  1. Must be a supply/demand thing. Busier times=higher rates??

I will only book at $119, since that's the exact price of the parking garage. I only live an hour from port, so it's not worth it otherwise. ;)

Are we looking at the same hotel? http://hotelmayalongbeach.com/ ? From this website, choose the date and it will direct you to hilton website. I went directly to the hilton website and it's still the same price.

It is $119 for every day up until the end of April, except for some blackout dates. March 21 is $119. If you don't see that rate, call the hotel.

  2. Not sure why everyone else is getting higher rate than me. I booked at $125 for the garden-view room. I checked again today and it went down to $119. I could have cancelled my old reservation and rebook, but I didn't want to chance someone booking the same room at the same time. I called in and got my rate adjusted.

    $119 was for the 2 queens or 1 king garden-view. Water-view = $159. Balcony = $169.

This is also for Valentine's Day. I used the flexible dates and got $119 for the entire month.

  3. Not sure why, but I tested out the 2/4 date for 4 people and I got $145 instead of $149. For the 3/21 date for 2, I got $125.

If you don't need a place to stay the night before, parking at port is the way to go. In my case, the extra $29 (the difference of $6 + tax) is worth it. If I couldn't get this deal, I would have drive to Long Beach from San Jose the morning of departure. :)

  4. The night before the sale, I debated with myself over booking....decided to hold off. The next day, the "sale" started and my priced for the cabin went up about $200.00. That is not a sale.......

Yes. It is not a sale. However, is there a benefit to waiting until the sale is over? If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't book either since I would feel deceived. However, I don't see a benefit of waiting if there is a cruise that you are planning already.

I'm having the same problem with Carnival stock price. I was really considering it at $31 something earlier this month. I was researching to see what is the best way to buy. At $34 now, I wouldn't buy simply because I "could have" bought it $3 cheaper.

  5. Email from Carnival says, "Last Chance, Sale Ends Sunday!"

I said, "Thank goodness! I have been waiting for this sale to end so I can book!" I wonder how many people actually booked during this "sale"?

I booked during this "sale". I don't see why not. If the prices go down next week, I can always get an adjustment. Is there a benefit for waiting for this sale to end to book? What if the prices do go up? There was a price drop on my next cruise during the sale.

  6. Hello,

I read about taking the city bus in Puerto Vallarta to go to the boardwalk and walk around that area. I like the idea since I don't want to spend too much on the trip, and I don't plan on doing things like ziplining, parasailing, dolphin encountering and things of that sort.

I'm okay spending a couple of hours on the beach, but since we have 2 days in Cabo, what are some inexpensive things to do there? There are 2 of us and we aren't drinkers.

    Thank you.
