emails of those who had signed up for the 2 days. It sure would be great if you all could still get together. I am going to send this same email to each couple signed up.
