  1. We have also registered for this, we did it while on Oceana recently on a 35 nighter, our first of this duration which was great. I felt it was a good price for select fare and got the extra OBC. At 5% deposit we can afford to lose that if saver fares are good. Some great new ports for us too.

We are only an hour from Southampton so took the free parking for a month which worked better for us than the OBC. I hope to get the military OBC (hubby was in RAF) and also stockholder OBC.

It should be a great cruise. We haven't experienced the luxury of a long return to Southampton cruise. Looking forward to bringing a lot of my stuff on board!

  2. When you attend muster don't go into your designated area first but wait about and go in later, but definitely before muster starts, that way you are at the back of the room and will be first out, the stairwells and lifts get extremely busy.

We then either decide to take our lifejackets to a bar for a drink until the tide of people subsides or run back to the room with the vests then go up to the lido deck for sail away.

  3. We have pre registered for Feb 2019 - Ventura 35 night Southampton return. USA and Caribbean with our usual website TA.

We got a great price and being a select fare means we choose our cabin and dining option - this is important to us on such a long cruise.

The ship overnights in Bermuda and New Orleans. We are looking forward to it. Although we have quite a few cruises already booked before then.

  4. Not when you cruise as much as we do. I have paid for mine twice over and there worth double what I paid.

But yes they can go down.

Quite agree. Our stock has doubled since we bought in 2013.

We bought them with a view that we could lose the money, but goodness me we have had a shed load of OBC back plus dividends

  5. I would say that the 'wine package 10 or 12 Bottles ' of wine purchased at a discount is only usually offered on longer cruises than 10 days

Your best bet is if one buys the all inclusive beverage package and then buys bottles of wine to share. They can buy these in the dining room AND at any of the bars. My hubby usually gets the all inclusive package and buys bottles of wines (say 3) for me which our usual bartender keeps in his fridge for me to drink as I wish. We use the same bar each evening

  6. Thank you both for the replies. I know it's a long way off; but the early bird gets the cabin he wants

    I entirely understand.

We booked our South America January 2017 trip in May 2015 on the first day of release. We got the cabin we wanted and actually the price never went below the launch price for our particular category of cabin.

I'm waiting too as I want to book the South Pacific 28 day cruise LA return for early 2019. Fingers crossed!

  7. It's available in Feb 2018- and we're doing it :). It's 35 days

Yes Thanks i saw the 2018 cruise. Unfortunately we are already booked on a winter Norway trip that time and have a number of other cruises booked up until December 2018. So Feb 2019 is our first opportunity.

  8. We moved the opposite way having reached the dizzy heights of Baltic with P&O we became somewhat disillusioned and dissatisfied with P&O so moved to Princess and never looked back. We prefer the food on Princess and the service is better and much prefer the whole cruise experience and meeting people from different countries.

Glad you like princess. The main winner is that P&O loyalty is transferable to princess.

We have tried P&O a few times but no loyalty transfer for us (elite on princess)

  9. Glad it is still being offered. Was it in the Wheelhouse or in a MDR? I've attended most in the Wheelhouse after standing in long lines to get in. There was one cruise (Sapphire to Hawaii I think) where they held it in a MDR. This, IMHO, sped up the standing in line process. I think it would be to have it, fleet wide, in a dining room. This might speed up the process of standing in line.....:):):)

On the Crown the pub lunch was in the crown grill.
