Thank you for another Escape review. The lack of manners always amazes me. I can't tell you how many times people have told me and my son at how they are amazed at his good manners and politeness. Any-who.... I am glad you had a great vacation.

Why? Do you can be clear on what is needed like you were?

I belong it had to do with Mexican authorities wanting the verify the vacation was a legitimate one and not a parent teying to run from the other parent and using their country to hide in. Things may have changed since our cruise, that is why I said to check the State Department website for the most up to date information.

When I went on a cruise with my son, I researched the State Department website. That is where I believe I found that Mexico requires a notorized letter from the parent that is not traveling with you saying that they are aware that you are traveling to their country with the child. Granted, I never had to show it, so maybe it was more for if it was a land based Mexican vacation. My point is always check the State Department website for the most up to date requirements.

Mexico requires a notorized letter if my memory serves me correct, even though I was the physical custody parent. It was super easy and totally cool. My son's dad and I have that kind of relationship anyways.

That is actually a pretty sweet sounding location, in my opinion.

That is a fine addition to your vacation to do list!!!

You could call your pre-cruise hotel. If they have a business center, they might have the needed things to mail it safely home. I do hope you guys get the precious cargo home safely. If I was closer to the port I would gladly "babysit" it with a few of my friends and safely return the empty bottle to you when you got back. :D

If your there in Miami the night before the cruise, you could have a rip-snortin' good time the night before. Of course the morning after might not be so pretty.... LOL Especially if you missed the boarding. Yikes!!! Good luck figuring it out.

We stayed at the same hotel last January. It is an older hotel and shows her age a little but the rooms were clean and the staff were griendly. There is also a CVS right next by for last minute essentials or if you plan on bringing water or soda onboard. The other fun thing to try is the elevated tram, I forget what it is called. It is free and is a neat experience.

My facebook newsfeed showed my memory from 3 years ago of posting a pic of her being floated down the Ems.

Well when sleeping in a dumpy hotel, motivation to Escape will be exponentially higher. :D

Enjoy your trip!!!!! Don't forget to check out the "hallowed" ground like the live trip reporters did before you and pay tribute to the DUDE. :)

I was on both Away ships and didn't notice, even in the casino unless I had a smoker sitting right next to me. I don't imagine I will notice on the Escape either. But again, that is just me.

Last 2 cruises, we brought on bottled water for the boy, diet soda for myself and dear hubs precious Amps (that are harder to find than a Yeti). I just slapped extra luggage tags on them, tipped the porter handsomely (to ensure the safe travels of said precious Amps) and scurried off for the golden gates of the contraband detectors.

We are booked for the Escape in September. I can't wait!!!

I don't think there was ANYTHING in Jenjer post that would come off as pretenious, assuming or not helpful. I read it as being a caring person, nothing more. I have been on a number of cruises and you would actually be surprised at the number of seemingly unsupervised children there are. I say unassumingly because I am sure there are a good number of parents that are watching their kids like a hawk from close by. I do hope that you enjoy your cruise a lot!

I was really trying to be nice on my first post and give said OP the benefit of the doubt, but given the new snarkiness, I will kindly inform you of the truth now. This is all a big ruse by Norwegian Cruise Line to absolutely RUIN your vacation before it EVER starts. The suits over there at Norwegian Cruise Line gathered up all their fine people in the bait and switch department, had a big meeting, where MASS quantities of the Garden Cafe "coffee" (sh*t could sink a ship, really.....) and decided the YOU were their next bait and switch victim.
Sorry but you poor attitude towards people that were trying to help you is as ridiculous as my post.
-
Given the number of posts the OP has, more than likely they never thought to use this as a sounding board. Do you remember what offers were being offered at the time of your booking? But as to the whole bait and switch thing, not the case. I can say that for us, the first two people on our reservation have the ultimate beverage package and the second two have the ultimate soda package. Maybe that is the case.
If on the off chance, you are trying to start a hot button topic, try smoking or chair hogs. Soda packages and virgin drinks probably won't cut it.

Thanks for the review of the Haven! It made me SO ready for our September cruise!

Your review sounds absolutely Havenly right now. We are gearing up for our arctic blast this weekend. I will need to read read you review and TheDougOut's review this weekend to keep from thinking about the cold.

WoW!!!! I am COMPLETELY bummed to be at the end of this vacation AND review.... Now how am I supposed to waste time at work? *Sigh*..... I might just have to try and accomplish something so I can pay for my cruise and try and recreate the epic adventures of a legend.
In all seriousness, thank you, thank you, thank you for this outstanding review!!!! Stay thirsty, my friend.

This is probably the closest you'll see me in the Haven for the next 20 years or so.
Speaking of which, I've always thought NCL's integration of a premium area is well executed, at least so far as how it fits in with the rest of the ship. To those that aren't part of it, you really aren't aware that you're missing out on anything,

Truth!!! Normally, we are not Haven dwellers, happily stuffing ourselves into an inside room or splurging for a balcony but about this time last an opportunity arose to jam two families of 3 into a 2 bedroom suite in the Haven during one of NCL's "pay for 2, stuff 12 into a room and we'll give you free booze to survive" promotion. We couldn't pass it up. Of course, once we came to our senses that the quarters were going to be just too tight for 6 up of us, so we promptly dumped the kids off the reservation. For their sanity, of course! It has nothing to do with our opportunity to live like kings and act like kids....
Gluten Free on the Sky?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We did this on the Sky with my best friend who has a gluten free diet. EVen with it on your reservation, still call or email the access desk. Access Desk info I know this part of the site I linked to doesn't mention dietary needs but we did it this way and we had great luck with the trip. You can also preorder the meals the night before. Speak with the head maitre d in the main dining room on the first day, explain your child's needs, and they should be able to get you all set up. We looked at the menu the night before and she simply placed her order with the maitre d. She did this on the Sky, Breakaway, and Getaway with much success. SHe did run into a issue on her Dawn trip because our new cruise consultant drops the ball and it was never on her reservation, but she still had a great selection.
